Awolusi Oluwabunmi Am Senegalese and I could not agree with you more. I overheard this one Nigerian girl say : I don’t do Africans. I was so sad for her and felt pity. Not only the girl was born in Nigerian, married to a Nigerian, speak her native language and she’s is so sad by trying to be American or white IDK. You just look at her and know she is African. But poorly, she is trying to be everything but herself and she is a grown woman with 3 kids. She even does not go by her Nigerian name she goes by a two letter acronym... she is so conflicted and confused but the sad part is she does not realize it. I am proud for people like Yemi Alade.. people shine and stand out when they embrace their origins. Be yourself, everyone else is taken. African culture rocks ❤️.
