A lot of people on CZcams that have carpentry channels don’t really sound like they know what their doing. But you sound like you know a lot, when I build stuff I watch your videos for some inspiration for joints, braces etc. Keep up the amazing work your super funny and entertaining
great video and a really cool setup. I actually think the curved piece might be hurting your dust collection, I know its to keep the airflow close to the saw, but i think its also acting as a deflector guiding the chips up and away from the vacuum ports before the suction can slow them down. if you just had the square box with the downdraft the chips wouldn't have such an easy path out and many would hit the back top, slowing them down and letting the suction grab hold
Love watching your videos. I used to do woodworking for 4-H with my grandpa when I was in high school. Watchkng your videos has got me back into doing it again. Thank you for that and all the great ideas and advice you have shared as well!
That's a mighty fine chop station ya got there. I like that stop block track system, clean and simple. I think a nice addition would be to inlay a ruler on each side, one that reads left to right and one that reads right to left. Because even with all that storage, you know damn well you're gonna find yourself searching for that tape measure that likes to always disappear.

I love the grain and edge detail you paid attention to for your cabinets. I'm always blown away by woodworkers on CZcams ignoring details like that. For your dust collection though I can't help but feel like you would have way more success in terms of overall dust capture if you brought the dust collection in from the top since your current design is fighting the natural upward flow of the miter saw's dust port.

John. Love your videos and yet another great project. If you pause your video at 9:28, you'll see that the small black deflector installed on your saw is kicking the dust upward, away from your new dust collection. If you can, I'd remove that deflector. Also, you have a lot of open area for dust collection with all of your slots, which slows down the air velocity, and actually decreases the effective collection area of your dust collection.
