They're a high-school band and this was their first time performing on TV in front of big audience, which might explain lead singer's awkwardness and lack of charisma. I actually kinda of like it, it's a cute song and a massive props to them for writing the song themselves and having the courage to perform on the biggest music show in Europe!

Here are "translated" lyrics and down below some infos:
    We were at the disco,
    When LPS were playing.
    Fičo (lead singer) was pitchy,
Žvižej (pianist) screwed up his solo.
It was at that moment that I got the feeling
That you're looking away too much.
    That look, full of unfaithfulness
Was already too familiar to me.
    Chorus 2x:
    Because I'm looking at you
When you're leaving with someone else.
    I want you,
But you're giving your heart away to another.
We're dancing, but only in my dreams.
    No, you're not coming back.
The pictures are looking at me from the walls,
    Following my every step.
    Each one reminding me
My heart is soaking in tears.
    (The song slows down)
With every beat my blood runs slower.
    You're still here,
    Even though you're not.
    This scent of yours,
    Waking me up every morning.
    But from now on,
I'll go to the disco by myself.
    (They pick up the pace)
    And watch the same movie,
    But I'll play my role.
    (Chorus)
    No you're not coming back
    (Chorus)
They are a high school band, called LPS (Last Pizza Slice), never before performed like this, on TV - they're around 18 years old. They got a chance to perform at EMA - first they won a competition called EMA Fresh, which is a competition for young still unestablished artists/bands. After that they won EMA semi-finals and went to finals, where they won the whole thing.

well uh it’s more like this:
      with you at the disko
      listening to lps
      fičo squealing like a whistle
      žvižej’s solo was a mess
and even then i had the feeling
that you look away too much
that unfaithful look you gave me
told me we were out of touch
      i’m watching you
as you take his hand and leave the party
      wanting you
as your choosing him to share your heart with
      dancing to
all the dreams where you are still beside me
      no, you’re not coming back
      i’m watching you
as you take his hand and leave the party
      wanting you
as you’re choosing him to share your heart with
      dancing to
all the dreams where you are still beside me
      no, you’re not coming back
as i walk i feel you watching
from the pictures on the walls
      each has memories to borrow
soak the heart in tearful sorrow
      make the coming of tomorrow
      fall down slower
      you’re still here
      even though you’re gone
      moving on
yet that smell of yours still lingers on
      i’m waiting for
a new song to hit the floor
and watching the same movie without playing my own role
      i’m watching you
as you take his hand and leave the party
      wanting you
as you’re choosing him to share your heart with
      dancing to
all the dreams where you are still beside me
      no, you’re not coming
      you’re not coming back, yeah
      not coming back
      i’m watching you
as you take his hand and leave the party
      wanting you
as you’re choosing him to share your heart with
      dancing to
all the dreams where you are still beside me
      no, you’re not coming back
see how it flows better, it’s more poetic, and makes more sense? don’t trust google translate.

I freaking love this!!!! The aesthetic, the stage is super fun and precise. I love his voice so much, he really feels like the only one to sing it. I wish he had a bit more charisma and was a tad louder but I really like how it's not trying to be anything it's not. It's just a fun, disco song!

The lead singer apparently said that the camera crew told him to stand still so they could get good shots... I hope they can change that in Turin, because this is probably the only good song in the past 15 years that we've send to the Eurovision.

I really dig this 70s disco sound and LPSs quirkiness, this is one of my favourites! I think there have been some good entries from Slovenia in the last 15 years like Sebi, Here For You and Round And Round (and Voda in 2020 which I really liked). But the best is still Energy from 2001. Sooooo much better than the undeserved Estonian winner that year.

I really like that disco vibes and the rhythm of course! I would like to see them moving more since it is a "danceable" song. But it is understandable coming from a young band with no experience in a stage. Also, singing a disco/jazz Slovenian song it is unique and that's great when it comes to Eurovision. A catchy and nice song, I wish them to qualify for the final.

The rules of Eurovision are that live instruments are NOT allowed to be played live on stage to be heard in the performance, and the backing track has to be prerecorded. This rule has been in place since 1999.
As for singing, the lead vocals must be live, while backing vocals can be either prerecorded or live. This rule has been in place since 2021

It is a grower. The only thing the lead singer lacks is some connection with the audience. He looks a bit toneless and that prevents him to make us feel the song. They have a looooooong time ahead and if they address their issues and have a cool staging, they will shine for sure. Good luck 🧚🏻‍♀️

A really mystery part of Eurovision is that you can have a nice song, voice and lyrics but you need to rememver about whole staging things - lights, deco and movement. Without contact with people it's kinda weird on the stage. I think they need to make great staging to shine bright in Turin

I'm pretty too yeah and curious what's allowed; though I do know that in one of the national selection festivals (don't know which country) one of the artists withdrew when she found out she couldn't use live autotune during the Eurovision semi and final iirc so that's something at least!

Well as Eurosong should represent nationality characteristics this song just does that. Slovenians are bit serious ppl, not as Macedonians or Serbians who are very dancing type of nation.
To me song is very appropriate for Eurosong, very decent, compared to Norway or was it Sweden for example where wearing masks scares audience, and it’s classical Eurovision song as it used to be in 70,80,90s.
Song is emotional in Slovenian but lead singer should be bit relaxed. Maybe as first-time performer he did very well but will need to relax in the future.
I wish there would be more young performers from other countries as well.
If ppl remember before rule of Eurovision was that only new singers could actually compete.
