Uncle Robo, You should sue Marvel Select, they obviously copied your Handsome Visage for their Crimson Dynamo maskless sculpt, those scoundrels!
It's nice that they include a Robo portrait with this figure.
I was just gonna say that haha
Little known facts about Crimson Dynamo:
He lives at Crimson Peak
His favorite restaurant is Red Robin
And his favorite book is The Scarlet Letter
I would love ANY company to make an 80s Titanium Man ... The one that was piloted by the Gremlin. Always loved that armor design.
Diamond Select made a Titanium Man
That's maybe the one similar to the Toybiz version of 90s animated Iron Man'sTitanium Man?
It's funny seeing Robo review a cool Robo figure
I am so hyped for the Annihilus they have coming
Man, this just looks so classic. Even the way the hands are posed while shooting the energy blasts feels classic. Love the way they did the shoulders.
This, Titanium Man and Apocalypse are really tempting me to get into Selects. The bigger, fudgeable villains just look so good next to 1/12 figures. Though the sheer number of times I've heard about stuck or extremely tight joints makes me want to hold fire. Just not keen on being anxious and having the hot tub ready when posing figures. That and some of the articulation isn't great.
They seem pretty good side by side with those Legends, imo they are at the right size for these big characters.
@@bluejasmi8487 Yeah, as long as you can't see a human-sized character's bare head, it's fine. The helmets really help. And Apocalypse shifts size all the time, so whatever.
I have several with no problems and they look better than Legends
unboxing selects def gives the nostalgic vibes, twist ties and all. the packaging has been the same since i was a lil lad with big dreams lol. last i got was beta ray bill , but this is def next!
They look great all together!
I clicked this without seeing the title and thought this was a Play Day where someone made a figure of you again.
Beautiful and their titanium man is the same. Can’t wait.
I love the twist ties. Total nostalgia
This was a long time coming, this figure looks great.
I like this version of Crimson Dynamo, but I love the bullet-headed version with the octagonal cogs on the shoulders and boots a bit better. That was the Crimson Dynamo from the '60s-the mid'80s, so I think Marvel Legends needs to give us that classic version! I do like what Marvel Select had done with this version though! It's a nice vintage look that's light years better than that awful BAF that they gave us. That one I tossed in the trash bin. Diamond Select figures usually lack a lot in terms of articulation, their figure's joints always stick, and I'm always afraid they'll break. The paint on the joints always comes off, etc, but they always have the best sculpts. This looks great! Titanium Man was also great. I just got a notice from BigBad that my Crimson Dynamo is about to arrive, so I'm thrilled to see this review, Robo! Thanks a bunch!
Big guy, big figure. Sometimes that's all you need.
Diamond's willingness to get into weird big guys makes me wish they'd do some scaled-down Celestials or something, or the Living Tribunal. Uatu needs some shelf-buddies!
He's perfect and I can't wait for mine to show up. 😁👍
Does anyone else kinda don't care if everyone in a team is 100% accurate like my winter guard has og members mixed with new guys even if they don't have the right costume
Its the same with my x men with a mix of jim lee, 80s and astonishing looks
For X-Men I am picky, only because that was my favorite growing up. And grown up. But for teams like Winter Guard or Alpha Flight or even Avengers I mix and match.
@RoboDontKnow
Same here...! Even with my X-Men figures, depending on the team, if I have a version of it that's "close enough for now", then I will work with it... or as they say, fake it till they make it, sort of. 🤷
For example... X-Factor v1.5, as I refer to the "secondish" incarnation of the original 5 members, AFTER Archangel breaks free of Apocalypse, Iceman gets his "power regulator" belt, Beast is blue and furry again and dumps the stupid brown & yellow costume, Cyclops is in the nice blue costume with the big white 'X', and Jean is sporting that sleek looking red costume with the nice golden yellow 'X'... And that's my team line-up. I have the Cyclops, Archangel, Beast, retro-carded Iceman with a custom belt I got online, and have been waiting for Jean Grey for a couple of years now, and that's a super easy figure to drop into a retro-carded wave, but hey, it's Hasbro, so they're taking their sweet@$$ time to finish the last members of some of these teams... looking at you, Wolfsbane and Feral... and Jean... and Rachel Summers (Excalibur) Phoenix... It's very annoying, and they have to be borderline stupid to think that any significant number of collectors will suddenly "quit collecting" because they completed a damn team... 🙄 People are more likely to quit because it took them, SO DAMN LONG TO COMPLETE THESE TEAMS... but I digress.
I did also paint that dumb@$$ Darwin figure, to make a Caliban though... it's not the sweet pre-Apocalypse costume with the helmet that I'd prefer, but it works once I painted the head and hands white, and gave him those big yellow eyes... Darwin some of that dumb@$$ retconned $#!t Marvel does... Freaking Vulcan too... 🙄🙄🙄
I made up a backstory for the Brood-verine version of Wolverine and had him become a member of the Imperial Guard acting as a liason and new crew member of the Starjammers... (He's a failed Brood Warrior experiment using a clone of Wolverine implanted with a Brood egg, that went badly for the Brood... As he was about to be destroyed, the Shi'ar and Starjammers attacked the Brood facility to liberate Deathbird and recover stolen cargo. THE BROODZERKER, as he is now known, escaped in the chaos and confusion on-board the Starjammer...)
Just didn't have a place for a mid-change Wolverine, except as a comic cover display piece, so I I made a place for him in the tradition of the old school X-Men comics storytelling... and viola, BROODZERKER!!!
Damn I thought you died or something. Glad you're still rocking on the new channel.
