Building Jurassic Park with Scientifically Accurate Dinosaurs

- Have you ever wondered what it would be like to run a Jurassic Park style zoo with scientifically accurate dinosaurs? Well, I played this game called Prehistoric Kingdom and got a good taste of that experience. I spared no expense, as I went bankrupt in the game, like, 5 times. The dinosaurs in this game are based on what we currently know about them, and they look stunning.

dinosaur combat is coming to the game, Prehistoric Kingdom is still in it's beta phase, and from what I know, one of the next few updates will introduce dinosaur breakouts.
Ah, ok, awesome!! Looking forward to seeing that down the line! I’ll definitely make an updated review when they implement those new features!
Can’t wait to see how T.rex will dispatch its opponents.
@@SamuRhino2023 Hopefully its not just one bite then the fights over but idk
@@TidewaterTeddy A way to do it with more dinosaurs and more features is modded Jurassic World Evolution 2. There’s a modpack called “Liv’s paleo overhaul” which allows you to make nearly any creature in the game a scientifically accurate look and they look fantastic too.
@@TidewaterTeddyYeah, they’ll even be able to break out eventually.
didn't even notice i was watching a small channel. Awesome work man
Tysm, man!! That means a lot! I’m glad you liked it!!
I didn’t even notice till I read your comment. This videos so well done 👍
@@JurassicEdits1993 thank you!! 🙏
Thank you for getting us to notice
to be fair; this game is in early development, so i give it some leeway on its many issues for the time being
if this was a full release though id be voicing the same frustrations, but rn the game is technically early access
True, true. I like this game a lot and want to see it succeed, but I want to be honest with everyone about the progress so far. I think it may be some time (possibly years) before they fix the AI issues.
hopefully this game will be the scientifically accurate JWE, but wont be able to combat it
Hi there, i am here to say that prehistoric kingdom is in a REALLY early stage, every complain in this video will be added later on, you can check the trello roadmap for more info.
I’ll definitely check out that road map! I still like the game a lot, but like you said, it is still in development. Whenever they add the improved gameplay mechanics, I’ll make an updated review. Tysm for your comment!! 🙏
Hey, it's still in early acces, and when you see how they improve with each update, you can tell that these guys actually have love and passion for the game thy're making, and they listen to the comunity,
Also just a little thing I wanted to say is, that while PK is going for scientific accuracy, some dinos, like the t.rex, tarbosaurus, dryosaurus and even the mammoths are stialized, they say it themselves in the dlc artbook.
Anyway good video, you earned a like
Hey, thanks for your comment (and the like)! 🙏 yes, this game is still in early access and gets better with every update. I definitely see what you mean about the stylization. I guess you cannot get away from stylization completely, since our knowledge is limited. Makes me think about how outdated Walking with Dinosaurs looks vs Prehistoric Planet, although WWD took some creative liberties from the get go.
In future updates there will be ALOT more to help make the animals feel alive, so yea there will be combat between animals and stuff like that
Yeah, looking forward to future updates! I’ll definitely post an updated review whenever they add the improved AI and combat elements!!
I want to play this, but my laptop dies everytime I spawn a dinosaur
I have seen Steam reviews of this game that have mentioned how resource intense it is on some computers. That’s something else that will need to be ironed out.
@@TidewaterTeddy that makes sense, because when I started the tutorial, I genuinely thought my computer was about to explode
Wait... you only have 1.5k? i thought u had like 100k lol ur really good at creating content but keep in mind that this is a early acces game
Thank you!!! 🙏🙌 yes, you’re right. It’s still in development, so I’m looking forward to seeing the progress. I will probably do another updated review whenever the final game is released.
@@TidewaterTeddy im really hyped for the full release i think i will buy it in a month or so but first a few dlcs from jurassic world evo XD
@@Yija. yeah, it’s a great game, and I recommend it, but definitely get those Jurassic World dlcs first!! lol
dinos will soon be able to escape and im pretty sure hunt/fight too maybe
That will be awesome! I’m looking forward to it, although it may be a few months/years away.
well they are currently working on the escaping and i really hope it isnt like jwe as it would be just headbutting the fence or tailwhipping wich sucks@@TidewaterTeddy
@@DriftAndClarkStudiosOFFICIAL I hope it’s more advanced as well, but if nothing else, I hope they get the AI fixed, so they at least, behave like they should.
