Colbert show staffs really know how to do the work done.
They didn’t mess up
1. the camera work
2. the interview by asking stupid questions
3. describing ARMYs by putting a guy fan in the middle of performance as opposed to calling ARMYs bunch of teenage girls.
And last but not least, they seemed to have done the research and found out Singing In The Rain homage in the Boy in luv MV cause Beatles Analogy and this colorless BTS performance perfectly matched..💜💜💜
I am just saying..
so tru...
i personally liked 3. that there was a guy fan in the middle
coz as a fanboy myself, my friends insult me that i am gay and they dont wanna be in a crowd of bunch of girls and get insulted by other ppl like wth
i dont care what ppl say, anyways i am not gay either

The way they pay homage to the Beatles says it all for itself. I mean for other boy bands no one has gone as far to recreate the exact stage, scenery, etc. just like the Beatles and if this doesn’t show how much BTS has made a cultural movement, transcended barriers, and made a big impact then I don’t know what to say

Lol ppl need to chill. This wasnt a video telling the world that bts is the beatles. Its a video showing that in this generation we have another boyband that is shaking the world with their popularity and influence and in this element, they can be compared. They have very different music, but no one can deny bts’ popularity rn.
agreed. and man people need to be more open minded then just assuming bts are copying others. it's really annoying how people are so closed minded.
And it's annoying when people say that BTS can't compare to the Beatles. It's your opinion but it's getting repetitive
Exactly, we are talking about the impact not the type of music .

And one other thing is Kpop doesn’t just revolve around BTS. So people, stop saying every kpop group is BTS.

Saw a comment dismissing BTS because they don't hold instruments and i was wondering if i should dismiss The Beatles because they couldn't dance...sigh. People, just appreciate TALENT!
They were simply stating a FACT. The fact that The Beatles were performing their songs 100% live, without any autotune or backup instruments is the point that those comments were probably trying to make. Objectively speaking The Beatles are much more talented in that they wrote and produced all their songs and performed them all 100% live without ANY external help. They are the biggest pioneers in pop music’s history, completely setting the bar for future generations of music. As much as I’m a fan of BTS, you CANNOT compare them with the Beatles. It like comparing BTS with Mozart or Beetoven. They’re simply just not on the same tier.
Ryan Lajara I’m not saying The Beatles are better because BTS don’t play instruments when playing live. They simply just cannot be COMPARED to the Beatles. The Beatles influenced and changed music history, popular history, social history, political history, cultural history, fashion history in not only America, but practically the entire WORLD. And im sorry, did you just say that if The Beatles hadnt I spoken English, they wouldn’t have been famous? You do know that they werent just popular in english speaking countries, right? Literally every single country in this world knew who the Beatles were at the time, most notably Russia, the Philippines, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, and hell, even South Korea! Even things as simple as the synthesizer, that you and I hear on a daily basis was pioneered and practically invented into use by the Beatles. Im not saying that BTS isnt capable of doing something like that in the future, but they certainly dont even touch what the Beatles had done currently, let alone in the next couple years. Here’s something to keep in mind: The Beatles have influenced you, culturally, musically, socially, politically, on a personal/profound level one way or another, whether you like it or not, and thats a fact that I can tell you. You should listen to the Beatles a bit more, and actually explore a bit of their history, you may even become a fan. After all, maintaining an open mind and constantly learning new things is always good for anyone’s growth, not just in this context, but in life :)
Ryan Lajara I respect your opinion man. I just think that thats a pretty big leap of faith and assumption that The Beatles wouldnt have made it if they spoke a different language. My educated guess would be that it still wouldve been very likely that they still became extremely successful, considering how much influence they have had on other countries despite speaking a totally different language. In my opinion The Beatles are set apart from any other group, whether it be Elvis or MJ because of how much impact they have had on every aspect of our lives and of the entire world. Although groups like MJ and Elvis were big icons, and no doubt influenced pop culture and music, its not nearly to the extent of the Beatles. My opinion is that the reason you may be associating The Beatle sound to typical “western” music is because of how much they INFLUENCED western music and their standards. Its even more interesting considering that the Beatles arent even American, they’re British, a totally different country but still had a profound impact on America. Also the most fascinating thing about The Beatles in regards with their music, is the way they matured musically/spiritually throughout their short 7 year span. Example would be listening to Love Me Do, and Tomorrow Never Knows, the level of maturity is astounding. The Beatles were also very open minded in terms of delving into all different kinds of music. They were influenced by and replicated Indian music, country, rock, psychedelic rock, etc etc. Heck, they even invented heavy metal! This result in every single genre of their songs being of different origin and sound absolutely different. I have yet to experience that with BTS. I have high hopes for them though, and im looking forward to their future endeavours, but for now, it is impossible to compare them even for a second, to the almighty Beatles. Oh and one more thing, The Beatles have literally sung in different languages before, such as German, Latin, Spanish, and French. So there ya go!
Ryan Lajara Okay I agree with the fact that BTS have encouraged the globalization of foreign music, and that that will most likely be their legacy. But that in no way negates the fact that The Beatles are and will always be timeless and insurmountably influential to the entire world in every way possible for all of time to come. Its the freaking Beatles. No other group can be compared to them. Like I said, use Beetoven and Mozart as an example, it just doesnt make sense saying those two names in the same sentence.
@@fifthbeatle beatles literally stole black music.. What music scene. Lol

