I did a more thorough job cleaning my very dirty fan . First remove the screw on the bottom of the back panel 😊 then the top 2 , then slide the panel down towards the base . Use a butter knife in the notches to remove the panel .
Note : The fan with spindle “ all in one piece “can be taken out to clean . Remove those top two screws holding in the fan assembly in place and the one on the bottom nut holding it in place at the shaft .
Clean and reassemble.
Attention: do not get electrical wires and motor assembly wet ⚠️ risk of electrical shock

WD-40 should never be used on or in bearings. It is a very temporary fix and will actually flush out any lubrication that should be in there, if any. If you must, use sewing machine oil.

You can take out the fan and wash the front and inside the front panel. You can remove the entire fan from the middle and wash it too.
You must NOT get the very top or bottom part wet from inside the housing ! Electric components must not get wet .

Thanks for uploading this man, I was having an incredibly tough time taking it apart, I unscrewed everything but the backplate was giving me a ton of resistance like It wasn't supposed to come off, thanks to your video I realized I just needed to apply more pressure.
yeah, you have to be firm with it. If you can get a thin flat blade screwdriver in between the front and back case then slide it alone it will expose the slots where the clips are and make life much easier.
@@oneman2001 Unfortunately said fan has given out on me since I posted this, I gave it a nice deep clean and cleaned as much dust as possible off of it and a few weeks later it gave out, of course that happens after spending all of that time cleaning it lmao
@@kylebollard97 always the way. I followed the instructions to sure a rattling sound. Turned out it was the top but were the control panel is. Put a bit of tape on the seam and pushed the top on firmly so the clips are tight. Now peaceful bliss and cool air. It's not as good as the Dyson but costs a tenth of the price so no contest.

i need helpp, i have unscrewed everything and i cant open the case. i triedd pulling really hard but it wont come off. im using intertek oscillating fan help
edit: fixed using two butter knifes after another hour, the blades are very thin and hard to clean inside but it was worth a challenge.

@@jmartinez1989j Actually just use canned compressed air through the vents, much easier. Just blow it out outside.

Video shows two slots which point upwards and fit in the base.
What is missing is that THERE IS ONE MORE SCREW in between those two clips!
I had to use a long screwdriver (I used an electrical testpen) ... When you remove the base and look inside from the bottom, you will see a small gap, just big enough to squeeze in a narrow long screwdriver. In the video, we can see the hole where that screw fits in, but obviously it had been removed (and discarded, just as I have done) long ago. ... Taking it out is difficult, putting it back, impossible, AND QUIT UNNECESARY!!! The cover stays Perfectly in place with just these 2 clips at the bottom and the two screws at the top.

It is mentioned early on that there may be more screws at the base. Mine did not have one there, so manufacturers may have agreed with your opinion that it was quite unnecessary.
As Jane said he did mention there may be more screws at the base to watch for. I had the same exact brand but mine did not have a screw where you are stating it should. I'm a blond and I had this thing taken apart and put back together in 20 minutes so that should tell you quite a lot LOL that it's not hard at all you just got to be patient
"Re oil bearing"???
AFAIK most fans use a dry bearing made of bronze and the spindle is chrome moly steel. If the fan isnt spinning or squeeks by all means lube away but this often leads to other issues one of which is having to lube it over and over again.
I have has good success with just refinishing the inside of the bearing and the shaft with a light polishing with steel wool.
Just dont use wd40. I would try sewing machine oil.
wd40 is just penatrating oil
WD-40 is a solvent not penetrating oil

Except most fans nowadays for some fucking reason use torx screws so you have to buy a special screwdriver to open it.
Is that fan supposed to be yellow? white fans are modern-looking, but are impractical long-term
White plastic turn yellow if left long enough.
How to the case from a midea electric fan
Nice
stick a screwdriver in the front slots to stop the blades , WHILE OFF OF COURSE, then hit with an air compressor or a can of compressed air. AND BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE.

..I have no idea why these people do it this way. If you leaf blow any fan every 3 or 4 weeks it stays clean as new, wow so much work when leaf blowing takes about 2 minutes..lol.

Genius !! Thanks !! To this method I would only add plug fan in and turn it on while using leaf blower... I blew fan out while it was lying on its side, off and unplugged - I then plugged it in , turned it on and blew out out again and more lint came out ...
