New Magnaflow Exhaust for the GR Corolla!

- Hey guys! I'm back from my honeymoon and figured I would get the new Magnaflow exhaust installed on the GR Corolla! I did a lot of research and compared dozens of sound clips and decided that this was the best looking and sounding exhaust right now on the market for the GR Corolla. We had a few problems installing the valved system on the new exhaust but we'll address the problem in a different video and get everything running correctly. So to answer your question. The valve stays open. All the time at idle. It’s open from 0-2k rpm while driving then closes from 2k - 4k rpm to eliminate drone. Past 4k to redline valve opens again. It does not matter what drive mode you are in
Thank you for the info! We were wondering what was going on. That's interesting it closes half way through the rev range but I'm sure Toyota did a lot of testing and decided that was best for daily driving. I'd love it if you could just open and close it on command.
@@peter_sims same! I’ve been looking for a valved exhaust that I can control but it’s $3600-4250 😰 not sure if I’d want to spend that kind of money on an exhaust for an valve I can control. I might wait a little to see what other people make. I’ve just thrown on a 2j racing mid pipe for now for like $300 😂 that, the Turbosmart bov and a tune and it’s super fun for a daily!
@@ISSAIX yeah I can't justify paying that just to open and close the valve lol. And I need to look into a tune for sure, hopefully an ethanol kit will be available soon.
@@peter_sims yes! So I got a tune and they used ecutek which is still in beta so not full flex fuel is out yet but I had the option of doing a 93 tune or e40. I did the 93 for now till flex fuel is available. It wakes up the car! Even on 93. Definitely gained a lot of mid range power. You should look into it. My mid pipe is not loud enough but I just dont want to break the bank yet 😭. So I’m deciding milltek or magnaflow or go full send on the FI exhaust.

Lmao right!? Honestly, the GRC is more fun to drive but the CTR is more car especially for around 50k. It's really hard to say lol
I vaguely heard about a CEL that comes with this exhaust? Have you seen anything?

I go to Yimisport as I'm coming from Subarus and still trust my guys there to help me out with this stuff.

All this exhausts do not be sounding good to me 🤷🏻♂️. And just like this one they be expensive as fck. I do like the Apexi N1 but it sounds pretty much stock so maybe that’s why I like it. Really if I was to get it, it be because of the looks. Have a 2-J Racing midpipe coming 👍🏽 to pair with the stock exhaust..
Some cars won’t ever sound good. This is one of them.