how they can sing live and dance at the same time ??? like fr these mans got some serious talent

too many little mistakes made, they usually have faster choreo .. just fit.. @@liamj197
@@liamj197 after 3 years into the kpop industry (not just bts), I started to understand when during a performance there is or isn't lip syncing. And this is not, it's 100% live 'cause you can hear their breath expecially when they jump.
I don't know if anyone will see this but for those of you who aren't familiar with BTS or this song let me explain what Boy With Luv is actually about because it has a lovely meaning that I think captures their sincerity very well.
So first and foremost it's a love song, that much was obvious, but it's what it means to BTS that I feel is so important because in simplest terms, this is a song about ARMYs (their fans).
To provide some context, i'm sure you can imagine a korean group singing in their native language would have experienced many barriers and hardships in the western market. They have not only been discriminated against but constantly pressured to conform to appeal to a wider audience at the expense of their artistic integrity. Not just that but even from their own country they are constantly pressured to meet unbelievable expectations and their every move is scrutinised. This is accumulated to have a pretty severe affect on their mental health to the point they almost considered disbanding, thankfully they managed to persevere and have reached a point where they can comfortably reject all pressures, criticisms and prejudices.
This album 'Map of The Soul: Persona' is inspired by Carly Jung's theories on individual psyche and this album and song in particular emphasises 'persona' (individuality). So this song is also a rejection of all these criticisms to act a certain way and make music a certain way to cater to people because they want to embrace their own individuality, they don't want to sacrifice it just to please a wider audience. It's cause of the fans constant support of this that they have been able to reject that.
They have said themselves that this song (along with the album) is dedicated to their fans and if you look at some of the lyrics you can understand why:
"I’m flying high up in that sky
with the two wings that you gave me then"
"They say, I, who used to so small, became a hero (Oh nah)
I say, things like destiny were never mine from the beginning (Oh nah)
The world’s peace (No way)
Some grand rules (No way)
Just going to protect you, I am"
"with Icarus’ wings that you gave me,
I’d fly to you, not the sun"
These pretty accurately convey how their priority has always been about their fans and not feeling the need to live up to certain expectations or cater to a certain audience etc. BTS took this sentiment and how they have been able to endure everything because of the support and love from their fans and turned it into a love song. The korean title is actually called 'a poem for small things' and in various parts they talk about wanting to know trivial petty parts of the person's life because this is what they consider 'true love'. So.... to them the support and love their fans gave them was so powerful it helped them through everything and that sentiment is what they consider 'true love'.

