Very honest, straightforward, and yet vulnerable person. Of course. I say that in light of the rock n roll ethos. And she's very human. She calls out the environmental abuses as well as the absolute insanity of materialism and consumerism.

I have -- and do -- call Chrissie Hynde MANY (admiring and flattering) things -- but "adorable" would never, ever, EVER be one of them. Little kitties are 'adorable" -- Chrissie is a LION -- strong, aggressive, fierce, lithe, supple, beautiful, an extraordinary force of nature.
She is so smart and wise. I think she's right about everything she discussed, and I am so delighted to hear how much of a heart she has. I really respected her sharing her honest thoughts and viewpoints. I wish nothing but good things for her in her future.

I give a LOT of credit to this interviewer -- seems like someone Chrissie was familiar with and liked. I've seen interviews that aren't that old (NPR one comes to mind) when Chrissie had just finished her autobiography and she basically ripped the interviewer a new one for wanting to rehash things she's written about in her book (and why should she cannibalize her book sales by talking about the most interesting parts?) Chrissie has never liked talking about herself -- she is one of the least egomaniacal people out there and it really pisses her off when people try to glorify her and not focus on the causes she has fought for all her life and about her art.

I enjoy my own company, but then having been a recipient of the Grace of The Saviour. Who isn't religious, that keeps us at a distance. No He understands so I pray and lean on His promises. I fail, but He doesn't and His mercies are new every morning. And His faithfulness reaches to the skies. Your freewill is sacred. Christie, I’m an older guy who has just caught on to your music, LOVE IT ! I am also an Artist ( painter as well ) and your abstract pourtrait is really great ! The colors are a perfect “ complimentary colors “. I use them as well . The grey painting behind you on your right side is amazing, how the top plants seem abstract
But the plant holder looks like a realistic blue color. It looks smooth like perhaps done in oil. I often use oils on top of a dry acrylic base painting ! Thanks for sharing and Lord Bless from Winter Garden, Florida . Love

Great interview. Good questions and Chrissie's directness and independence is solid.
I always appreciate Chrissie's modesty -- and I suspect it would really piss her off to be called "modesty" -- and she always says she wasn't/isn't a "trailblazer" for women in rock. Very nice. But also just ridiculous! CHRISSIE -- YOU WERE ALWAYS IN A LEAGUE BY YOURSELF. Sorry -- but it's just the flat-out truth.
I am 64 and stand in awe -- yet I am 95% certain that, were I to meet Chrissie, she would take one look at me and decide I was a terminally unhip piece of fluff.
One of the best pieces of writing (and I've earned my living as a writer for 42 years) I've ever read was a little piece that Jay McInerny wrote about her her years ago in Esquire magazine -- a little essay in something they used to do called "Women We Love." And he hit the nail squarely on the head about exactly WHY men and women always loved Chrissie.I tore it out and still have it in a file, it was SO perfect.
I was in college when I first heard heard The Pretenders first album and reviewed their first show in S Francisco. And I can tell you that Joan Jett, Chrissie, Patti Smith, Debbie Harry ("Blondie") were all MAJOR "trailblazers" in the 1970s and 80s. Linda Ronstadt was killing it and amassing a long string of #1 hits year after year after year-- which people seem to have forgotten, as was Stevie Nicks. All deserve enormous credit and respect. But -- Chrissie was just always ...well, "Chrissie."

Ever since at least 1980, We the People of planet Earth have had the capability of providing the highest quality of food, the highest quality of clothing, the highest quality of shelter, the highest quality of healthcare, and the highest quality of education for each and every man, woman and child on the face of the Earth, and to do it in such a way that was in Harmony with Nature.
We already have gazillions of practical creative solutions that have not been implemented yet.
What we don't have is enough individuals devoting their time, energy, resources, and talents to the political process, esp the campaigns, to make sure that only the most Loving/most Wise among us become our public servants who will implement them on a grand scale.

They have blood on their hands.
They are complicit in the heinous crimes against humanity and Gaia Mother Earth.
They can never ever dare speak of Love, Peace, Joy, or Creativity.
The plutocratic families, the corporate oligarchs, and the international banksters, have got them exactly where they want them...out of their way.
Everything that is happening in the world today is our responsibility--each and every one of us, without exception.
Not everyone who is active in politics is Totally Enlightened, that's for sure, but all those who are truly Totally Enlightened are most definitely active in politics.
Politics is Life. It touches the full field of living. That includes art, philosophy, science, and spirituality.
From what we eat to what we drink, from what society deems acceptable behavior to what it considers a criminal offense, from who we interact with to how we interact with them, politics decides if we are free or if we live as slaves in bondage.
Politics determines what our children are taught in school, how we treat the ecosystem, what theories scientists investigate, how art is perceived, what version of history we recall, and how the future will remember us.
The dynastic plutocratic families, the corporate oligarchs, and the international banksters, make up factions like the Jesuits and the Zionists (like the Neocons, members of AIPAC, and the Christian Zionists). They dominate the politicians and the legal system and the financial system and the mainstream media and the corporations and the police and the military, and use all that to wreak havoc upon the People and upon our beloved Mother Earth.
They who are willfully ignorant and shamelessly apathetic about what they are doing are complicit in their heinous crimes against humanity.

i've been waking up and mentoring around 10 NEW uninformed/misinformed individuals every week.
It is imperative that each and every one of us do the same.
Start with your family, friends, and acquaintances.
Take them under your wings and help them to become well-informed on all the major issues of today.
Moreover, inspire them to devote their time, energy, resources, and talents to the political process, esp the campaigns, to make sure that only the most Loving/most Wise among us become our public servants.
When ready, each one of them will do the same. So on and so forth.
If you can't do 10, do 5. If you can't do 5, do 3. Just don't do nothing.
In addition, help build a Majority Voting Bloc in the city/town/village where you live.
Here in New York City, we are building a Majority Voting Bloc of at least 1 million individuals (a measly 20% of the electorate) who are well-informed, free of disinformation and misinformation, on all the major issues of today AND devoting their time, energy, resources, and talents to the political process, esp the campaigns.
That is all we need to win the Mayorship, at least 2/3 of the City Council, at least 2/3 of the Congressional seats, at least 2/3 of the State Senate seats and at least 2/3 of the Assembly seats.
We will make sure that only the most Loving/most Wise among us become our public servants.
We will change the laws and implement the gazillions of creative solutions we already have on a grand scale and make NYC a model of what's possible in the world today.
From the cities to the states to the nation to the world.