@@TidewaterTeddy agreed and have interations cross species and human dino dino human
NO WAY IT'S ANOTHER UNDERRATED YT. THIS VIDEO IS GREAT BUD. YOUR GONNA BE FAMOUS SOME DAY.
Thank you so much!! 🙏🙌 I really appreciate the support and encouragement!!
Dinosaur combat, breakouts, guest eating and all that juicy stuff is coming eventually don't worry. They just had their first challenge mode implemented before it was just a sandbox where nothing happened.
I'm looking forward to all the future updates! I bought this game back in 2022 when it was first released, and I remember the sandbox mode. That's the main reason why I didn't play it again until this year. Challenge mode is way more fun! Thanks for your comment!
the game is probably set to officialy release in maybye a year or 2, so they will add so much stuff to it. it is planned to add all the things that are missing rn. and for me this game beats jwe2 so hard (ofc the complete version)
I like this game a lot, and I want to promote it, but I also want to be honest about the current gameplay issues. I’m really looking forward to the full release, but like you said, it may take them a couple years to fix the AI. I’ll definitely make an updated review down the line.
i'm your 100th like! i love dinosaurs :]]
Yeeaaaaah!!! 🙌 Thank you, thank you! 🙏 As you can see, I love dinosaurs, too!! 🦖 🦕
The game is very much in its early stages of early access still.
Very true. I actually bought this game back in 2022, so I have seen some of the progress since then. I like and support the game, but at this rate, it may be another two years before it gets where it needs to be.
@@TidewaterTeddyI mean in comparison to every other dinosaur game this one is one of the fastest progressing. Think of the isle for example
@@JurassicEdits1993 absolutely. I still enjoyed the game, but for gamers who want to cause chaos, they will have to wait a little while. I’ll definitely be making and updated review down the line.
half-lipped rex
Yeah, that's one of the inaccuracies. Some of the other commenters mentioned that they did not give trex lips for stylistic purposes, but I honestly think trex looks scarier with lips.
Like in jurassic World, people don’t see dinosaurs amazing anymore, and that’s why the I-rex was made, to please the public more “
3:17 yeah the game is not finished yet! I’m pretty sure they’re planning to add all of this aswell as baby dinosaurs and facility workers! (I believe they’re also planning to add facilities like gift shops and restaurants much like planet zoo!)
Yup! They have plans for all of that! In fact, they already have gift shops and restaurants in the game, so that's a plus! They will likely be adding staff and baby dinosaurs this year (2024). Thanks for your comment!
You should build a novel isla nublar or novel sorna
That’s a great idea! I’ll see what I can do.
2:26 - well... Ther ,,Raptors" could be more based on Deinonychus
You’re right. The JP and JW raptors are actually based on Deinonychus. Michael Crichton, the author of Jurassic Park, based his raptors on Deinonychus but decided to call them Velociraptors instead.
Source: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deinonychus#Cultural_significance
@@TidewaterTeddy alright
Dude the game is not done yet
You’re right, but I bought this game back in spring of 2022. It’s been 2 years now, and I’d like to see them prioritize the gameplay elements I mentioned, rather than adding more dinosaurs. Also, I like this game a lot and want to promote it, but I also want to be honest with everyone about the current issues. It may be another 2 years before they finish this game.
Ok thanks fo replying
Yooo it's the nature guy
Hollywood's Dilophosaurus weren't scientifically inaccurate, it was a juvenile and scientist have acknowledged, plausibly, this animal having extra accessories. Animals today can excrete or project bodily fluid for effective purposes then maybe Dilophosaurus had spitting abilities too. And with the chance there might be feathers, could adorn a neck frill as well.
That’s definitely true. There is fossil evidence of venomous dinosaurs like Sinornithosaurus. However, as far I know, Dilophosaurus didn’t have neck frills or venomous spit. That was something that Michel Crichton, the author of Jurassic Park, added for drama and plot purposes. I still think JP Dilophosaurus are cool, though. I chalk up JP dinos being unrealistic to them having frog DNA mixed in with their regular DNA.
@@TidewaterTeddy But it isn't hereditary for some animals to secrete or vomit bodily fluids, as a means for offense or defense, is my point. The _Dilophosaurus_ doesn't need to be venomous to spit at things. Though we cannot strongly be sure if Dilophosaurus had a feathered frill we can observe some modern birds with these traits. Whether these "cowls" function to impress mates or to scare off predators and rival is left to the imagine how they attribute some non-avian dinosaur like Dilophosaurus.
