Where to Level Up Lockpicking (Security Skill) & How to FARM DigiPicks in Starfield

I've mastered the art of lockpicking in this game and let me give you a really good tip that will allow you to pick locks without wasting any of your Digipicks. The golden rule is to SAVE before you even start and the next is DO NOT rush and start picking locks… line them all up first and then start picking ring by ring successfully every single lock you pick.
Follow my guide and I can guarantee it works every single time. And I've picked master locks in just a few minutes and I am only a level 2 or 3 I need to pick 30 locks so it might be 3. When you get to Skill 2 you have the option of Blue rings to pick always go for the Blue rings over White rings as you will have better success in picking the lock.
Step One:
Always SAVE before you start picking a lock then if you screw up you will until you have mastered it like I have.
Step Two:
Line up your rings from the inside out always line up the centre ring and then eliminate the rest of the rings one by one lining up the slots against each ring. Remember that Blue Rings will aid you more of a success in cracking the lock.
Example:
Master Lock has 12-15 variables and eight rings so don't panic just SAVE before you start and like I said start from the inside out, then line up the inner ring to the centre and eliminate which possibilities and write them down for example 9 and 6 is for the centre ring and 4 and 7 is for the next ring above that and that leaves you with 8 variables out of 12. Can you see what I am doing I am lining up all the variables before we even start to pick the lock.
It takes a lot of muscle memory to remember the variables but I have an eidetic memory so I can remember which one lines up where.
So remember always SAVE before you start and always work from the inside out. Bearing in mind lining up white on a blue ring don't worry the White ring can change to blue and vice versa. Just line up the slots then start to eliminate each ring one by one line them up and when they are all lined up start to unlock the BLUE first as the chances of you cracking the lock are faster cracking BLUE rings.

Good start for when you need picks fast, but the better option is buy several like this, then just buy all the digipicks at every vendor you visit throughout the game. If you buy 3 or more at every vendor you probably won’t run out. 👍🏻

Have a question. I didn't level up lockpicking early enough, apparently, because suddenly all the locks I am encountering are too advanced for me. But I can't put a skill point into lockpicking because I haven't picked enough locks yet. Where are all the basic, novice level locks? Do they just disappear from the game once you are a certain level?
I think it's kind of BS that you have to unlock the next level of the skill before it starts counting. So if you're picking locks on novice and don't unlock the second level, all the locks you picked don't count towards unlocking the third level.
You probably figured this out already, but the Crimson Fleet quest line is probably the best for this. The prison he mentions in the video has a lot of locks and they should be easy or medium locks. I don’t think they scale with your character level. And if you don’t want to do criminal activities, remember you can join UC Vanguard and then do Crimson Fleet undercover. 👍🏻
When waiting in this game, it's 48 hours **UT time** that will refresh vendors. In this case, that happened to be 24 hours on this planet. On other planets like Venus or Bessel 3, that might be 1 or two hours local time (which is why these planets can be particularly effective for selling once you find a vendor, preferably behind a bar that has stools you can wait 1 local hour to refresh the vendor's credits).
Actually, it's even more precise. If UT time crosses midnight twice, it resets the vendors. So 11PM tuesday to 1AM thursday UT is enough.

You can’t access it unless you do the Crimson Fleet quest line anyway. 🤷🏻♂️
Kryx system, planet is Suvorov. But it won’t help you much if you haven’t done Crimson Fleet, because they will destroy you as soon as you arrive, and you can’t get into the prison without the quest line. 👍🏻
