The amount of precision you need for this type of landing is insane.
It’s not just precision on the approach… it’s absolute confidence in your skills as a pilot. The Lukla approach is VFR only so no navaids to assist much less use a glidescope, lateral guidance, or any other instrument approach. In fact they don’t even have VASI or PAPI which makes this approach that much harder
In front of the runway is a massive mountain wall that makes a go around all but impossible. Once you pass the point of no return (position & altitude), you are committed to landing one way or another whether you like it or not.
Being so high up in the Himalayas, Lukla is anything but cozily nestled away. Strong mountain winds create unpredictable gusts and cross winds, dense cloud cover can roll in anytime without warning thus reducing visibility well below VFR minimums, and with a lower air density the PIC must stay aware of power settings and airspeed at all times lest he stall or find himself below the prescribed altitude at any given point.
There’s a reason that only pilots certified to make this approach have the privilege of operating out of this airport.
I mean look at his nose wheel on touchdown it was perfectly on center line! Very impressive, true professional at work.
@@dmitrikupryaov7845yes only 12 pilots in the entire world are certified to land at this airport
This is that airport you fly into when your about to climb Everest I think
Wouldn’t it be easier for everyone if the airport was on top of mount Everest ?
The cameraman never dies.
I don't know if this is edited or not but there's a camera installed behind the wheels at the bottom of cockpit to monitor the wheels functioning well
"Hey guys, let's build the world's most dangerous airport!"
Well, there's no other way to get in lukla, There are too many mountains to reach by car, and obviously, not a train, If they put the airport down the mountains between the valley, the approach would be even more difficult, and so would it be harder to get to the village, so the place of the airport is the right one.
Much Sunshine airports are important for reaching destinations. Where’s your common sense
-Yo fred!
-yea?
-lets build an airport right under this hill above a canyone
-wont that be dangerous
-...
-lets get to building
Nose wheel touches down smack on the centerline. Perfect!
None of us are perfect off course but it was definitely a great landing masha Allah
Meanwhile in the cockpit:TERRAIN TERRAIN
PULL UP
No prop planes don’t have terrain alarms the plane says don’t sink
Damn, that is one short runway!
The missed approach/go around procedure is a doozy as well!
(There isn't one....)
@@DuoIingo_Is_Coming You HAVE to land - and stop! Look at the video again and just before the aircraft turns off the runway look at the terrain where the runway stop way and overrun areas usually are. It's also why you always land in the direction as shown in the video and take off in the other direction.......
@@concise707 (btw i’m not tryna get in a arguement) that’s what i’m saying. if there’s no go around procedure and they are at a steep approach or too slow or fast their safety is at a minimal.
This is the Airport that our Son landed at when he went to climb to the Everest Base Camp, but spookily, he never mentioned that it was the most dangerous Airport in the World!!!!!!!
@@please_healtheworld He told us when he got back that he had known of the Airports reputation, but thought it best not to tell us, bless him.
If he was climbing Everest, the flight was probably the least dangerous thing he was doing lol. Its like tellin the police u helped an old woman change her car tire before u led them on a high speed chase😂😂. Glad he made it back safe, happy holidays!
This is the kind of thing I prefer to tell my parents when it's already passed too. Glad he stayed safe though.
props to the camera man literally breaking 50 of his bones while the plane landed.
Finally a video like this, thats not a flight simulator
Amen to that victory man. I hate seeing glowing reviews to the pilots of phony sim landings.
The fact that, the camera man was so still taking a video deserves a award
This is a joke guys, dont go here and comment " bro this is real ".
Pilots from Nepal are awesome
They said that only certain pilots are allowed to make that airport for landing. They are specially trained to land there.
Lukla in Nepal✈️🇳🇵
The same shape of my own Lovely Land
Called PAPUA , IND💝NESIA ,,, all of airport at there are DANGERUSZZZZ.
This airport is where Mt. Everest climbers fly to, to begin their trek up that mountain. The danger of this Lukla Airport is that there is not "go around" opportunity once you touch down. It's a land or crash situation. Only "trained" pilot are authorized to land on this airport with it's up-sloping runway.
