    This is the closest
To this friend that I've been
    I hope you find it
On greener ground and bluer skies
I hope you don't think less of me
    If I'm cold
I don't want to watch you go
    and I'll cry
Until I can't see the whites of your eyes
For two more years (two more years)
    We'll be
    Old enough to know better
    Young enough to pretend
This is the last of my letters
I hope you find my home
And I hope you're the first one in
I know it won't be the same
I'll be there if you need anything
At all you want to be
Run around the world with me
    State your distance but
It's not a million miles away
If this is what will really make you happy
    Then I'll say
    We'll be
    Old enough to know better,
    Young enough to pretend
This is the last of my letters
    Until I see you,
    See you again

Amen to this. High school was still just as shitty then as it is now or whatever. My fondest memories of this song? Listening to it on my DISCMAN (oh god), eating my lunch alone in the library. Cool huh?

Well, you were a thousand times cooler than I was in high school...
I was all NIN and TOOL and "Polly" by Nirvana on repeat.
      It's a good cutting song.
So is almost the entire Mer De Noms album.
THAT'S what I did in high school...
Just could never manage to cut deep enough, so here I am.
Bad day, bad day, bad day, that all it is, it fades as quick as it swells, just hold on, buttercup...

i started off with Something To Write Home About, but once i got into 4 Minute Mile, I could sense the raw emotion poured into every song. This album is great, and each song is as powerful as it can be. I could listen to this whole album on repeat for the rest of my life, hell, ive had it on repeat for the past 2 months

This song switches up more than any I've heard. Like 5 songs in one. This and 'better half' are the best. Takes me back to when my kids were in their teens.

@wrarmatei Well, I like it because it was an interesting story and it was one of the few novels that I've read that managed to keep my attention. I'm not much of a reader myself, especially with novels and fiction. I was forced to read it in English in Grade 7, but it entertained me and with a novel, I expect nothing more than that. I also saw the movie and thought it was brilliant as well.

@wrarmatei maybe it means more to kids because it was written by a girl who was the same age as the kids reading it. i personally love the book. even if it's a little bit badly written, the story is what gets kids into it. i feel like you should at least recognize the fact that kids these days even take an interest in reading. maybe you should re-read it after you get your head out of your ass. just because it didnt connect with you doesnt mean it cant mean something to anyone else.

well, this band came around on the heels of an emo explosion, but by the time they released their first albums that garnered any notorietyu, most other emo bands had broken up. pretty much everything that came after 1997 is "third wave emo", which i really dislike. it's also notable as being the least innovative type of emo.
this band isn't terrible, a lot of the bands that they influenced are though. and in the grand scheme of things, they weren't that inventive.
