Lalbagh Kella is one leading historic location and center of tourist destinations in Dhaka. Lalbag Kella is called Lalbagh Fort in English. Here, Fort=Kella. Lalbagh Kella is a Mughal fort, located very near the river Buriganga in old Dhaka. However, Lalbag Fort, likewise called Aurangabad Fort. The main aspect of Lalbag Kella are 1. Grave of Paribibi 2. Mosque and 3. Dewan E Aum.
The construction of the Mughal fort was begun in 1678 by the Mughal Emperor Azam Shah. Who was the 3rd kid of Emperor Aurangzeb. Later he ended up being Emperor himself. He was shifted to Delhi to solve the Maratha fight, prior to that the mosque and the darbar were constructed.
In 1680, Shaista Khan, who was the Mughal subader resumed its construction, but in the end, he never completed it. In 1684, the beloved girl of Shaista Khan, Iran Dukhat Rahmat Bhanu, who was referred to as Paribibi, died on the place. In 1668 she was wed to Shahzada Azam. In 1684, after the fatality of Shaista Khan's beloved daughter, the fort was considered as cursed, and also the building and construction was quit. Later, he buried the daughter's expired body right here and also built a tomb on it, which is currently the primary structure of the Lalbag Kella.
Though there may have arguments, if the inquiry is, who built the Lalbagh Fort? Then the response would be, Shaista Khan. When it was made? The response is, it was made before 1688.
In 1844, it became known as Lalbagh Kella rather than Aurangabad Fort. Which is currently referred to as Lalbagh Fort. There was a shurongo at the back-gate of the kella that was linked to the other bank of the Buri Ganga with a tunnel.
