Walk as Straight as you Can
Walk a straight as you can, walk a straight as an arrow
Know where you stand, walk a straight as use can.
Salesmen and preachers the garden is full of temptations
and the guys in the suits and ties lie like a snake.
    Chorus
Walk a straight as you can, walk a straight as an arrow
steady where you stand, walk a straight as you can.
Here we are surrounded by decadent advertisements
they'll mutilate your mind till you cannot think straight.
    Chorus
The guys in the ties are all smiles and dripping with kindness
they know that misery loves company better than you.
    Chorus
They show a knickknack and tell you you have to have it
there whisper its cost but won't tell you its price.
    Chorus
They'll make you believe you need all the crap they're selling
and if you want nothing at all will sell you that too.
    Chorus
They'll dress you up in the company uniform models,
They'll give you the phony styles till you look just like them.
    Chorus
They'll keep you so busy at work there's no time to wonder
if the effort of work is worth the cost to your soul.
    Chorus
If you ask them they'll tell you they're just following orders,
but when the shit hits the fan you know who gets the blades.
    Chorus.
    Palestindians
I am the child of this land
I am the father of many hands
I am the eagle in the sky
I am the river the valley of sighs.
    Chorus.
For the old, for the young,
for the land yet to come,
for the spirit of my age
for the change that never changes.
You are the people of plastic and steel,
you are the soldiers with blood on your shields,
you are the bringers with nothing to tell
you are the takers with something to sell.
    Chorus 2x.
I am the sun over your streets
I am the dust under your feet
when oh when oh when will it end?
Over and over and over again.
    Chorus.
    War and Peace
Somewhere my love our bodies lay on a beach
somewhere we lay on the edge of the world at sea,
we look at the sky and see the sky for the first time
we look at the sun and I see our son in your eyes.
All my life I've been blind as a diplomat,
to see the beach curled up on a map,
to talk in the tongue of the tribe that twists words into knives,
to work for the tribe that works for the death of other tribes.
    Chorus.
And the beast shall feast on the hearts of men who cannot sit still,
and the hawk will stalk the heart of men who cannot know their guilt.
And the killers shall be honored
and the truth shall rest with might
We fight because we fight because we fight because we fight.
The waves were crashing around us like giant shells
the echo of bones that ripple in a well,
because we forgot to remember what we love best,
because we forgot to restore what we took from the chest.
The past must be sealed in a glass and kept nearby,
our fate must be cloaked in the shroud that clouds the sky,
as if we are being saved for something yet to come,
as if we were saving ourselves from ourselves.
    All the People
People running in the human race
    winning, losing, standing in place,
All the people on their way
    what would Lazarus say?
A child grows into another age
changes masks then leaves the stage,
    What would Lazarus say?
All the people going one way.
If we all could live this life again
with their still be the wretched and the condemned?
    Chorus
You are partly me and I am partly you
are part of what I'm giving to
you are partly me and I am partly
you are part of all the people in you.
We must live together till we die
on the brink and never knowing why
    spinning on a roulette wheel
what do all the people feel?
Was there one so once upon a time
when our dying was our only crime?
What do all the people feel
    spinning on a roulette wheel.
Look at what we've done to our lives
in the name of greed, in the name of Christ! -
    Chorus
