Great video on a topic that I get asked about all the time. Unfortunately I have found that I like two dif heights. One fore platen and one for contact wheel. There is sort of a happy medium though. Would be happy to share my thoughts if you ever wanted. Not that a former sword makers opinion should matter to the general public.
Of course I'd love to chat about it. You know how much I love your channel Matt! đđ»đđ»đđ»
Awesome video Brian! Always a great day when you post content!!! Keep the vids coming
Thanks! Will do!
Thanks for the mention! Great info as usual Brian! đȘđȘ
Any time!
just an fyi. almost all tape measures are labeled with how long it is from where the tape comes out to the back side.
Thank you for the public service on this video and the great FB thread, Brian! Iâll post my contribution to the thread when I get home, on Sunday. Cheers!
Cheers Jon! Thanks bud! đđŒđđŒđđŒ
All my Gen 5 parts look like they are arriving Monday, so this is a very timely post. My old grinder pedestal was never quite the right height AND the Revolution sits higher than my old grinder too, so I'll have to take a good look at that height before I build on it.
It's worth feeling it out. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the great video Mr. House and I appreciate the mention. You are 100% correct that we only use the dust collection for handle material. đđ
Yeah man! đđ»đđ»đđ»
Love it. Can't wait to see more updates an projects and many more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep forge lit. Keep Making. God bless.
Thank you Jared! I appreciate you bud! đđŒđđ»đđŒđđ»đđŒđđ»
A lot of great ideas, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Great video, Brian! I'll be building my Gen4 soon, so this was perfect timing!!! I'm 6'5", so it is always important for me to set everything up perfectly, to prevent injury and fatigue! Thanks for sharing my brother! ... P.S. Just got Fiber Optic Internet today, so I'll be on CZcams very soon! đđđ»đšđ„đȘ
Sweet! Thanks Bob! đđŒđđŒđđŒ
Gotta jump back in here and say I appreciate the shoutout! Awesome video as usual Brian!
Any time!
Great stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it đđŒ
Outstanding thank you
Glad you enjoyed it đ
Due to having a really bad neck, I had to raise mine way up (probably 6" or so higher) so I was not looking down as much or a few hours of grinding would be hell the next day. I have had to put a bigger spark guard on and wear a full face shield as it now wants to throw everything straight at my face. I also wet grind all my blades post HT so I have to wear a waterproof apron as well. My dust collector is a 2HP dust extractor with a 6" steel input into a 55 gallon drum (water and all) then into another 55 gallon drum made into a cyclonic separator then 20ft of 8" hose to the fine dust filter and fan motor. The water spray takes out most of the sparks, the distance takes out the rest. I have three 2x72 and 2 disc grinders on a single table on castors, I can pull the drum under whichever machine I am using. My hobbies can get out of control...
spiderweb gussets for the wiiiiiiiiin!
Better than saw blades cut into quarters! đ€Ł
@@HouseMadeUS well both fo those are cool and one generates massive engagment so... I would say it's 100% worth it. lol
Matt kriebs of Rock SOLID scales btw
I've got CRS Ben. I'm old! đ€Ł I'll correct it in the next vid.
@HouseMadeUS đ no worries Matt is making some cool custom scales man.
Thanks for a great video, Brian!
By the way, I have a little question: is 2 hp motor with ~3000 rpm sufficient for 2x72 gen5 ? because it seems that motors with higher rpms are not available in my location.
Thanks in advance!
Yes that will work just fine. Enjoy! đđŒ
Golden hands
Thank you!
How much does a grinder in disassembled form cost?"
Making me feel bad about my bench mount.
Nah, I had mine bench mounted for a really long time.
What happened to the first rendition of this video? I was watching it when it vanished.
Bad audio about 13 mins in. I had to re export.
@@HouseMadeUS understandable, I didn't make it that far in the original posting. Thanks for letting me know.
Sir I am from India and I wanna build an belt sander but unfortunately the items r not readily available in my country. Specially the wheels even the iron bar r not s thick. Will u b kind enough to tell me how much it will cost me if I wanna buy one of urs and can u courier it in India.
Wheels to India would be about $100 USD for the shipping.
@@HouseMadeUS thank u Sir. But m little confused 100 $ only for shipping or that include the wheel price.
