I've been making furniture all my life and in the last five years I've been making furniture for my children. I believe the internet has opened so many doors for the craftsman that did not exist twenty years ago. Had the internet existed in my youth I would have adopted furniture making as a means of support. I am now a happy 75 year old and wish those who are younger and supporting themselves with their craft all the luck and prosperity life has on offer.
You just met another Dad that cries thinking about their kids. My girls mean everything to me and yea I get it. We both are so lucky to have that love. Mine are 28 and 25 and just amazing. Really like what you are doing. Thank you.
That’s arm pit/compression of a branch explanation just made me understand something I’ve been struggling with for ages! Great explanation! Great video!
And of course, from the other side, finally understanding (after 25, 30) what a good dad you have/had, and contemplating just how much he cared (and got involved), can make you feel awestruck/grateful. Sheesh, how can I ever repay all of the work/sacrifice that he did for me?
I didn’t think it was possible to like PJ any more than I already do, but, now I love him and his wife and his kids! I sure cried for this one. I can’t believe he has only been doing this for 10 years! Oh and I would buy that white resin table IN A HEARTBEAT!!! Justin, you have outdone yourself with this one!
What an outstanding dude. Great job highlighting him and his personality Justin. PJ: I'm so glad you're in the community! I just wish you were in Texas so I could have you running my mills and making tables for my shop! Keep being awesome.
Great video I am pretty much like you. I’ve been woodworking since I have been 10 my dad was a farmer and I live on his property, I’ve always work in the woodworking furniture making cabinet maker, I was self-employed remodeling kitchens for 35 years for the last 6 years I’ve been working at The University of Wisconsin Madison ain their cabinet shop. Building lab cabinets, Doors, office areas, In the campus looking good . It gets me in interesting situation and materials. I recently bought a sawmill Now I’m gonna double The size of my shop. At the farm. I would love to do videos like you guys doing I feel I have a lot to offer when I retire, I’m 60 now so It will be a couple years yet.
Thank's Justin for introducing to us such a great MAN, such a great HUMAN ! Under his muscles is hidden a huge heart. He really deserves all our respect ! People like Paul should not be so unique, we should have one in every town !
Pj... youve become a friend of mine. Youve also been a HUGE inspiration to me, and continue to be.. i am literally at your 9 years ago, right now.. I greatly appreciate you, and everything you do. Furnitire off the side of the road, COMPLETELY broke, making sure the trees thatve been here for years to provide us oxygen dont go to waiste, making something from nothing, putting passion in everything i do...... YOU remind me itll all be worth it!! Thanks for being around dude!
One of the best CZcams videos I've ever seen. P.J. is a talented, humble, gracious steward of precious resources. He prioritizes his family over all else and is still devoted to a craft at which he excels. Well done to Mabie on capturing this remarkable man, who, btw, echos my exact sentiment when it comes to becoming tender when talking about his family. So very nicely done.
Great documentary and biography! keep it coming, it is a nice work. I watched a couple of videos about CZcams woodworking stars and how they began, and the story demonstrates in great harmony.
Love the video Justin. Great job. What a lovely guy to have in the woodworking community. It’s a passion and a way of life we would love to follow. Thank you.
It's awesome to hear that other people think it's cool to have pics of the tree before it was cut down and then be able to tell a story when people ask about your furniture. Awesome story!
PJ is a dynamo worker. So full of ideas and the energy to accomplish what he sets out to do. You can tell that he loves his family by just following his feed. I know he also cares about his students and makes every effort to see them succeed. You’re gonna be famous PJ!
Yeah I actually wasn’t able to include a lot of his interview where he spoke just as passionately about his students just due to timing and pace from an editing standpoint. What he has to say about teaching is phenomenal
