It's like BuzzFeed, but down under. We're a bit cooked, not afraid to get deep and sometimes we'll make you crack up. New videos every week!
I'm keen to know what other styles of fried chicken we didn't make that you may have liked to see? Should we do a part 2?
yangnyeom chicken is god tier!!
@@paulthomas4908 I totally agree, it was a tough decision not to make this.
@@ryanpaturzo947 I think we know what you gotta do for part 2 mate. Also, if you do, you gotta fry it twice. 👍
It would be nice to see the chefs challenge themselves, to recreate a chicken recipe based off a chicken fast food chain.
@@leonking8342 Love this idea.
I love how the chefs are all so nice and honest. In other food swap videos everyone is always so cutthroat and critical, but imagine that every home chef they bring on can’t cook.
It’s almost as if only certain people can have ego without being a bigot.
big time it's so much more enjoyable to watch
They are not even mad others are better like I’m being served lip smacking good food oooh yeah this the life
Ryan has always been the sweetest in all videos though ☺️
They aren’t usually chefs.
So happy to see so many Asian traditions represented in this quintessential dish. This is probably one of my favorite chefs try each other's food videos.
Glad you loved it!!!
@@jacobleung3434 congratulations on your win.
E
lol
As a malay, Jacob really knocked it out of the park with that recipe! That chicken looked so good! A well deserved win 🎉
Ohhh thanks so much! You're way too kind!
@@jacobleung3434 I would LOVE to try your chicken, i love fried chickens so much
As a Malaysian, nothing brings me more joy than to hear them say and recognise our beloved Mamak culture. Hearing them say Mamak was truly music to my ears. Thank you Jacob for advocating and sharing the wonder of Mamak food to the world.
It’s srsly the best!!! Glad I could share!
Agreed!
im indian but my favourite cuisine is malaysian/singaporean. Anything nasi padang
@@anti-leveled142 nasi padang is from indonesia tho
@@anti-leveled142 who gonna tell him that's not a dish from malaysia or singapore
Will really knows the ingredients and adaptations that the other chefs used in their chicken, mans taste buds and knowledge about asian food is on point.
yeah dude was on point
Will talks about how much he wants crunch but he makes the least crunchy batter
well each fried chicken is different
Ryan, thanks for sharing Taiwanese Fried Chicken with the Australian fans!
@TheEditor107 it really isn't
@TheEditor107 bro what that’s just not true?
@TheEditor107 incorrect
@TheEditor107 it’s so fucking good wdym
@TheEditor107 you play brawl stars 😭😭
Will has a great palate guessed quite a few of the other chef's ingredients
Finallya video where people arent just lowballing eachother to make themselves look better.
Loved it!
They were all so nice on this one, it’s refreshing to see
meh
thank you Jacob for coming up with the mamak fried chicken, it is a level up from regular fried chicken. Come to Malaysia we have tonnes of mamak restaurants
Oh I will be there soon! My wife is Malaysian!
What is regular?
@@b2kzangelalwayz regular fried chicken usually uses limited ingredients like flour, salt pepper etc. Mamak fried chicken use a lot of spice and ingredients as u see in the video.
@@tinihadi5287so basically the way black people make their fried chicken in the south? Lol.
This is probably the best episode. Everyone judged fairly and I would be honored to try any one. Best wishes to everyone that made it happen xx
True, even the comment about needing a sauce for Jacob
Ryan won in my heart for sportsmanship and amazing Taiwanese fried chicken
Love how positive all the guests the were and no one talked trash or tried to underscore the others. So much nicer to watch when you get a great group like this!
the sinigang fried chicken is very new to me, i know filipino chicken curry turned into fried chicken and adobo turned into fried chicken, but never sinigang, it's good to know that some people had an idea to make it, felt like that was an experiment.
Nah.. been using sinigang mix on our fried chicken spcially if you are cooking for a group
These all looked absolutely fantastic! I'd be so happy to try any and all of these chefs' dishes today haha
They all are very talented and respectful chefs with very good Criticism. Loved this vid
I love how you actually show the recipes and how to make them. For someone like me, who is not a very good at cooking, it gives me ideas and things to try. Thank you so much and please keep the amazing videos and recipes coming. 😊❤
Love how positive all the chefs were :)
OOH i wanna try the sinigang fried chicken it's such an interesting take on sinigang. the vinegar dipping sauce and atchara (?) is also so quintessentially filipino. love that!!
