I just wanna say Doug: the weekly YGO series are my pleasure. I dont even play YGO (I just like cardgames overall) and these series are my jam.
Life is stressfull as hell, but this is the little gem I just can relax to.
I had whiplash going from that game 1 into game 2. Was not expecting it to be that swift of an ending
that's Ancient Warriors for you. they're good at going second and OTK'ing. I was surprised no one in twitch chat told Doug during the prep to go 2nd

Ancient Warriors were actually the anti-meta pick I went with when tears first dropped on Master Duel, and I did my diamond climb with them.
Their Tear matchup is solid, owing to the fact they don't give a crap about their GY, and thus have zero fear of the shufflers, have multiple bounces on their end-board, which is the only real way to deal with Tear bosses, and they have a boss monster who is tax dragon, DD crow, and Upstart Goblin rolled into one. The downside being that all their starters have "send from hand/field to GY" text in their effects... so the popular anti-tear floodgates could shut them down entirely.
This was absolutely one of the episodes of all time. Undeniable.
Both players bricking on turn 25 was so hilarious, this was one of the funniest episodes yet
18:07 While not having the combo to OTK, I'm still surprised he didn't even look at his extra deck. He'd have gotten an extra big boy summon if he did.
Next game had an OTK hand, but too bad the effects couldn't activate
Also, for the record, the reason you couldn't activate Lu Jing in game 1 is because he sends a face-up continuous spell to the grave to add an Ancient Warriors [spell/trap] with a different name from the sent card to your hand from the GY, and you didn't have a valid target in the GY.
As an ancient warriors player.. I've been waiting for this episode!
First duel was rough! But the 2nd duel was basically ancient warriors summed up.

OH GOD YES, i have been waiting so long for someone on a Dzeeff series to play Ancient Warriors, this archetype is SO good in sealed, I'm really excited.
EDIT : oh no, he doesn't like my favourite deck. I hope him bricking hasnt completely soured the archetype for him, imo its a really fun deck that has access to a lot of super cool plays and a lot of variety in its ability to interact. He did miss a ton of potential plays, but nah I totally understand that, lots of text.

Tbh, Ancient Warriors have really high ftk potential and can play through handtraps pretty well going 2nd.
This episode was genuinely so much fun. I haven't laughed this hard in a while
Doug really would've benefitted from a bigger Fairy Tail package, Luna searches every turn and the others have something good on them while being 1850

Ancient warriors have it tough in sealed. Their link is a UR, and their staple 3-ofs are all extremely hard to get play sets of in their rarities

Never realized until now how high rarity Ancient Warriors were until this vid, while the irl counterpart you can make with like $20, most of it being in the Sun Mou's
@@lawrencemarquez5007 yeah ancient warriors are heavily neutered without DDL and Lu Feng. In sealed it is possible to survive off just three visits though, as long as you max out on their normal summons and Guan Yun over their high levels

Ancient Warriors is just like early pendulum. You either summon a bunch of guys or brick forever.

We're really getting down to the last pack huh. This was great, the best parts of these videos are the interactions between Dzeef and Farfa, so the bad decks make it that much funnier

This was a monumentally fantastic episode.
I really like the idea where both people get two options. I don't know if you need to keep which deck secret from each other, but more options like this are always good!
if you don't keep them secret from each other then you could theoretically have a never ending loop where player 1 chooses deck A, player 2 chooses deck B to counter, then player 1 chooses deck C to counter the counter, and player 2 chooses deck D to counter the counter counter, then player 1 chooses deck A again... etc, etc.
Ancient warriors is one of my favourite decks there is no better feeling that doing an OTK on a tearlament player 🤣 but definitely needs Lui Feng to run properly. Doug misplayed really hard the first duel.
The crafts should definitely only apply to cards in the pack
Agreed, I mean in the long run farfa can also just craft random stuff like gravity bind
The change was specifically made after the Steelswarm incident to allow for crafting of Solo Pack/Legacy Pack cards.
I like the option of non-Pack cards because of examples like when Farfa crafted Whiptail because he randomly pulled Drident out of the Master Packs
@@Dzeeff yeah bu in this case it made the first duel boring the second was great but the first duel instead of seen farfa doing some gishki combo we instead spend sevral minutes where nothing happening where you draw nothing and every time farfa had a play you had those card i think making outside of pack craft is okay but crafting card that are anti game that should be a no "cos where is the showcase of the decks if you negate everything
This episode felt real also the most balanced this entire series I'm happy you guys tried decks your not familiar with .

I love games like this. More like the 25 turn games where people are bricking and having to draw an out, it’s more old school than games being done by turn 2.
I have never felt more sympathy for another human being than Farfa's first turn of duel 1 when Doug showed him Diamond Dust.

It'd be sick if you add to the second roulette that for that day you draw 10 (or 15) of each set but you need to draw from both otherwise just 20 from a single set

Ancient Warrior is my favorite bad archetype, so I’m really happy to see its pack pulled

Dzeef pulled all the AW searchers and none of the payoffs (i.e. the link 2 or Lu Feng) lmao. It's no wonder the forst game went the way it did haha
I would like to add another rule change to the series.
I would like that even if the first person would win the first 2 duels that you would still do a third duel so the loser still has a chance to show his deck like in history of yugioh.
I am one of the two ancient warriors players and that first game was hard to watch but the otk had me pogging for real.
Yall need to duel with decks baised around your royals from this ep as an bonus episode.

Is Farfa crafting the 2 Bonus main deck cards? I never see him make use of the bonus cards and can't tell if he is forgetting or if it's being edited out.
I did notice odd graphics at the left and right edges of the wheel at the start...
Btw ancient warriors can set up 3 to 4 interruptions with a masquerade effect on field far from weak just gotta learn it bro
No DDL or Lu Feng reduces the interruptions to 1 or 2, depending on whether Sun Mou is able to stick around. The deck does take some reading to understand so I'm not upset with Doug's performance
