I just can't believe this actually exists. I am very picky with music, bands and personal favourites but this is the best song ever I heard for years. This a perfect produced piece of music with an outstanding voice, tight playing, amazing 80s sounds, bittersweet lyrics and a mood that makes you feel happy and sad at the same time, an outstanding video that reminds me of Stanley Kubrick movies, a well thought subtile message and a melody that stays in your brain and cuts your soul into two pieces. Thanks for this song!

@Zoltan Na, they've actually been together since they were 15/16, so about 2003/4. After school, they were known as Fear of Flying for a while, had a fanbase and everything, and a much different sound. Farewell To The Fairground was a song they penned in their FoF days, but it was very different to the White Lies version, it was more like Talking Heads, who they cite as their biggest influence even as White Lies

I never know how White Lies makes such a gorgeous music that you really can dance to but still feel all the deepest shades of melancholy and a real perfect blue. That's how the soul sounds for me. Thank you so mach for your music! And I am really amazed with videos since their first works. That video is the best for me. It feels like not just music video but a short film about all these people with their difficult fates, emotions, feelings and desires. Just gorgeous.

Tienes razón todavía hay un poco de calidad en los 2000s ya que en los 80s aparecieron muchas bandas muy buenas en los 90s también con bandas como nirvana, Pixies,rise Agains, REM etc está banda canadiense tiene algo del post punk 80s

Es una gran banda. El primer álbum es magnífica y desde ahí han evolucionado mucho, pero son perder esa esencia propia.

Laid back verse with a catchy bassline cutting through, great pre-chorus, super catchy and big sounding chorus. Beefy production, great sounding instruments and effects. 83 BPM is VERY head-nod inducing :) Just a killer song waiting to be a smash hit imo.
