The athletes shouldn't have to be punished for something they were not responsible for. They have practiced faithfully for 4 years or even more, and it probably cost them a pretty penny. The Olympic committee in France has disgraced itself and should hang it's head in shame. The Games are a prestigious event, known and applauded across the world. It represents hope, unity, friendship, and integrity, but this provocative parady of a show was nothing but an expression of lustful, errotic, and distasteful pretense of an opening. Pretense yes, because it was not an opening of the Olympic Games, but a hi-jacking of the platform intended for the games. In an effort to offend, not only Christians, but ppl of respect and dignity, with morals and good taste, it was intended to do exactly what it did. These qwerty ppl are so busy trying to make a point, that ymthey have lost all sense of dignity, and to do so, they made absolute idiots of themselves. Pray God, non qwerty ppl, Christians and normal, balanced ppl, will never have to go that far to establish our identity. We know who we are, for our identity is found in Christ Jesus.
I believe it was a sign from God to let Christians know that he is with us.

Really, if you think about it, it doesn't matter how the basilica remained brightly lit up that night. God's light shone bright in the darkness, and it will continue to shine and give us hope.

I have been to Paris & the Basillica is usually faintly lit at night. So this brightness is very unusual. It is said the Empress Josephine often prayed at Sacred Heart Basillica for an heir.
Catholics in US just had a eucharistic procession throughout the country at the same time as the opening ceremonies. God sees all.
This is how I feel, hearing of this😢, I fear for them who mocked God, but I pray for them to follow Jesus. I know how almighty Our God is, He can do anything, I knew this when I felt His love and power that was like a magnet to me.
