- I decided to check out low water dam over the weekend. it is by far one of the best top water action I've had this year. hybrids and white bass were blitzing like crazy right after the big storm that passed by. none stop action all morning.
Rod- 9'6 St. Croix Legend elite salmon rod
Reel- Shimano Stradic FL
lure- weightless fluke and top water lure

How early were they blitzing ? One time I went they were hitting at like 6 already and we got there at 7 it was too late lol

It depends on the release and how close you are towards the turbines. We usually use 3/8oz-1.5oz. Heavier jig heads gives you the distance, but also increase the chance of it getting snag.

Keystone dam is good. Hopefully they open up soon. But yeah, just lmk. There's plenty of spots around yulsa area that is good.

I believe the release at the main dam (Kerr dam) was around 92cfs only. They didn't release much water that day

Hey i know it been about 6-7 mouths but when are the white bass active at low water dam cuz relatives have a good day then we go next day and gets skunked what are the best baits in that spot in particular?
It's kinda hard to tell, since i dont fish that area often. I went the day after this video and skunked. I did see some reports of people catching around that area now. But I'll say April and may will be the best time.
What size leader and braid your using?
Just 25lb mono for leader. And 15lb powerpro super slick for the main line
What is your go to lure you use to catch them consistently ?
For the actual dams, I usually use 3/8oz-1oz jig head with a fluke or small swimbait. Heavy topwater lures for when they are busting on the surface. For lakes and rivers like this. My go to lure is the weightless fluke.

No release on this day.
Water still flows on one side, even when the big dam is t releasing water

i haven't seen any catfish caught here. but if you would go upstream to the actual dam ( kerr dam). there's a lot of catfish there. very good during the summer

@@kabuatauteem7444 I've only been there a few time. It's a hit or miss area. Did my best there during the spawn. Not sure about next month. But early morning or late evening will be the best time
My bad. This spot is low water dam in Locust grove haha. Some reason i was thinking king pump back.. September may be the best yime to fish there
