2015 was one of the strongest years we've ever had to my mind. Loic, Aminata and Polina were all winners to me over Mans. Even as Mans has been a great personality, his song is just a bit too... Safe. Aminata gave us the only good song Latvia had ever sent and one of the best of the decade and the public nearly crashed her altogether.

The year of the Super 9 when the top 9 countries (Sweden, Russia, Italy, Belgium, Latvia, Estonia, Norway, Australia, Israel) got more than 80% of the available points and left the other eighteen countries fighting for the crumbs. Serbia was 10th with the same points that Hungary was 22nd in 2011.

And even after 5 long years i just cannot get through fact, that Sweden won. sorry not sorry, unpopular opinion, but Italy was clear winner. This was exactly the ceiling for me when it comes to juries. Like, they are fucking up all the time mostly, but this was a GOD DAMN CRIME to put Italy 6th and rob them like that. They were great on jury show, so i clearly dont understand what was the problem to put them higher.

I think 2015 was full of balads because last year a balad had won. Likewise, 2016 was full of pop songs because of Heroes and 2019 was full of "fuego" type songs. And usualy the oposite wins because it stands out. Like in 2015 a pop song won, in 2016 a balad won, and in 2019 a balad won again. Its interesting

Filled with ballads? Most ESCs have plenty more ballads than this one actually. I understand that you are all about party and dance songs but ballads or not-so-mainstream acts are just part of it, whether you like them or not. And the variety of songs it what makes the ESC so special in the end. If you just want to listen to pop songs through and through turn on MTV or one of those other music television channels. "Heroes" is just overrated IMO and other songs such as the Italian, the Belgian the Australian or even the Russian one were more enjoyable, at least to me, even though Mans and Pietra were by far the best hosts of the last decade. My guilty-pleasure of the 2015 ESC still remains Norway's "Monster like me" whether you like the song or not.

I was delegation host for Israel that year - #TeamGoldenBoy4ever. It was an amazing year, mainly because my hometown Vienna did a great job and I was lucky to be a part of it. I'm still friends with many other volunteers, but also with quite a few members of the Israeli delegation.
My favourites were of course Israel, Italy, Norway, Slovenia, Russia and Australia.
Please don't hate me, but I really dislike Sweden. It was 90% video projection and the rest stolen from David Guetta. The song itself was very mediocre (it's all my personal opinion).