As a super fan of Crimson Dynamo, I love this figure! It’s awesome. You can play with the angles and perspective. But I would love a Marvel Legends version which would be in better scale and would have better range of motion in the elbows and knees. A Marvel Legends Crimson Dynamo has been my dream since the line started. But for now, this figure is great!
Bad guys can be big , makes it more difficult for the hero to defeat them
Considering the MS Destroyer and ML Destroyer are practically the same size, some MS could legitimately be 1/12 scale unintentionally. Having said that, while I would prefer CD to be the same size as an ML Iron Man it makes sense that he would be larger. Stark is supposed to be WAY ahead of the game in terms of armor tech, so bigger armors to match him don't bug me at all.
I've always wanted Robo head. I might have to buy this figure
Exactly what I wanted him to look like.
Just got this yesterday! Perfect timing. Thanks for covering this.
Now Legends or Select need to finish things off and make the second version of Titanium Man and honestly a new bigger Iron Monger can and should be made, the time is now.
He is a good looking figure and I think he looks compatible next to Iron Man.He should be bigger than Tony anyway, so...
Nice review!
(Side note: Thankfully, my ladies don't judge me based on my size and scale...... -2Ts)
I remember my Titanium Man's leg getting unstuck after about half a year or so - despite multiple attempts to heat it up etc.
Love this figure! Got it a few dsta days ago....one more character ( Vanguard)....maybe a Gremlin?
Just preordered the she hulk I’m very excited she looks good
Your shelf; your rules.
Great review! Another great addition to my Winter Guard!
Just watched the video, AMAZING figure. Painting, sculpt, acessories, all 10/10. But those elbows are beyond shameful, they are criminal. Way to ruin an otherwise perfect figure.
The best suits/robots are ones with metal abs
As Robo was talking about superfans needing that perfect representation of a character to fit with their collection, I just had this nagging image of a big, British man dressed in the Union Flag... 🤷♂️
Haha, okay, there's a few exceptions, but I'm still rocking the Legends Braddock on the shelf and fairly happy. But we could always be happier in some aspects...
God what a beautiful sculpt never heard of him ither, want him
I need an Uncle Robo action figure
Been wondering ways of increasing the elbow movement
Literally just saw this at my local comic shop about an hour ago but skipped it for now, however I fully intend to circle back to it eventually. I've been spending the day dusting shelves and rearranging figures, and of the three Marvel Legends shelves I had the comic villains shelf was the most crammed, and I specifically wanted to make more space on it for this figure and the upcoming Annihilus (now that I've made that space I wonder why I passed on it today, all signs said it was meant to be!).
It's fate!
@@RoboDontKnow Plus I've always had a soft spot for him. I live in the UK but during a trip to California in 2010 I picked up the Diamond Select Minimate version of Crimson Dynamo, it was my first exposure to the character and it's what made him my favourite Iron Man villain, I lost it years ago so having another version of him from Diamond Select only seems fitting.
(Man now I REALLY should've seen the signs that I should've picked him up today)
So, they made Robo as Crimson Dynamo?!
Red Widow wants to join the Super Soviet Soldiers.
Ice-cream Dynomo
I got their Titanium Man because the size works with Legends and can cope with the poor articulation on that one because it does just enough to work, but the elbows and knees on this i know will just pi$$ me off to the point i wont want it - despite how good it looks. Make us a Dynamo Hasbro.....
After collecting a few Mcfarlane Multiverse figures, I basically can't factor in scale or I'd hate most of them haha
Haha, very true, Multiverse will break anyone when it comes to scale.
I have a few Select figures but it is a company that is like "frozen in time", like they are still in 1980, i dont know how they remain in business. Almost zero articulation and stuck joints all over.
Didn't you comment this yesterday?
@@RoboDontKnow yes it was yesterday, dont know why this popped up again. sorry
@@RoboDontKnow maybe my phone is playing tricks
So marvel select is an old line?
Nothing wrong with 6 inches!
You should sue for them stealing the likeness 😅
They make good stuff found a Diamond Select Deadpool at G/W for $3 in perfect shape score
Crimson robo...
Channel should be renamed to The 6 inch guy😂 also transformers still have their cardboard twist ties
I might pass on this one but I’m way more excited for the new arch angel
In mother Russia thigh swivels you 3:47
Wow that elbow articulation is unacceptable.
Robo the marvel select immortal hulk and the red hulk variant are amazing figures they are massive but amazing in my opinion far superior to the Hasbro one and they just about fit in a six inch display
“I’ve always been a six inch guy”. 🤨 Kinda sus there, Robo.
Legends are trash. Long live select
You're allowed to like things without hating other things. That's not me defending, just pointing it out as a general rule.
This is a great figure, and fits in great with my Marvel Legends Winter Guard team... especially with having the awesome TITANIUM MAN and CRIMSON DYNAMO team finally together!
Robo, don't give up on those joints! They will work out, but you have to keep at it until they free up... it can be a little tricky and somewhat scary, but they will move...
As for the ab crunch at the joint, xcorpeo did a little video short where he dremeled out a little bit of the material on the inside around the joint to give him more crunch... I am planning on doing this, but haven't had time yet.
The BAF version of CRIMSON DYNAMO, though... nah. Never clicked for me as that character, and in fact, the first time I saw it announced, I immediately thought about ditching those damned dumb@$$ oversized shoulder pouldrons, hiding the star and using him as BOX II for my Alpha Flight team... then I did a quick little kit bash Madison Jeffries to go with the armor for my display... went from hating it as CD, to loving it as BOX II...! (IF you needed a new home for him!)
Highly enjoy your reviews!
