- After more than 10 years of not playing Yu-Gi-Oh! I wanted to get back into the game with the release of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. Luckily I had the TCG content creator DifferentFight in my stream to guide me through all the new types of cards.

Honestly, this is probably the best way to show a content creator learning about Yu-Gi-Oh!. Have someone who knows about the game teach you the things Master Duel doesn't explain properly and to answer specific questions the game doesn't tell you.

@Kortrex: please read previous comment before this comment: When link monster where introduce konami got a problem because of the new mechanic for people that play in real life tournament, if only link monster follow they own mechanic they would not sell. So to make sure they sell. All extra deck monster when summoned from the extra deck are force into the extra monster zone, and you can only used one Extra monster zone, so in order to summoned another Extra deck monster you will be force to used the Monster already occuping the Extra monster zone as matterial to make the space. They are other way to free the space of the Extra monster zone, if your opponent take control of your monster in the extra monster they will place it in their main monster zone, and when the control return back to you, you chose a main monster to place it in. Also card effect that makes it move zone, interdimentional matter transporter it banish one monster untill the end phase, so if you used it on a monster in the Extra monster zone, when it return from banish you chose a main monster zone. Also at the time since all extra deck monster when summoned from extra deck where force into the extra monster zone, you need link monster to make your bigger play, so if a link monster points to two main monster zone, does two main monster being pointed extra deck monster when they are summoned from extra deck can used does pointed zone. When konami got enough money with link monster on April 1, 2020 Synchro, Xyz, Fusion monster summoned from the extra deck are no longer force into an Extra monster zone, and also no longer force to a main monster pointed by a link monster, and they change other rules as well. Also link monster the reason why the gaia link monster it work using a link 2 monster plus another monster to make a link 3, this is because gaia link monster minimum requirement is 2 monster, Unlike power-code talker that the minimum requirement is 3 monster and his link rating is 3. When it ask for just monster as matterial you can used token monster, and also if it as for normal monster you can also used token monster. The link matterial minimum if it restrict token monster it will say so. If a link 3 ask for 2+effect monster that mean if you need more then the minimum the extra as to be an effect monster. But if a link 3 monster says this 2 effect monster + monster this mean only the minimum requirement need 2 effect monster the extra needed don't need to be an effect monster. Link monster can never be in defense mode, and also can never be face-down in the monster card zone.

@Kortrex: you may know this by now. When a pendulum monster is send from the field to the graveyard, they are send to the face-up extra deck instead. As long as you have the pendulum scale set-up non-pendulum monster can also pendulum summoned, not pendulum summoned monster that are send to the graveyard goes to the face-up extra deck, only pendulum monster goes face-up in the extra deck if send from the field to the graveyard regardless if they are pendulum summoned or not, and regardless if they are spell card or monster card, pendulum monster are only spell card in the pendulum zone and you can used their pendulum effect. Pendulum monster can also be summoned like other monster, and in this case you used the monster effect. Pendulum monster can be special summoned and pendulum summoned from the face-up extra deck. When pendulum monster where introduce they where no extra monster zone, and you still draw 1 card going first, and the 2 pendulum zone where seperated from the 5 spell and trap card zone, and since they where no limite how many pendulum summoned out of the face-up extra deck, and plus hand, it became broken, and they fix it. By the one that goes first does not draw a card anymore going first, but that fix it going first, but that did not fix it going 2nd. So link monster where the one to nerf pendulum monster when they got introduce. Read next comment for the introduction of link monster.

Ancient Gears are super fun to play. When you summon the main boss monster being chaos giant, you just punch them to oblivion. And the best thing about it is... what are they going to do? Activate spells and traps? Chaos giant is immune to that. Activate their monster effects during the battle? Can't do that either due to Chaos giants effect to turn off their monster effects during the battle.
Yes! Plus Chaos Giant can attack as many times as there are monsters on the field and also still inflict piercing damage on defense positioned monsters. I love playing that monster haha
Yeah just make sure you go to bp asap because it is vulnerable to monsters during any other phase!

Are we playing the same game? I distinctly recall getting my poo-poo shoved in because my Chaos lacked the ability to shrug off monster effects. Otherwise, damned powerful fellow; able to attack as many times as the monsters on the opponent's field, and able to pierce defending monsters, doing damage regardless of their position.
I'm more of a Kaiju/Danger! player nowadays, but damned if it wasn't fun.

Everything that comes from the extra deck can be put in the extra monster zone but if you revive the extra deck monster from the grave it can only be put in the monster zone....
