  • Here's how I fixed a dead key on a Nord Stage 3 Piano. It's not terribly difficult, but it does require a careful consideration of the internal ribbon cables.

    For such a complex instrument it’s nice to see they have constructed them in a way that makes it pretty easy to get in there and do maintenance. Great repair!

      Thanks! Yes, pleasantly surprised that it was all very accessible. The only thing that really surprised me is how dusty it was inside!

    Great video! I'm cleaning mine tomorrow. I was going to use ipa but I'll use distilled water now 🤓

      Technically I used a highly filtered water, very similar to distilled. I'm sure alcohol will work fine, I just didn't want to risk any reaction with the carbon pads.

      Nice catch- that might be a future replacement if that piano ever comes through my door again....
