World Record History of A12 - How Trackmania Players Made Cars Fly

- Trackmania Nations Forever is a forumla racing game, or at least that's what it should have been. But with players chasing the perfect record on A12-Speed, a long series of strategy improvements led them to an amazing discovery. This is the story of How Trackmania Players Made Cars Fly.

Got hoocked to the game aswell
I don't even play Trackmania
Same. Also Fucking hefest. So far I see him breaking world records like a beast... Holy sit I never expected him to show up here
Also the game
His voice is soothing and matching for these kinds of videos.
Lmao poor Trinity, spent 4 years to have his WR beaten in 3 days.
Ikr so sad, but that's how life is sometimes
but he did was the first one to breake the 12 second barrier
@@playandgo3390 But now the question is... Did it get beaten legit? With all the cheating happening now I reckon he did it without cheats and he got screwed!
But they've had it immortalized by this video now! We all know Trinity have it 250,000 attempts and 600 hours. There's plenty more hard workers whose legendary accomplishments we'll never hear of!
@@chriswelcome8102 i don't think that's a record where cheating would really matter since it's 99% luck based

I like how you pay respect to the old records that would become obsolete with new shortcut discoveries.
It gives a complete layman like me a sense of understanding what the goal used to be and how the goalposts were moved as time went on.
You also have a nice voice and you are a great storyteller.
I found you when you speedran Trackmania on AGDQ and I was baffled how you fluently you narrated your run in what I assume is your second language.
I know next to nothing about Trackmania. I dont plan on ever playing this game, much less speedrunning it, but your narrations have me captivated.
Funny enough, Wirtual's yt content is mainly trackmania
This is so spot on. Very well put. I can truly relate to your words!
I am just imagining a random dude trying to grind it the intended way and wondering "how does one save 8 seconds on a single right turn"
"I'm in this comment and I don't like it"
I recently started playing it and wonder that every time I see a record board. Been loving this guy's videos for showing some of the tricks.
I stopped playing when I realised the records were being manipulated somehow. While not cheating, I still think a player should use all of the track. Cuts like these wouldn’t be kosher in motor racing (flying cars aside). Enjoying the videos none the less.
maybe a different leaderboard for no short cut track
the 18.79 without cutting will probably never be beaten tbh.
Imagine you join trackmania for the first time and you just hear people saying "yea man just go for a rammstein uber bugslide 360 combo hot pocket number 9 with a side of fries"
goe forgot to turtle the end :)
bug finish that too
i would say hell to all that crap. I just wanna enjoy trackmania the way it intended.
@@kosuzudrinkwater186 enjoy being an unintelligent bull, smashing your head into the barricades while those barricades are not actually connected to anything.
@@AvExCams7 well maybe if the shortcut is something than i can pull off, i will take that shortcut. Just start playing this week, sorry.
Videos like this are extremely important. There's only ever one world record holder per track and it won't even last forever, yet the work put in by the entire community - finding new strategies and refining old ones - is what makes this amazing. They may not hold the records, but there efforts need to be recorded for context.

The sheer amount of patience of playing a track for 600 hours is insane

@@trinitytm2122 u are a hero
@@DUKEisALIVE ain't that the point of video games?
Imagine grinding a level for 3 years to finally barely beat the record and then hearing that someone spent 5 minutes and launched themselves right to the finish line
That was the guy that made all this possible, imagine the outcome if nobody at all tried beating the track?
@@KaykyG018 I have a strong suspicion Trinity did his record legit and got cheated out of it! Look at all the recent cheating scandals
@@chriswelcome8102 To my knowledge pretty much all of the cheating related stuff came from game slowdown, which really wouldn't do you much help here. Things like save states are easily detectable by the game so cheating in that way wasn't really part of the scandal.
@@mikamoschella3410 Yeah.. No, the slow down would help with every aspect of this game. I'm pretty sure it would help with just about any game
@@chriswelcome8102 I mean with how little this bug seems to be understood, it's agreed to be almost entirely random? So unless these players know something we don't and are deliberately withholding it, slowing down the game shouldn't really substantially help them, it would just make the time to retry these takes longer.
Hefest is just an absolute unit of a human being. A machine. A terminator.
How does he pull it off? In every video about some insane or "impossible" WR, Hefest just comes in at the end and took it personally, that he wasn't the one holding the WR at the time.

I think A12 is the most miraculous map of Trackmania history. Each player that has ever hunted this map has a need to to keep trying to surprise the community with another impossible record. I think Wirtual should find and use his own music. The line between ripping off and paying homage starts to blur.
@@SCDJMU The "Summoning Salt and EmpLemon music" is actually a track named "We're finally landing" by Home. To be more precise, it's the first track of Home's album "Before the Night".
The artist itself (Home) released a part of his own music also on CZcams Music Library so that content creators can use his tracks into their videos. Given the high quality of his music, this is no less than a gift for us all, not only for content creators.

You are one hell of a story teller. I had no idea about this game this morning and now have watched a bunch of videos like it’s must see tv.
I've been playing Trackmania for about 10 years now, I found it in the time shortly after my girlfriend passed away and played it in the coming years as a method of coping. When I began playing the game, I was expecting it to have a pretty low player count on account of the fact that I'd never heard of it before. Boy, I could not have been more wrong. I had no idea such a huge niche community was hiding in plain sight.
I realize I'm new to the series, much newer than most other players, but everyone I meet in TM is so friendly and I'm grateful to have a game where I can just join a server and chat instead of needling to perform up to expectations. It's refreshing to play a game where people only help me if they see me struggling instead of trying to work against me.
Thanks for making these videos, and thank you, TM community, for being so kind to me.

Hahaha, that online reaction of Hefest was awesome! He has so many records on Nadeo tracks already, so it's actually a bit ironic that he got this one as well, given how much luck is required.