It is really amazing to see how BTS syndrome is accepted as simular as that of Beatles. They look fantastic and the performance was superb~!!💜
It gets better, and I don't see anyone mentioning it: This was meant to replicate the Beatles' performance on the Ed Sullivan Show (with Stephen Colbert as Ed Sullivan) - and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is actually taped in the very same Ed Sullivan Theater.
Oh, come on. You're comparing BTS with _The Beatles_ . Seriously.
Max Planck they’re comparing the impact. bts has broken multiple records previously held by the beatles.
@@maxplanck1077 seriously? can you not read through lines? LoL you must have gotten F for a literature class or something. I said " syndrome". The crazy syndrome BTS has created to their fans is similar to that of Beatles. I am not talking about anything else. That is what they are talking about. Who else in this age make their fans camp out around their concert stadiums a week prior to their concert? Whoe else does that these days? No one but BTS makes fans do that. Camping out 1 week before the concert starts just to get the best viewing standing seats. That is a phenomenal, very rare to see these days. BTS has that impact on people.
Btw, FYI BTS has gotten no.1 on billboard 200 chart 3 times in a row within 11 months. BTS is the only artist who has that record after Beatles. It is a FACT. DEAL WITH IT!😊
@@koyukiny First of all, I always had straight A's in literature class.
Secondly, I still stand by my judgement, if I had lived in the 60's, I would have waited a whole month to attend a Beatles' concert.
Thirdly, BTS fans are hella defensive. If someone had said something similar about a band I like, I would have said "sure, suit yourself". I wouldn't need to justify my music taste.
I just cannot get enough of them

Their dance woooow, i am obsessed with their BOY WITH LUV song they r singing live wooow they r indeed cool and multitalented💜😘😘
V always have the best voice during any live performance 💜
As a teenage self, I was a hardcore Beatles fan. As a 30+ year old, I am a hardcore BTS fan. Watching this is like worlds colliding in the best possible way!
It must be so emotional for you ;)
@@sriharshasangojh881 It is! And I'm so glad that BTS are having fun with these Beatles comparisons.
💜
I feel you. He´s also a 30+ and I love this stage. Great performance. ♥
I don't like the Beatles comparison. They are each so different, EXCEPT that they both swept the world with their talent.
Congratulations again to BTS.
I think Stephen Colbert's is the first American late show interview that BTS had where all seven of them spoke in complete English! This is just another testament to their work ethic and their desire to connect with their fans globally as well as understanding other cultures while sharing theirs.
SugaHoneyIcedTae
Ikrrr.... i watch d interview n they seems soo relaxed n natural ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
Their english improve a lot😭😭😭
Im proud👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Right?! In the beginning RM said he was going to have to talk a lot as the spokesman but he ended up not having to say anything, lol.
Watching this BTS performance on Stephen Colbert was a demonstration of their amazing talent . I was mesmerized. It lured me down the BTS rabbit hole, & I haven't climbed out since. I just love them. 💜💜
They are all elegant in black suit BTS thank you for sharing
Just 6 years ago, bts was begging people on the streets to come to their concerts. After years of hard work and dedication, they're now known internationally and are even being compared to the Beatles. They did it. They really did it 💜
fanXgirlXbangtan DON’T MAKE ME CRYYYY
I'm crying 😭😭😭
Just dont please i'm crying
Please don't 😭😭 They really have a very inspiring story
I'm getting emotional now :(
Okay... Dunno why no one is mentioning how namjoon is looking so damn fine
MY MAN IS SO HOT
Omg!! He's my fav!!! So fricken HOT!
He’s a whole meal 🤤
A seven course meal 😍
>COUGH< you mean President Namjoon >COUGH
Wow. Is this a nod to The Beatles?? It took me a second for it to dawn on me! 🤣
Wow..BTS in the Beatles Show😍.. BTS, so cool.
I love how Stephen decided to change the stage to make it look like the times when The Beatles were popular back than and performed at that theatre.
It really feels like an honor to be an ARMY knowing BTS have been praised by many famous people and are compared to The Beatles which are fucking legends 😭😭
Nahomi S. Yaaas! 🙌🏼
Wow I am in awe of these seven fine men from South Korea.
As you should be
You should look up to their lyrics they talk about important topics ☺️
They really are the most special human beings you’ll ever discover. They are a blessing to everyone who crosses paths with them.
They are magic... I love them and will miss them so much as a group for the next few years. Thankfully, there are so many performances like this one to hold us over.
BTS are my pride, i'm so so proud to be an Army. BTS are breaking Beatles records. They aren't the next Beatles , they are BTS, they made their own name, they are the next greatest band of this century.
Y luego despertaste 😂😂
@@Swiftie4589de hecho ellos ya vencieron varios récords de varios grupos gringos, estoy están dominando listas, es una realidad, nada cuesta aceptarlo.
Finally, the fanboys have been represented. Amazing performance and really classy segment. Thank you Stephen and the entire The Late Show crew.
Eli Von Right? We should have a BTS fanboy club or smth 😂
We fanboys may be few, but we’re proud.
Fanboys ASSEMBLE! 🙏🏻
@@randombluetoad1308 might be slightly few comparing to fangirls, but the number isn't at all
Theres alot of us fanboys but they refuse to accept that we're not 12 year old girls
Boy bands from two different generations, singing in two different languages, from two different countries have fangirls with the same amount of energy on the same stage with a host on par with the late Ed Sullivan.

