  • In this episode I visit RSPB Leighton Moss in search of Otters, Great Egrets, Marsh Harriers and a glimpse of one of natures great wonders - A Starling Murmuration.
If you've not visited this amazing reserve, it's definitely worth a visit.
So why not come along and see what's on offer!

It’s a fantastic reserve. Make sure you get there for first light and there’s a very good chance of seeing the otters 👍🏻

I live not far to the south of Leighton Moss at Lancaster and I’ve been following the Starling Murmurations on a regular basis this year. Normally they murmuration and Roost in the reeds at Leighton Moss but this year they have been flying over the reserve and murmurating and roosting about half a mile to three quarters of a mile to the north at Silverdale Moss. My car was covered in their droppings yesterday evening.

Thanks for your comment Gary I think a trip to Silverdale Moss will have to be on the cards then. You certainly live in a beautiful part of the country

@@danwillis_photography Thanks Dan, yes I love it up here, there's so much variety but you live in a great place too. Is it the Peak District you live?

@@danwillis_photography The best place to park for the starlings is Waterslack Road. There's a layby big enough for about 5 cars or so.