Malaysia represent! The belacan (shrimp paste) was such an amazing touch!
Oh yesssss
Fr i was like welp thats random, mamak outta no where
I mean it would be really interesting to try them though
Woooo!!! C'mon!!!
You can tell they’re all good cooks with how descriptive they are, they all have good feedback and creative good dishes
I'm kinda amazed at the knowledge that theses chefs have about food from different cultures.
Ryan is the most honest scorer
I watch every competition expecting Ryan to win... CLEARLY i have a favorite.
I just love how nice they are to each other. ❤
i like how diverse the dishes are!!
Love the honesty. I see so much pettiness in these types of videos.
No one did a southern US fried chicken! I was surprised!
Because it’s the worst of fried chickens lmao
Buttermilk southern fried chicken is the bomb
Because they won't get people that's really from southern states. So Cal and shit like that is not the south and sounds like Karla can't cook chicken herself
@@ballzdeep8169 You wish I didn’t know how to cook. Try fried chicken from other countries before you speak.
My mom makes the best FC IMO. You brine in buttermilk and hot sauce for a kick!
“I prefer dark pieces” proceeds to make wings
I know 😂I guess it’s fine because it’s more fatty then the breast part 😁
The drumettes are definitely white meat but the flats and tips are considered dark when it comes to cooking time like drumsticks or thighs.
Ryan is a whole vibe! ❤️
That mamak fried chicken looks unbelievable! Definitely need to try it!
Wow! I want to try all of them. They all looked absolutely delicious! Well done Chefs!
I absolutely love this. These guys are goooood good. Seem like they know their stuff and some really interesting recipes with great inspiration. I did not expect so much variety when I clicked on a fried chicken video. Ngl, buzzfeeds reputation is not good for this channel. This is actual good content.
Are the recipes available? I want to try them all - such amazing combinations of flavors!
Love the vibe from this group
This is awesome 😍 I love the Buzzfeed Oz videos with you guys, I am the UK and its really cool to see the differences ie US buzzfeed fried chicken would lend itself more to Southern Fried, buttermilk, crisco.
I love the influence and appreciation here in all your videos due to proximity to SE Asia.
I saw this one last night, and showed my partner today. We have all the ingredients in the house for the Taiwanese Fried chicken (well not for the sauce, no plum jam, and none of that branded BBQ).
So thatll be our lunch today :) gonna try them all eventually.
Also this Buzzfeed is considerably less annoying :D
Enjoyed every one of these chef videos. Got so many to try
This is making me hungry, just give it all to me. Great video guys 😁❤️
I love how kind and uplifting they are with eachothers recipes, unlike other reviews i've seen. I seen people shade eachother lowkey. But loved ittt! Please do more bahahaha these reviews give me peace watching and eating being a fat flop 😂😂😂😂
I love when it is good food and you can tell through the screen. Shared the recipes too which is amazing!🌟👏💯
Rice flour is the key to the ultimate crunchyness
Soooo true!!!
True. Ive tried potato and tapioca starch and rice flour and haven't actively tried to see which is crunchier. What do u think?
Ryan is heckin good value 🙂
This video was very refreshing. Finally one of this genre where someone isn’t a straight hater.
A curry flavored fried chicken sounds amazing
will’s amazing with his educated guesses!!
That last chicken looked insane
I would happily try all of these chicken dishes. I really like the judges because they had a positive true critique approach. Interesting to see what folks are doing with fried chicken.
Will is spot on with the description of the dish just by tasting it.
“I am here. I am fried chicken”
- Fried chicken
Ryan needs to have his own restuarant
Thanks to Jacob for giving the recipe in comments!! It looke delish!!!
The crunch on that final chicken 😍😍😍😍😍
This was such a refreshing episode
it's rare to see everyone so positive about everyone else's. you see these other videos and everyone gives each other 1s.
I really love the diversity of the chicken dishes! I love how all of them have a particular asian dish that inspired the chicken, very fun episode,!
When she said "it is wider than my face." 😂😂😂
The boil part massive ick for fried chicken
Adding curry powder to the crumb flavour is ingenious
Curry crusts is everything 😍😍
Adds colour and so much flavour!