Beautiful boys the only band that captives my ❤️ heart....x
That guy holding the "BTS Mania" card deserves my applause, really 👏
I'm 39 years old and I saw them in Chicago on Sunday with my daughters. The show was great, we had a blast. These guys put their heart and soul into the performance.
My mom said I couldn't go to that concert so I'm looking for a new parent that will treat me right lol

Yasss but I get brother vibes from them tbh.I feel like I need to learn so many things from them
They're actually inspiring band..if you know where they come from , their background, and how they start from nothing to right now. They're more than hearthrobs
@@sriharshasangojh881 for this performance i was saying they are hearthrobs because of that 90s hearthrobs BW effect . but to me they are also like my brothers, best friends and mentors for life😊💕

The Beatles: good joke
BTS in suits! :) Jimin and Rm in a suit! :) Jimin in a suit! :) I liked this performance! :)
In my 25 years of my existence I've never been a fangirl, I always listens to R&B and folk, but BTS is something different for my ears..
Try checking out one of the members solo song called singularity . It is R&B track .
I'm 30+ but I'm a huge fan of BTS so age never matters 😊💜
lol Im 41, more hyped about k-pop then I was about any band in my teens
Bts's song home is an r&b track they dedicated to the fandom. Their first few albums have some nice r&b and hip hop influence but "Home" is the current undisputed fave 😁 czcams.com/video/v2AT7oSGZbQ/video.html
I'm almost 22 and I was never a fan of some group/artist but here I am being an army for nearly 4 years.. they are really something special :)
the camera work we all deserve, the best of all US tv premier show we've ever had
They know what to shoot, thanks for all the effort 😊👏👏

Their performances on Stephen Colbert's show are my favorite. I love them!
I actually love this. I’ve always been a Beatles fan, and to be honest I tried to not like BTS, but I have found that I now love them.
United Nations, Billboard music awards, american music awards, Ellen, graham norton, corden, kimmel, fallon, saturday night livex gma summer concert headliners, grammy museum interview, Americas got talent, the voice, New years rockin eve, and late show with Colbert. Tell me...WHO ELSE IS DOING IT LIKE BTS ?!?!?
Super Bowl? 👀 next goal?
Sarah Taiaroa
They could be the 1st?!
ONLY BTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Umm bangtan soneyeodan, bulletproof boyscout, and beyond the scenes
NO ONE IS DOING IT LIKE BTS.
I’ve finally made my choice, I chose the guy in black and white.
Same my bias is the cute one
Mine is the hottest one.
Mine is the Korean one
mine is the most talented one
Mine is that have colourful mic
Everytime they do this song and performance IT'S PERFECTION.

Lets be honest, Colbert show's camerawork is better than all of the american shows that bts has been to

The prev bbma's camwork was good
true, gma camera work sucks (no offense)
I cant agree less💜
Totally agree!!
As a 49 year old Korean-American, I am crying my heart out watching this. So proud - not just because of their heritage but because of all the happiness & positivity they are bringing to people everywhere in the world, no matter their skin color, race, gender, and age.
I'm a 46 Korean-Candian. Same here!
I’m a 43-year-old American mom who has 3 kids who are 1/4 Korean and I actually got them into KPOP! We are proud ARMY and love Korean music, food, and culture. It’s awesome to see Korean culture getting more recognition! Beautiful country!
are you sure that you're 49 years old?

Bro, The Beatles are my fav band but I'm also an Army, and this performance is a dream for me.
This makes me so emotional I can't even explain it.. they started from NOTHING, they didn't have support from anyone but themselves and yet, driven by their passion for music they never stopped, and now they're here. Immensely proud is an understatement
😭😭😭
@@user-ii8kj2bf8x uhm she means that bighit was going bankrupt. They has nothing like media influence or anything like big3 companies have. They didnt had a boost from the start. They only had a debut as a fill-in.
