- Boo Boo Runs Wild is a stand-alone special parody of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series, The Yogi Bear Show.[1] It was made by The Ren & Stimpy Show creator John Kricfalusi and his company Spümcø. Boo Boo Runs Wild originally aired on Cartoon Network on September 24, 1999, along with A Day in the Life of Ranger Smith, a similar Yogi Bear-themed stand alone special. Despite Boo Boo being the arguable star of this short, it is title carded as "A Ranger Smith Cartoon".
Since its original debut in 1999, Boo Boo Runs Wild has aired multiple times on Cartoon Network's late night programing block, Adult Swim. From January 2006 until April 2006 Boo Boo Runs Wild aired every single Sunday on Adult Swim. On April 2, 2006, following the normal Neon Genesis Evangelion bump Adult Swim aired Boo Boo Runs Wild as an April Fool's Day joke, despite all TV listings showing Evangelion in its normal time slot. Adult Swim re-aired Boo Boo Runs Wild on Halloween night, October 31, 2008, as part of an advertised "Halloween Stunt" night, where obscure or randomly seen shows preempted the usual programming for that Friday night. In 2011 Adult Swim re-aired Boo Boo Runs Wild every night from January 10 until January 14, as part of their "DVR Theatre
Just when Ranger Smith is making sure everything in Jellystone Park is in order, Boo Boo enters a feral state due to his impatience with all the rules, much to the displeasure of Ranger Smith, who expected Yogi Bear to do this. Boo Boo's actions go from clawing the backsides off trees to savagely devouring honey from a hive. So, Yogi Bear, scared, decided to attack and fight with Ranger Smith, and the cartoon ends with Boo Boo turned back to normal by Yogi and Ranger Smith.

This short is..... DISTURBING, to say the very least. Especially what happens to Boo Boo and Cindy (at least Yogi is sparred).

And since Adult Swim usually airs shows with adult content (hence the name), shows with TV-Y7 and TV-G ratings would definitely the the cleanest content Adult Swim has ever aired.

I used watch this back in 2008 when I was I kid. I didn’t get the jokes when I was young, but now I get the jokes since I’m an adult. This cartoon is dirty and it makes sense why it’s on Adult Swim and not on Cartoon Network.

I realize that this is a cartoon from Adult Swim that was made years ago with the same sort of art and entertainment style as the cartoon Rin and Stimpy made for comedic and entertainment purposes only. But I would just like to say that bears, while they do not follow the same social codes and structures as human beings, are quite majestic and dignified. They are natural, but that does not equate to savage and unintelligent. For any children or people that do not know bears, what we see here does not accurately depict the natural bear in the natural habitat. They don't simply go through the wilderness grunting, drooling, looking blank, and wreaking havoc to plant and other life in their environment. They only do what they must and take what they need to survive and be healthy. Their way of life (the actual way of life not accurately depicted here) has been what their species has done for as far back as there have been bears and has kept them going this long. It is actually a good thing that they do not act more like human beings. With all the destruction, changing of nature, and killing humans do, the bear way of life is actually less harmful and more beneficial to the environment and the habitat in which they reside. Depending on who you ask, some would say that we humans can be much more savage and destructive than any bear.
