Whats the point in players signing multi year contracts if they can just demand a trade whenever they want? Shouldn't every player just be on a single year deal? ESPN is terrible about instigating this kind of stuff too! When Lillard was on the blazers, I had to listen to these guys talk about Lillard getting out of Portland every off season for about 4-5 years before he even demanded a trade and wanted out. I'm tired of these small market teams get thrown under the bus by these large media markets. It's bad for the league.
ESPN is not instigating anyone. The players are adults. The point of signing and demand a trade is secure the bag before leaving. It's also good for the teams because most of the times they won't lose the players for nothing. Win-win

Don't forget the cavaliers won 17 out of 18 games with the players they have now. During that run, Garland was not involved. When Garland returned from injury J b gave him back his thirty three minutes, and the team returned to mediocrity. This is why j b was fired

That’s the PROBLEM. The Cavs organization, coaches, and asst coaches don’t “DEVELOP” Mobley in a way that he can get better and or he doesn’t have the internal drive to be better. They’re going into YEAR 4 of dude and he still can’t hit a midrange jumper, 3 pointer, and his BODY LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME as when he came in the league. #5 pick in the NBA draft OKORO is a lost cause as well 💯. Stop with the “he’s one of the better defenders” talk like he’s DRAYMOND or something. Buddy constantly got cooked by BANCHERO, Tatum, Brown etc and CANT SHOOT EITHER!
NO WAY Allen comes back after the organization questioned his toughness for not taking medical shots to address the rib injury during the playoffs. Not sure why they would question a guy who once played 81 straight games for the team.

Probably in the minority here but had they not threw their final game so they'd face Orlando (whom they barely beat), these questions may have been answered already. The fit between Mitchell & Garland,as well as that of the Allen / Mobley pairing were the same questions going into last off-season. Now, another full season has been played,they barely beat the team they tanked to play, before understandably losing to Boston and they still don't know what they have.
Orlando ended up being one of the toughest, most physical teams in the playoffs.
This Cavs squad MIGHT need to make a choice between Mitchell and Garland, but they should never trade Allen or Mobley.

Throw the house at Mitchell and get him to sign and make him the PG, fired JB IMMEDIATELY, bring in a couch who has a decent offensive, trade garland for a 6”6 and above wing, try to get LeBron back, draft Branny. Mobley is untouchable right now, let him develop and give him a couch who will actually use him on the offensive. Get rid of Niamg, give his minutes to Morris. Use Porter Jr (develop him). Keep Okoro, keep Sam M, keep Thompson.

I feel like game 5 showed us the importance of spacing in the modern nba game. I thought the cavs were competitive up until the 4th quarter. Boston still dominated. Mobely and morris had great games. Garland has shown flashes of being a floor general. I would even say he plays better without Mitchell. Mobely and garland showed great chemistry though the pick and roll in game 5. I think the cavs should consider moving both Allen and Mitchell in the offseason for pieces that fit around Allen and garland.

I'd listen to trades for Garland, perhaps package him with Strus for some better talent but yeah when only 5 of your 15 players are any good then 2nd round max it is

I don’t see Donavan staying. Just think back to when the trade happened. He thought he was going to NY and was really excited only to find out he’s going to Cleveland. Now, he said all the “right” things and being excited to be in Cleveland and such but we all know NY is where he wanted to be. NY now has the draft picks to offer Cleveland. I believe it’s 11 first round picks in the next 7 years. I’d offer 4-5 of those picks along with some role players to match salary. Pair him up with Brunson and the crew and call it a day. Pretty much, guarantee yourself a ECF birth.
I can't see it esp when Donovan ans Brunson are virtually the same player and negative defensively. Given the way the Knicks have played in these playoffs I'd maintain the roster they have(unless they improve it for a true MVP caliber player e.g. KD)and make a tweak here and there, the main issue for them this year has been injuries to their core players. Spida a good player but he doesn't move the needle in their chip hopes and IMO he's not a good complement to JB. Plus they're a win away from reaching the ECF anyway and doing it without 4 key players including Randle, if 2 of those guys were healthy they'd probably be there already!!
