Courtoy Mausoleum | Does It Hold A Time Machine?

  • Hannah Courtoy (born Peters) was a mysterious woman. She never married, but she inherited a fortune from an elderly merchant by the name of John Courtoy. She worked for him as a housekeeper and later took his name. There are rumors that she was his mistress, but also the mistress of kings, politicians, and other rich, powerful men.
    Like many Victorians of the era, Hannah was intrigued by Egyptian iconography, particularly hieroglyphics. Therefore, it is not surprising that she, and two of her three daughters, Elizabeth and Mary-Ann, rest in the tomb with many Egyptian characteristics. The mausoleum was designed by two of Hannah`s good friends, Joseph Bonomi and Samuel Alfred Warner.
    The mausoleum was finished in 1853, 5 years after Hannah died. Shortly after the completion of construction, Warner died in suspicious circumstances. Some say he died because of what he discovered while working on the time machine. Others say that Bonomi killed Warner to stop him from telling anyone about their project. Another version of the story is, that Warner didn’t die at all and
    simply travelled in time and disappeared.

      There's a mausoleum at Hope Cemetery in Kutztown PA. A rather large communal one. That has the odd combination of a Greco-Roman columned pediment entranceway with a Egyptian Revival style brass door with papyrus motif. And a red tiled roof! Wierd yet cool.

    My sincerest thanks to GV for such a well-made video of the tomb of my relative, Hannah (Peters) Courtoy! She was a longtime friend of my GG grandfather's sister, Mistress Sarah R. (Wood) Kent Smith. The two were involved heavily in the occult, albeit in very benign ways that were largely academic, theoretical, and very much in keeping with the stylistic interests of their day.

    A very nice Egyptian style Mausoleum! It reminds me of the papyrus plant the Egyptians loved.
    If you look, the round parts are wound with bindings like papyrus reeds bound for harvest. The very top is supposed to be reminiscent of the papyrus flowers in bloom.
    Notice the false doors? They are supposed to be for the spirit to go from this realm to the spirit realm and back. And the taper of the walls are to make it look taller than it really is. It was built during the height of the Egyptian 'revival' the world had for the Egyptians at the time.
    Is there glass in the upper 'vents', or are they open, where you could use a pole camera to look inside?
    However, most Mausoleums have a low ceiling and any openings on top don't look into the inside, unless the ceiling has collapsed!
    I doubt you could get a snake camera under the door, but may be an option?

    • @GraveVisitations
      @GraveVisitations  Před rokem

      Looks completely blocked up unfortunately. The vent does look like glass something I haven't seen before.

    I am not an expert on time machines. Looks like the early Egyptian MK2 Tardis, because the Egyptian MK1 Tardis did not have the compass dial at the top. The bit that looks like a clock. But the clock having 12 points & that only having 8 points leads me to believe it's a compass. But being a time machine, direction would actually be more important than time. For time travel you would have to align directions before time, for a successful journey..... But like my tattoos on my thumbs, the circle & 8 points have 3 meanings. 1. The directions of the compass with its 8 points. 2. The wheel of fortune with its 8 points. 3. The spirit symbol with its 8 points. The best way to know is, go down at night when its very dark , stand facing the door from a distance & see if the circle dot at the top of the circle aligns with the North Star, if it does then you know it's a compass thing. I know there is one on each side, but the one above the door would be the one aligned with the North Star . I think .

      @VeganAJohnH Před rokem

      @@GraveVisitations yes I know you live in Ireland. But just in case you see another or someone else sees your video & then sees the time machine . They could check. What I only just started doing ,but I will do more is start figuring out some symbols & see which way or what the angels are pointing at. Especially on the older head stones. I have noticed a lot of them point to the North Star & some point to other angels or monuments in the grave yard & then you can follow the point & sometimes it's very interesting what they are pointing at. I don't visit as many as you & Sue though.👍👍
