    Man, nothing makes me happier than seeing all you and your dad's hard work pay off to make that gorgeous 830 look and run like new again. I know that old industrial 830 will get there in time too. JD 830's are my dream tractor, I keep saving up money until I see the right deal come along and will have your videos to help me with some repairs and maint I might need to do. Thanks for the video, take care!

    That is a beautiful tractor and i love that sound. It brings back do many fond memories years ago on the farm. We farmed four hundred acres and had four tractors. Two MM's and two Nohnnie poppers.

    • @jonelsonster
      @jonelsonster  Před 6 dny

      Yeah, the 830 is a fun one. Back in the late 50s and early 60s I don't even know what other big tractors were out there. I know case had their 6 cylinder diesel 900 which was probably about the same size as the JD 830. What was IH's biggest tractor in 1959 or 1969? Or Allis? Or Oliver? Or MM?

    Awesome. We had a 730 diesel when I was a kid but sold it in the mid 1980s. In the late 2000s dad was semi-retired and bought/restored a 1960 830 with a pony motor. A few years ago he passed away and I have it now. At the moment it's getting an oil leak and some other minor things fixed but it looks just like yours but without a chrome stack.

    • @jonelsonster
      @jonelsonster  Před 4 dny +1

      We will use it for tillage in the spring and fall. And we could use it to haul hay, but since it doesn't have a 1000 rpm PTO, we can't use it for our hay operation. And then we will use it for plow days, tractor pulls, tractor drives, and parades too. So, yeah, it will still get dirty, but will only get less than a hundred hours a year.

    You should look at lasersabers youtube channel. He built ultracapacitor battery replacements for his cars. I am using the same tech on my classic tractors. No more batteries, no leaks, better CCA's, can't go dead and freeze. 1 million cycle lifespan. Great if you have multiple old machines.

    I'm just curious.Is the cab going back on the tractor

    • @jonelsonster
      @jonelsonster  Před 7 dny

      It's not going back on this tractor. Mainly because it makes the tractor too tall to fit into most of our shops/sheds. We still have it, so if someone out there wanted it for one of their projects, they're welcome to have it... They'd just need to pick it up. Or we do have a few other tractors it could be put on: one of our R's or my 830-industrial. The catch is that it was welded onto the tractor when we got it. So I'd want to change that to a less permanent mounting option if I put it on my 830 out or R's.
