President Nelson Invites Arizonans to Turn Homes Into Sanctuaries of Faith

  • More than 60,000 Latter-day Saints and invited guests at a football stadium in Arizona were encouraged by a prophet Sunday night to increase their faith practices in the home.
President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints taught Church members to do this by making their homes centers of learning and spirituality. Acknowledging that this will look a little different for everyone, he invited them to “pray each day intentionally” about how to do this. Such a cause, President Nelson said, “is that of Almighty God.”
President Nelson’s historic visit is believed to be the single largest gathering of Latter-day Saints in Arizona and among the largest crowds to hear a president of the Church in its 189-year history. He was joined at State Farm Stadium by his wife, Wendy, and President Dallin H. Oaks (one of his counselors in the First Presidency) and his wife, Kristen.

I love President Nelson so very much, and know that he is a true prophet of God!! I've heard so many government officials, who probably aren't members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, express gratitude for president Nelson, and what the members of the Church are doing to bless mankind. They express how important religions are in blessing others, and how important religious freedom is to us.

In fact many churches also use these techniques to cause "Good feelings" in people so they think that the it is coming from God.

All other Christians religious leaders do the same. A true Prophet declares prophecies, recieves and conveys true revelations from God, a true Prophet is not popular, worshiped, treated like a celebrity, does not ride in Limo, does not need bodyguards, a true prophet usually passes unnoticed, is often rejected even by his own people and those who claim to be believers, does not accept adulations, does not live off church money, boldly declares the truth to the world regardless of consequences, is not afraid of political consequenses, does not praise corrupt politics, is not politically correct and is very likely to be cast into prison or killed. A true Prophet clearly displays the power of God with him, heals the sick and performs miracles just like the prophets of old. God is the same always. If there is a Prophet today he is very unlikely to look like a religious leader, he will probably be labeled as crazy, apostate or something else but a Prophet!

In 2006 ,President Hinckley rededicated the Santiago Temple and for those mysterious things of life ,he got off his car along with a couple of brothers right in front of me and the past September although some security guys tried to prevent me from being next to him, I was lucky enough to see in the first row how President Nelson dedicated the Concepción Chile Temple. To answer this question you need to act. to believe and not to act is just a step in the right direction but it isn't the full walk. In James 2:17 we learn that 'Faith without works is dead being alone' Faith is to apply the principles (like keeping a commandment such as prayer, being baptized, serving others) Faith is bigger it is to walk the walk and try to do the things He is asking us to do.

In other words, it was probably a thousand times cheaper to rent the place for a night, than to build a building. It was the smart thing to do, the frugal thing to do.
