I remember buying this, when I was still at school. It led onto so many early music dicoveries. Great music, beautifully played.
Love this miniseries !
I still have the record!
One of my most favorite historical series ever, this, Elizabeth R, and I,Claudius - simply masterpieces. Thanks for the upload!
HolyHistory, I didn't see I claudius, but the other two I did, and it was wonderful, not only the scripts but that the costume was properly researched, not like the tripe that has been on recently.
BBC Records' first single release. Spent one week in the charts April 1971 @ No.49.
I had this record.
So did I but lost it but found another in a charity shop of all places. Was I pleased ! 😜
@@PETERDANT1 the music was wonderful wasn't it
Thank your posting this beautiful music! I've been looking for it for years. It's so hauntingly authentic and really brings you back in time. This was my favorite series as I discovered my love for Tudor England.
Same here.
Ronde "Pourquoi" was also used in the two movies of Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age though with a different arrangement.
I wish someone would upload the opening used by CBS when this series first aired in the U.S..
Loved this series. For me Keith Michell is Henry the eighth. I have this LP but unfortunately I don't have an old type record player, only a cd player, was eagerly awaiting Past time with good company, Helas Madame and Fie thee prithee John, all sung by Keith Michell, must be on the reverse side of the LP. Did try to order the record on cd but wasn't successful.