The turn at the end really makes it very dangerous.
Wonderful footage. The one airport I have always wanted to go to.
When you change the camera in a game but don't have time to switch back:
That shock absorber going up down look like something else 💀
Very interesting to see how the wheels are functioning during landing!
That right turn will get you every time
Omg so breathtaking... and the video maker .... 😶 just speechless 😶. The wheels touching the ground... needs hands of experience of Pilot .. 👏
PERFECT touchdown for such an airtport. Pilots did it perfectly
props to the cameraman for this epic video
Loved the placement of the camera.
The relief in the people, after they safely land , lol
My driveway is longer than that
Helluva fight crew.
Highly talented camera man respect 🫡
Bro probably just summoned some ptfs fans
Don’t get paid enough 😢
Respect to the camera man hanging out side taking the world this is the video

I got ptfs vibes when seeing the lukla airport
Cameraman never dies 🗿
Perfect and smooth landing in one of the world's dangerous airport.
"Hey wait, wrong airpor-"
Last words of a 787 pilot.
It's an airplane ride that also dubs as a roller coaster at the end. Brilliant!
So peaceful
Ryanair Pilot: Dangerous you say? Hold my beer.
Me :screaming brake! Brake! Brake!
My mom: 😦
beautiful video
Immer wieder interessant
I swear I think it’s remaining airplane debris on the hill right before the runway
Impresionante aterrizaje OMG y la pista nunca vista con curvas 👏👏👏❤️🙋🏻♀️🙏🏻🇨🇱🇩🇪
Fantastic landing but hats off to the camera man/woman for hanging on like that 🤔🥴
Это, трудная, ответственная работа, спасибо капитану, и второму помошнику короля, и всех, кто обслуживает лайнер, здоровья, и долгих лет, низкий поклон, Россия. Спб
props to the camera man for sitting down their to film 😮
You'll have to have master skills, just to land at this airport. Those who fly DHC-6 Twin Otters and Dornier 228s are literally the legendary pilots of Lukla Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Nepal. Never have we seen a plane greater their size and size combined land or take off from this airfield. So, it's lucky that they only use the small passenger aircraft to land there.
Шикарный вид
Wow espectacular vista
I respect the pilots who land in tough situations
Ryanair: You're Fired.
Amazing 👏🏿
☝️ Неправильно летел!
Ой, неправильно!!!
Thank you for flying ryanair over 99.9% of our passengers broke their spine
He is not only landing plane in that small place but also taking turn great job😊😊
🌷 Great Piot,Restpect🤔🌷
Bro took PTFS to a brand new level
👀Can somebody guide me to the nearest train station please?😏
Just love the DO228
Bro landed like nobody's business
That turn was insane.
Espetacular, que Deus proteja a avião ✈
Hence proof cameraman can do anything 🤣🤣.
Nice camera angle 😎
A clap for the cameraman who was hanging outside for taking this excellent footage 😢
Excellent Camera Man
Absolutely fantastic filming!!!! ❤✈.....X Betsy......
มีเลี้ยวด้วยหรือ น่ากลัว นักบินเก่งมากครับ
In Nepal maximum airport like this. The pilots are use to it. They got special training for it and it's their everyday service. It looks dangerous to us and surely it is but don't worry pilots will landed you safely ❤️ 💖 💕 😊
The wheel is just luke: ✨ bOeInG ✨
Plane in ohio be like:
Thats the first little play that it landed so clean
The tires were going up like the plane was going to takeoff again
This is Lukla Airport situated in the country of Nepal and is considered the most dangerous airport in the world.
Nice!
It looks like a ocean in the distance at the other side of the runway but as he lands and gets closer it turns into a mountain.
They took, “the camera man never dies” to the next level 💀
I cannot believe the amount of focus is needed to be so perfect in landing
could we also congratulate the camera man for providing us with this astounding footage, with out being scared for his camera
"Once you miss it you can't reverse"
Very skilled pilot holding the camera so still with his arm out the window
Cameraman in this video is on another level 🤣
Respect to the camera man hanging outside taking the video.
