In this video, we’ll walk you through every tool you can use to cut, split, and trim videos, and show you how each of them works. From there, you can choose the option that is the most efficient for your workflow.

I could not do the basic cut to the shortest video and apply just two filters, to make it look like an "old movie". It's not working on my Windows laptop, although I installed the version that they said I should.

You gotta be kidding. I spent hours on a five-minute video just applying filters and still got nothing that I could export, and they wouldn't even allow me to cut it to make it shorter, forcing the original length of the video on me and bombarding me with the unwanted annoying messages to upgrade and with false allegations that I used "prime features", when I couldn't even cut the goddamn video and only applied two filters. There is nothing "easy" about this complete waste of time. I'm simply infuriated with the entire lie.

Hey VSDC! I wanted to suggest a new possible feature from Adobe Premiere Pro. This would most likely be for premium users.
The "Automate To Sequence" method allows multiple clips to adjust their clip length to markers automatically. This would be very helpful for making, for example, a montage and you want each clip to start & end at each marker, where the marker is manually set to each beat of the music.
I don't know how it works fully so if you want to look into it you could!

These actions can only be performed on video clips. However, you can duplicate text objects using the CTRL+V and CTRL+C keyboard shortcuts.
To adjust the duration of a text object, you can simply click and drag its edges on the timeline to shorten or extend its length. Alternatively, you can modify the duration values in the properties window.

Hello, sorry to hear you’re dealing with a problem. Let's see if we can assist you in resolving the issue.
There are two methods you can try to cut off the beginning and the end of your video in VSDC:
      Split Method:
      - Select the file you want to split by a single mouse click on the Timeline.
      - Place the cursor to the point where the first fragment should end and the second should begin.
      - Then click the Split into parts razorlike looking button on the Tools section of the Editor tab.
      - Click anywhere on the timeline to unselect the split objects.
      - Now, select the unwanted part you want to delete and remove it.
      Cut Method:
      - Set the Work area that corresponds to the fragment you want to remove. You can do this by moving the grey rectangles above the timeline to mark the desired area. (Refer to this screenshot: prnt.sc/68-TdPrjqD-t)
      - Once the Work area is set, open the Editor tab and click the "Cut out fragment" button in the Tools section.
Make sure that the video file you want to edit is highlighted on the Timeline.
      - After cutting out the unwanted part, the file will be split into two separate files, and the workspace will collapse.
If you still encounter difficulties, don't hesitate to contact our support team at support@videosoftdev.com. We'll be more than happy to assist you further and guide you through the process.

      @VSDCFreeVideoEditor  Před 11 měsíci

Hello, to clarify, did you use the working area above the timeline to select the part of the video you wanted to remove, and then use the scissors tool to cut it out? From your description, it seems that you might have split the video using the razor tool and then selected and removed a portion, which resulted in the remaining part being separated by blank black screens. If this is the case, yes, the space between the split files will remain empty, but you can always move the files closer together to eliminate the blank space.
However, if you are certain that you used the working area and the scissors tool as intended to cut and collapse the video, and the black screen issue persists, please reach out to us at support@videosoftdev.com. Kindly provide us with precise steps and screenshots of the process you followed, and we will investigate the settings to assist you further.
