Just an update Liam to my question to you below. It's ok mate; I have figured out what you are doing on the rhythmical parts I specified. It was a case of: rewind and listen; rewind and listen; rewind and listen and then I figured it out. Thanks for your reply anyway mate. I am going to use this as part of my training routine. Keep these training videos coming my friend - you are a joy to watch and learn from.
No worries Darren, thanks for the update. The whole rewind and listen and repeat thing is a great way to learn because you are learning how to listen and analyse as well as picking up the music. Keep me informed with how you're getting on, would love to hear your version of it! Cheers, Liam
Will do Liam. It won't be for a while yet though; I am currently working on one of those ' chug ' tunes and it is proving a tad difficult, but I am certainly making head-way. Slowly but surely, I am working my way through the ' chug ' and hopefully I will have it uploaded as my video diary number 5 in January of '17. Although I have altered the notes somewhat to suit my style: I don't have a style as yet, but it just feels right to alter some notes around. I will definitely let you know though, when I get around to completing the above tune. Thanks for the interest mate, anyway.
I love the warble, but never knew the name of it! Finally, the mystery is solved! I heard a tribute to David Bowie a year ago where Huey Lewis plays the harmonica on “Let’s Dance”, and he does a wicked warble at the beginning of the song! It’s time for me to put this on the daily practice to master it! Thanks Liam!
I'm very new to harmonica, and would like to incorporate it into my guitar playing. I've been playing guitar for a good while now. I came across your chanel and you really explain things clearly. Thank you for your time and effort.
This is what a Trill is/sounds like. I thought a lot of I that Harmonica players are getting this wrong when we talk about a Trill I think of Stevie Wonder Lee Osker and my friend also Curtis Salgado and me. This is my friend on a recording with Dewey Terry on the CD that is currently Out Of Print called Pay Back and the song is You Rock Me All Night Long. At (3:39) is when he does the Trill. Some say a Trill is going back and forth between two holes and the Correct way he does, this is how the Harmonica players I mention do it? I believe it was Jason Ricci who said he could not do a Trill in one of his videos and said I would do it for three hours a day for 5. years and could not do it and moved on to something else and it is so easy to do. His students could do it right away be he can't do it. Sometimes in a video, someone will say when they demonstrate a two-hole shake they will call that a Trill or a Worbal when it is not either of them from my experience. This is what the Trill sounds like. czcams.com/video/5xURsfq1G0k/video.html Thank You for sharing this video. Thank You for sharing this video. Here is Lee Sankeey demonstrating how to do the Tung Flutter or Tremolo Blues Harmonica Lesson - TONGUE TREMOLO (or Flutter) czcams.com/video/IN_wTvPhK-o/video.html I still can't do it yet but found something by trying to get the Tremolo or Tongue Flutter that sounds similar but is hard to demonstrate or for me to explain. In the comments, Lee Sankey explained to me how to learn this technic. I hope that you finally mastered it. Best Regards.
Hi, it's difficult to say without hearing it. It may be due to technique, or it could be a different key of harmonica which would make it sound different. Sorry I can't say without hearing! My one big tip is to relax while doing this, it's very easy to tense up and that will negatively affect the sound. Cheers, Liam
Hello Liam - thanks for the tutorial on the warble. Can I ask what notes you are using when you play the few notes before you move into the warble? It has a nice rhythmical sound and it appears that it is on the lower notes, before you move into the warble on draws, 4 and 5. I would like to learn that bit and then move into the warble as a practice exercise. Thank you in advance.
Hi Darren, thanks for your question and I'm happy to give you the tab - which part of the video do you mean? It's an old video so I'll have to check! Let me know how many seconds or minutes in and I'll work out what I was doing. Cheers, Liam
Hello Liam - thanks for replying. You play the notes several times. You start at 1:31 then move into the warble. Then again at the following times: 1:40; 9:47 and lastly at 10:24. I have already learnt a lot from you Liam and I truly appreciate the time you dedicate to uploading these tutorials. I have been learning since January of this year and I have looked towards your videos as guidance. I have even started uploading my own harmonica videos as video diaries; something you yourself mentioned was a good idea in one of your videos. It helps me keep a track of my own progress, just as you said it would. I watch and learn from the song tutorials you upload, not the actual songs as such, but the theory behind the structure of the songs, that in turn, helps me to manipulate my own short practice tunes. So I am, where I am Liam - within my harmonica development - because of you; so thank you very much my friend. If only I would have been free to attend your masterclass in January in Birmingham, but sadly I am working that weekend; as I work most weekends anyway. I don't wish to drone on mate, but I would really like for you to upload a video on how you got started and ' run that through ' to the present day. I know that you have mentioned bits and pieces about yourself already, but you are an inspiration to me and I would really like to learn and understand your ' harmonica story. ' As in: the full version. Maybe one day, eh Liam, when you aren't too busy? Thanks again in advance for the tab mate. :-)

Thanks Rachel, welcome to the harmonica crew! Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Liam

Thanks Mitchell, keep harping!

Thank you very much for the wonderful lesson Liam!
+Thomas Johnson You're very welcome Thomas. Keep on harpin'! Liam
I was actually trying to get individual notes to warble on my harmonica, I wasn't looking for a trill. I figured out how to do trills.
That’s right. Zero dislikes. 😂
I too have "just" started - literally 2 days ago! And I too have bought the Hohner Silver Star. Will it do Sir?
Regards, Sanjay.
my harmonica has 15 holes on each side by yamaha. can have any help with it?
Hi Adrian, I am sorry but my lessons are for 10 hole diatonic harmonicas. Thanks, Liam
I'm using a Silver Star Hohner C 10 hole harmonica and am getting a different sound from you. Is this due to my inability or due to my harmonica

Hi there, which harmonica are you using? Mine sounds very different.
it's a 10 hole diatonic harmonica in the key of C (Hohner Marine Band). What harmonica do you have? Cheers, Liam

Somehow, it still sounds very different :)
Yes, that's the same type of harmonica. What a mystery! What sounds different?
This sounded a bit like what they do in Jack Frost
Yep, from memory I think there are some warbles in there on Frosty the Swowman 😎
lol i have a harmonica with 24 holes on each side.. lmao
Are you still moving you head liam ‽‽
