I think the missing step was to check to see if the wire from the coil to the kill switch pigtail was grounded/shorted to ground. If so, would kill spark just like using the kill switch.
Its true that what you say should have been done. The step I'm referring to is different and I have a whole video dedicated to it coming wednesday or saturday.
The theme of these videos is to develope a system of diagnosing these types of problems. Test then repair if needed. I have no idea what you tested if anything and trying to get you running through the comment section is difficult. Don't be discouraged. Look into the cylinder for scoring, usually around exhaust port. If its cleasn then check compression. Pressure test the fuel line. Does it purge ok? Other possible problems are a blocked exhaust, crankcase air leak or sheared flywheel key. Good luck.
I'm not sure what universal filter you mean but generally speaking as long as the filter is big enough to handle the volume of fuel the engine needs then it should work. Some filters are weighted so that should be considered.
@@TheGreasyShopRag This model shows a thing looking like a butterfly wing on the end of the filter. So, the cylinder-style one with weight should be fine.
To bad you didn't bother to get a close up of the magnets and how the coil sits with the gap between it and the magnets. That's the part people who aren't mechanical will be left wondering if they are doing it right after they watch your video. The only thing you didn't do is check for spark after disconnecting the kill wire. But you tested the switch and verified it was working properly so testing that wire separately really wasn't necessary unless it was rubbing through to ground somewhere. Later!
Yes I can see how getting that close up would help some people, even though I did say "have the magnet lined up with the module". This is a video of a repair I did on the clock at work. The boss allows me to do this if I'm not wasting company time so mostly the camera just hangs there. Later at home I add the voice over to try to make it educational. Thanks for watching.
@@TheGreasyShopRag a buddy gave me an echo pb-251 blower. It would run but act like starving for gas. Worked on carb and vent. For giggles poured stp. stop leak into crankcase. Now brings gas better but weak spark. Deciding to part it out or sell for parts.
In a video you mentioned a fuel line with a magnet. Does it help? How about just a small rare earth magnet dropped in? Hope you and your family has a terrific Thanksgiving.
Well I've had mine since 2018 and no issues until the other day was running shut down and I do believe coil has took a poop. So are they reliable yes they are everything breaks down eventually
Their commercial grade products are great. I’ve had a 326ls for well over 10 years. I replaced the carb, lines, and tank grommets this year. Other than that it’s been basic maintenance. Just air filter, gas filters and spark plugs. I switch them out every season and always store it on an empty tank.
Where you located? I have same weedeater won't start. Wanna make another video with mine . I have cash as well to pay you to do the video/repair. Have a great day
I'm in central wisconsin but I don't "make videos". I'm an employee that is allowed to let a camera roll while working. That means sometimes I don't get footage because of whats happening in the shop or disturbances. I've recorded a lot of repairs I thought could be made into good videos but then something comes up and I don't get the rest of the footage. Thanks for the offer but it can't be planned.
Yes watch doing this work on small engine to gain information from you on how to repair my Owen small engine ok cheers Garry
Thanks for watching!
check for spark after removing kill wire?
Good call! I should have done that.

Measure the gap between coil and flywheel. I have a 129L I replaced the coil and carb(just bc it was sitting) and it still won't start.

It had a bad coil. No spark condition. It's sparking with the new coil just won't run.
@@foulwsoul6820 does the plug get wet? Maybe too wet? maybe its flooded.
I'd like to suggest about getting the fuel filter out of this 129l. And will one of those universal filter work?

@@TheGreasyShopRag Thanks for the fast response
@@heatseeker7667 That butterfly filter is designed for shallow tanks. The wings wick up fuel, where a cylinder filter sits in fuel.

I check for continuity between coil and body. What spark tester do you like?
I like the PET-4000 because it allows me to open the gap and check for weak coils.

@@steveriggenbach90 There are not a lot of pb251 parts listed on ebay right now. You might do ok parting it out.
@@TheGreasyShopRag thanks, I’ll dismantle and check coil gap, etc. learn a lot this way. Seals allow new removal techniques and then tossed.

I'm guessing the Husqvarna Trimmer Motors aren't very reliable then??
Are you basing that guess on one failed ignition module?
