Oh, you are a genius. I was individually dropping the smaller pieces on one-by-one. HTV Transfer paper is WIN!! And the hair dryer? My kids would LOVE to sit there for 30mins and do this LOL Thank you.

Hi, I love how you did this without having to buy the screen, and the cheap way of using freezing paper and parchment paper. You learn something new everyday. I'm going to try this! Wish me Luck!!!!!!
One more thing, the reason it doesn't bleed is because you used the speedball paint (screen print paint), or was it the technique and steps.

I have been making these t-shirts for years, but never thought to use transfer tape. I literally bought a tiny little iron for repositioning the centers of "o's" and "e's", etc. Thanks for the tip, you just saved me a boat load of time now! Oh, and also, if you use spray paint, you can blend colors really easily, the stencils come out really crisp and sharp, and adds an "edge" to them. I'm trying to find out if anyone has tried water colors with this technique for canvases and wall hangings. I just found a cool water color technique using sharpies and rubbing alcohol, but worried the water color would bleed under the stencil? Sorry, and another question: Can you use the transfer tape over and over again?

Ahhhhhh yes, screen printing ink....I see it still takes forever to dry. You'd be much better off using a really good water-based acrylic multi-surface paint like E'tac Private Stock or the Wicked line from Createx, both of which I use all the time and dry MUCH faster. Either one works great on t-shirts....I also use them on leather jackets--a couple of light coats of a flexible clear and they're permanent on leather. Can also be used on paper, metal(cars and bikes), helmets & goalie masks, silk neckties, and more. I normally spray these paints through my airbrushes but have also used them with liner brushes, like outlining lettering on leather. My user icon above left is all E'tac on a 5" x 7" paper envelope.
The freezer paper trick I just found out about a couple days ago--almost 40 years of airbrushing and I never knew you could iron it onto a shirt for a basic stencil! Of course most of my stencils are very elaborate affairs with multiple pieces so I'd still use ordinary poster board and spray adhesive, but I can think of uses for the freezer paper. The HTV transfer tape I've never seen before, I'll have to look into that, it's interesting.
Thanks for posting this video--learn something new every day!

Would u mind sharing the exact setting you use on the cricut for the cut? I have a difficult time getting clean un-mangled cuts.....and I have web-chatted with cricut and they are completely un-helpful. Is your mat brand new? I find brand new causes too many problems removing the freezer paper without tearing. I've read other tuts and some have suggested using the lightweight mat but it looks like you are using the standard grip? Any tips you have with your success would be seriously greatly appreciated! TIA!!

    • @ProjectsPolishandGlitter

Christy Greene I use "paper" setting, but any others have to use a different setting. I recommend a really sticky mat and super sharp blade. Also do some test cuts on different settings. Heard people like, wax paper, paper +, washi tape, and many others! I hope this can be helpful!! 😊