Malaysia got a lot of subdivisions in culinary. The mamak (indian-malay), peranakan (chinese-malay), malay-thai, indigenous (iban, kadazan etc) n of course authentic malay, indian and chinese. Hope everyone can try it.
Heyyyyyy Tammi! Love your glasses. And for some reason I was instantly convinced you would make me some yummy food!
🥰🥰
fried chicken is fast and easy? lol
I shouldn't be watching this at 3 am absolutely starving but yet here I am 😭
Malaysian here, mamak fried chicken is the best ! A combination of Indian and Malay ingredients to create the best dish.
“Frying chicken is a science”
Me being from Mississippi, one of the homes of soul food: “Huh”
As long as you listen to your ancestors, you never can go wrong on your fried chicken
It's funny how actual chefs are all humble and nice yet honest while non-chefs in other vids are so mean and a little arrogant lol
MSG!!!! Uncle Roger would be nodding rn hahaha
happy to see a European chef be educated in MSG and not falling into the Asian racism
They all looked good only thing missing was some candied jalapenos.
Sounds good 😊
OMG as a filipino I wouldnt even think of SINIGANG (a sour soup) and FRIED CHICKEN together but seeing how Will create it made me salivate just by thinking about it! Definitely my favorite.
That one guy that just knew everything
Boiling and then frying chicken should be a crime!!!
Tammi: I only like dark meat
Also Tammi: serves wings.
To be fair, wings tend to be a juicier white meat, and hers looked fantastic.
“A bed of green lettuce”
~ Very clearly not green lettuce ~
😂😂
I only eat chicken once a week and you bet I'm giving Manak Fried Chicken a shot.
Hey there! Here is my Mamak Fried Chicken recipe:
Blend:
1 lemongrass stalk
1 knob ginger
3 small eshallots
2 cloves garlic
1 kaffir lime leaf
2 tsp fish sauce
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp curry powder
Sat and pepper
1 Tbls brown sugar
1/4 cup shrimp paste
400ml coconut milk
Blend until smooth
Marinade in chicken thigh and drumsticks (skin on) for 1hr minimum. Then coat in
1 cup of plain, rice and corn flour.
1 Tbls curry powder
Salt and pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
Fry in vegetable oil for 10 -12 minutes.
@@jacobleung3434 thanks jacob 🙏🏻
She’s complaining about the cut they use, and then cooks them WINGS?!!
Wish there was a southern US fried chicken dish because that is, THE BEST
Right
These all looked AMAZING ❤️ I would try them all...
'Do you wanna try the lettuce?'
"No it's too expensive!"
Too right. It is ridiculously priced in QLD at the moment, I feel your pain.
I learned how to make amazing fried chicken in Kentucky by an older woman who was as sweet as a sugared peach! But all these recipes looked incredible as well!
I hope I can track down the ingredients for that Mamak in my area, this looks so radically different from what I'm used to as an american. It looked absolutely delicious.
I adore hot star so I'll definitely be trying that recipe thanks!
I think your ALL winners!!! Yum
I’d be happy to eat any of these but that take on Mamak was awesome. Stealing that recipe
Ok I'm off to fry some chicken now. My God it all looked so good.. but that last one has me drooling over here!!
i prefer crisp over crunch i dont want my gums all scraped up
Never tried Red Bean Paste flavour... but excited
10:43 NOW THIS HOW YOU MAKE FRIED CHICKEN ❗️❗️❗️HE WON 😁
'What in the prehistoric world!?' lol never thoughg i would hear that
All of those chickens looked lovely. I'd eat them all. You're all winners to me! 🤩
How the sinigang fried chicken was cooked was weird for me. I actually cooked a different version of that before. I soaked the chicken in a mixture of fish sauce and sinigang mix, after which proceeded with the usual breading and coating. It still tastes sour, but it is quite flavorful due the fish sauce.
Yes, the need for golden brown!!!
Am I the only one who thinks these people judging each other's food are nicer than usual
Love Tammi!
Eyyyyyy Remy!!!! 😘😘😘 it’s been too long
I love how that Filipino chef always puts in a little bit of culture in his dishes
Jacob chicken looked so good
What measurements did Jacob use for his dry mix?
I want to try all these different fried chicken now
That first one thirty minutes marinade 😂
I was eating sinigang when the sinigang inspired one popped up!!!
