I am journaling since September 2007 for almost 14 years writing by hand and my life started improving since 2011
📝Summary:
🎯Part 1: Why should you journal?
• R1: To find clarity of thoughts.
• R2: To document things of your life. (The more you forget, The less you learn.)
• R3: To remember your past. To see how your older version looks.
🎯Part 2: How to journal?
1. Structured: Where you use a framework to journal, you answer some set of questions.
2. Unstructured: There are 3C's of doing it.
• L1: Collect: Writing/Noting down the topics/subjects anything that you want to write in your journal about.
• L2: Consolidate: Where you more elaborate on those collected topics, you write your complete thing in your journalling.
• L3: Connect: Read your previous entries of journal, where you can find PATTERNS in yourself (Self Awareness and Self Reflection)
I keep a journal and have been keeping it for the last 42 years. If someone wants to see real change in themselves this is an absolute necessity. It helps to the self on track between your aim and realisation of the aim. I really need to get in touch with you Dr. Sid .

I usually do unstructured Journaling but there are days when I forget to write and don't read my old journals so the improvement that I might have made goes unnoticed.

It should be the other way round because the limbic system is Dil and PFC is dimag, so "Limbic system ki sunu ya pfc ki"

The thing is I had started journaling a year back & I do it regularly. As Dr. Sid says about structured & unstructured journaling, I were used to do unstructured journaling at the starting but the fascinating thing for me is I don't know how I've shifted to structured journaling, well... At starting I was curious to know about the things that I will miss if I haven't watched it but then realised that all the things he says I've done it & I realised that 3C part of journaling doing it since from long time. Well... Thank you Dr. Sid for your content ❤ & I'm very grateful to you becuz ur helping me in the journey of self awareness. Great to see U in another video 🙂

It’s funny how older things come back in fashion. I used to write letters to God, everyday and share my feelings, emotions as a best friend. I never knew that I was in a habit of writing journals in a way and that developed a strong relationship with God. 🙏🏽 But life got in the way and I stopped all of that. Picked up a few times when I realized but was never consistent with it. So now I can make time for a 5 minute journal expressing gratitude to God, what things I need to do in a day that would make it a great day and a few daily affirmations. 🙏🏽 Happy April 🌸🌱
It's like mindfulness and again you can go into the memory or any event of your life ❤

I am also doing on Google Sheets, but via Google Forms. I have a simple form for ready recording the thoughts. They all collect in a Google Sheet with automatic date and time tag.

Did unstructured, this three step is so valuable! Dr. Sid you really know how things work. How many times should we connect in a week? And yes we forget a lot, amazed how much. Our brain is made for creativity not for storage hence journaling is a great way to store all our emotions, frustrations, ideas, etc!

When I write my emotions I relax a bit and I continue for two to three days but then when everything is going okay I forget to write and feel those heavy emotions and get stuck there and then I write again and this pattern continues. I'm not consistent with it. I'll try your solution. Love your videos ❤

I started journalling last month ...I journaled for like 15 days then stopped for 20 days then again journaled for 2 days and stopped all together and haven't touched the book since ...my main issue is consistentcy in anything or everything 😕 I listen to so many advices but do not implement just procrastinate

I write down daily in my dairy about what I feel on that certain day and other things of that day even good or bad . I do this daily from last 4 years
Everytime I start journaling...just as resolution of the new year and then after max two weeks I gave up on it....bcoz my mind thinks that there nothing special in my day to write it down...so I can't continue it the whole year...and the loop goes on since 10 years now....😢

Attach a goal. And then state the progress in journal. Hope it helps.
Goal can be of fitness/ gym streak/ study routine/ relationship check etc.
Timestamp: 0.34. Regular journaling didnt help much but i found a lot of comfort in journaling via blogs. When i sit down to write on a topic that has had an impact on me, it allows me to channel all my thoughts into a structured story telling format and somehow it worked for me. It allows me to express abt that topic almost fully. Regular journaling used to get too random and scattered. So, I’m keen to see the rest of the episode to see if what you suggest is very different from what im doing!
I tell everyone to sit and journal their thoughts and happenings and how they felt about them and what they could actually be... But when I sit down to journal, I almost always end up scribbling a poem or sketching a story 🙃

It's a good idea to write them down in a diary so we can remember them later. I started doing this a month ago, and it's been really helpful for me. I call it as "Deep Realisations" 😅.
