- After using Hipster PDA for the past few weeks, here is what I've come up with the improve this simple, quick and dirty way of taking notes.

Ditch the clip and use a thick elastic hair tie. (Rubber bands are too sticky but hair ties don't bind because they're fabric-covered.)

You can make an sort of index on one card which labels specific categories or types of cards, and on that one, you mark at the edge of the card as it aligns with the subject.
Each card subsequently can be marked on the edge corresponding to the subject, and can be identified on a closed deck without needing any color coding.
Could also purchase a folder brad or a binder ring and punch a hole in one corner of the card. Can clip them closed, and flip through them freely.

This seemingly trivial idea might make me try a hipster PDA again...
I just put cards through my discbound hole punch, the tiniest discs you can find(levenger has 1/4 inch), 3 along the top, and you're all set.
Using a flat-clip pen, you can move the clip to the side (vertically) and hanging the pen to the clip. As for offsetting cards for quick thumbing through, you alternate pinch the left side of stack, bend right side AWAY from you, pinch-hold right side, release left side and bend left side TOWARD you, pinch left side and repeat to satisfaction, then clip in place. The same method works for offsetting cards top to bottom or in a diagonal offset.
Fold a strip of washi tape over one edge of a card. You can find it super easy