Also, the venomous Sinornithosaurus has since been debunked. Unless, there is new information to reinforce the theory, then it might sometime until unearth a venomous dinosaur.
@@TheMightyN I get your point, and it’s a good one. But I think we can agree that Hollywood took creative liberties with Dilophosaurus. Technically, even the more serious dinosaur media like Prehistoric Planet and even this game have taken creative liberties because we’re still filling in a lot of blanks. And, yes, many modern animals can and do spit, vomit, etc. and have elaborate displays to impress or intimidate. It’s just, for me, I prefer the creative liberties be based on the fossil record and current knowledge of the species.
You’re right about Sinorthosaurus. However, it’s quite likely we’ll discover a venomous dinosaur, although (like you said) it will probably be a while. Thank you for your contributions.
@@TidewaterTeddy From a retrospect plenty of dino-nerds tend to unleash their malice towards this animal; if not for its "bad" design then scientific inaccuracies. But many don't realize this decision for the frill was made by Paleontologists, at least inadvertently. It was originally intended for the animal to inflate giant air sacs according to John Gurche (he never specified this detail with Rick Carter though.) While the sacs were put in the final cut they were reduced in size in placement of the frill. But in above it all, the recent medium is far in between any creative liberties. By abiding to the latest scientific research from fossil record, and the demand for accurate dinosaurs ever growing, drowns the room from creative licenses to flourish. It's why, when creative liberties are treated in Paleo-Media, it's handled through color designs. So no, restricting those principles based on the fossil record alone is an inconsistent variable, if not, suffocating. You saw how this has been for both _Dilophosaurus_ and _Velociraptor_ after Jurassic Park--I think ignoring "save faced" dinosaurs could do more good than harm in understanding the natural world. Kudos to Prehistoric Planet with experimenting such concepts but it failed when hiring the wrong Paleoartist. Regardless, if Paleontologists too rely on nature to understand ecological behavior prehistoric lifeforms, we cannot deny this source because we think one idea is sound. May be Dilophosaurus had a feathered frill or maybe it could spit or inflate air sacs. Who knows? That's why we speculate.
💙💙💙LITERALLY PREHISTORIC KINGDOM💙💙💙
Just don’t let them loose duh
🤣🤣😅
You should play jurassic World evolution 2
Do you plan on covering JWE2?
I can cover it, if y’all want. I don’t have the game rn, but I can get it.
I wise the game acted more jurassic world evolution 2, with the dinosaurs and the mammals, having fights like t rex vs mammoth or velociraptor vs saber tooth. Hopefully with updates the can fixs that. Still game looks great and nigel marven too 👍🏻
Yes, I agree, but it’s still in development, so it should have those updates later on. I’m looking forward to future updates!
@@TidewaterTeddythat's awesome 👌🏻 I'm hoping, too, and also, console release. Maybe why they don't attack cause they don't want to be that violent but come on if they want to be accurate then T rex is gonna eat you.
Well if you wanna recreate Jurassic park I suggest just playing Jurassic world evolution 2 even though the dinosaurs in that game are the genetically modified ones that we see in the movies and shows they still can fight they can die they can eat humans they can eat other dinosaurs but they are unrealistic
That’s true. I’ve seen some clips from the jw evolution games showing breakouts and chaos. I heard you can even get a Megalodon now. I think Prehistoric Kingdom is still a solid game, but it’s still in development, so it needs some time to get where it needs to be.
@@TidewaterTeddy yeah prehistoric kingdom looks cool but me personally I’m more of a Jurassic world evolution 2 kind of guy
JWE 2 solos
There’s just one thing that ain’t accurate the T rex doesn’t have lips ignore the spino that’s different it stayed near water But yeah
You’re 100% right about the trex. The only game I can think of that has/had an accurate Trex is Saurian, although I personally haven’t played that game. I’m sure prehistoric kingdom will fix the trex down the line.
@@TidewaterTeddy hopefully they will add it
@@TidewaterTeddy No they will not, it is a style choice, they have been clear that they will not come back on older animals added to the roster to fixes design that people don't like.
They have choose this design cause they find it cool like many other of their designs.
@@foxxtitan7028 ah OK I see. That makes sense. Thank you for your comment.
@@tomrouth357 Likely not to be honest.
Then play Jurassic world evolution 2
this is why evolution is good
Why only Chinese face in Asian?
We have south eastern without slit eyes too
I'm not sure tbh. That's something for the developers to address.
