I was practicing calesthenics and could do around 25 but then I started bodybuilding and now I can do only around 15
Did you feel physically stronger and more aesthetic when you did calisthenics, or than right now where you are doing bodybuilding.

I would say I was better at moving my own body weight then but I’m more aesthetic now
Yea it’s a lot easier to do more if you’re lean. But if you’re more bulkier than it’ll be harder cus you’ll weigh more

Yeah the second guy wasn't clean. He's doing more like half a pull up. I could easily do 20 of these forms of pull ups that are not all the down and all the way up.

Back when I was 84kg and mainly focused on calisthenics because of lockdown I could do 34 pull ups (full lockout, chin over bar) now that I’m focusing more on powerlifting and bodybuilding (weighing 90kg) I can only do around 26

I couldnt do push up even single one but I can do around 25 after 4 months of gym. I cant even do maybe cant even think to make pull ups but thank to progress now I can do 1 :) Im trusting the procces, and I want to be an absolute unit.

Last summer I did 27. Been adding 6 pounds every week to my weight vest at a total of 42 pounds now. Max is 60 pounds. After that I’ll test myself to failure again and see what happens.

bodybuilding kills your pullup game,i once did 35 but once i got into bodybuilding it declined a little
It's cause you get heavier faster than you get stronger. I went from being able to pump out 12/13 to struggling to reach 10 within a month of bulking so it's a tradeoff

I like to mix some calisthenics, especially weighted pullups & dips into my routine. Even while following a bodybuilding style of training.
I could only do 2-3 pull-ups now i max out on 7. Pull ups are no joke but consistency will make ya better

This is why bodyweight excercising is better for your health look and all around fitness. I worked out for 2 years and could do 40 pullups. Sets of 20+. Legups with a 25lb barbell between my toes. And jogged every day. Healthiest and best shaoe of my life at 30-32 years old. Gave up when i had a kid.

Apparently if you can do 15 pull ups you are in 10% strength wise, if you can do 20 you are in 1%. Thats what i found out although seems crazy to me that i am in 1% but strict pull ups are always hard for anybody
I dont think you worded it right with the whole "top X % STRENGTH wise" because powerlifters are the strongest mfs on earth and since they're heavy, probably can't do that many pullups. For pullups, being lean is a massive advantage.
