Lawyer-activist Prashant Bhushan has been hitting the headlines of late (again) - this time for 'scandalizing the court' and posting tweets that were in 'contempt'. Be it mocking the present CJI SA Bobde for sitting atop a 50 lakh bike or raising questions over the actions of past 4 SC Chief Justices....Prashant Bhushan has been relentless in questioning the judicial system.
After a lot of heated arguments and asking for a sorry - the top court fined him a grand total of Re 1. While the verdict can be termed as a moral victory for Bhushan, the case left the country pondering over the current state of judicial system and many are raising questions over the working of the courts.

Am soo happy for this channel, we have recently interviewed 2 best individuals, Ravish Kumar and Prashant Sir.
We have sets standard pretty high. 👍
I had never imagined that someone this old could be my role model.
I too was against him a few years ago, but as time passed by, my biases weakened and realization crept in, that he is doing all of it for the common man and for the rule of law. The common man does not have the financial capacity to climb the steps of the SC. Looking to the SC for justice is out of question for him. The types of Prashanth, are the ones who felicitate justice for the common man at large.

Over the past few days I have come to respect and trust Prashant Bhushan, and if he says things about Arvind Kejriwal that are in some ways similar to what you had to say in one of your earlier episodes about the man, I believe I owe you an apology. I had reacted somewhat strongly to your comments at the time, but now realise that you were right and I was wrong.

The court gave two punishment--both are punishments--Re 1 or jail and barred from practice. Socrates drank hemlock as a result.
