This week we return to our favourite metal beach and are rewarded with a handful of evocative history! Come with us while we scrape and search for the treasures buried in the sand! thanks for taking me to see a beach full of wonders. i live in the high desert in new mexico however i was raised on the gulf of mexico and i miss the sea which for many reasons i shall not see again.

Interesting fact: People use to work as type setters, setting the text in place on the letterpress for printing magazines, posters etc. The Capital letters were stored in the Upper Case .. and the small letters in the Lower Case ... hence why we call them that even now :). Plus the gap under each line of text was separated by lead ... and this gap is still called 'leading' now :) I enjoy your videos thanks xx Zoe

I think that measuring thing would have had a clip in the holes.A t tube with fluid would have clipped into it.For eg blood,you fill long narrow tube,come back at a designated time.The red and white separates and you measure if the white cells have risen.Hope l,m making sense

It was nice to see Oscar with you today. I see the shore you were on was by buildings and assume that was why you had fewer nature shots. I do like the way you blend nature and your discoveries. Some nice metal bits, I love how you can see the crafting potential in those shapes, I think I would be lost trying to figure out what to do with them! The amber glass bottle looks great with the lid too. I can definitely see the birds in the glass blobs, that is going to be an interesting display!
That white glass mesurement piece reminds me of the old mesurement device for an old petrol pump the variety where you pumped petrol into a glass beaker and then drained the mesure thru a hose into your car. The kind known as a hand pump, most were gone by the late 40's here in the states but as a small child my father filled a Travel all we owned in a now long gone town in Nevada as we were doing a family vacation. I remember it very well as I thought it looked like a water pump gone quite wrong. I think the American bottle is hair dye, yes quite toxic.
'What do we think that is then?'... is absolutely crying out to be a tiny mirror, maybe even handheld, for a doll
The white glass scale. A few clues..WB, Water Boils. The highest number on the scale of 230 is boiling point in Fahrenheit, and the little ridges down the centre are in 2 degree divisions. Could be from an industrial process that uses a thermometer to indicate when something is approaching boiling point. Brewing maybe ?
