I do believe that’s polished Ti. I say that because I’m pretty sure that’s why they void warranty if you use aftermarket bearings, because it literally makes a different path into the knife vs. a set of washers.
the flipperless version is so much more appealing to me...hope to handle one some day...
thinking about getting a full size arius with CF show side scale. hard to drop that much coin tho.
I have the mini and the full size. Love em both. The lockbar is slightly sharp is my only “complaint “

The mini non flipper if my "grail" knife. The flupper version is a pass for me. But front forward finger choil, if was designed as. Perfection!

back in the day Spyderco made the Southard and a major issue it ended up having after a few years is dished bearing races because the steel bearings would eat the titanium. basically what I'm saying is the ceramic bearings should be fine I guess but it's something to keep in mind if and when you upgrade.

Usually ramps just make the knife feel cheap to me. Feels loose. And a knife with an early enough detent doesn’t need a ramp anyway. They are just overused

Ah skiff is def great but they do a lot of hand finishing. Separates them
It's pretty interesting I've seen that all those in that range, Koenig, Oz, Grimsmo, Brown, they all run their bearings straight on the Ti scales instead of hardened steel washers. They obviously get excellent action, but in terms of longevity of the bearing track... do they know something that we don't understand?
There are some that are 5-10 yrs old now and not hearing issues so should be safe
That looked like some kind of Stainless steel insert on the scales for the bearings to ride on , can even be LC200n that’s why it wasn’t magnetic

You don’t think any protechs or USA made Spyderco’s are any good? Ofc they’re not on the level of a Koenig or an rosie, but they also cost like 4 times as much, so they’re not supposed to be competing w them.
