    Very ingenious idea on the log turner.

    Thanks for your posts on the EZ Boardwalk JR. I just brought mine home last week and made the first cuts with it a couple days ago. Your videos are extremely helpful and probably the biggest reason I bought one.

      Glad you got one.i imagine saw mills are really selling well with the insane prices of lumber

      One other tip. I would use 7/8 spaced tooth blades as opposed to the 3/4. They will cut faster and do not need as much set.

    good concept, since you have electric start on your mill you could take it one step further. They sell cheap hydraulic pumps on ebay for $150. search for DC 12 Volt Hydraulic Pump for Dump Trailer Dump - 8 Quart Metal - Single Acting.

    If you have enough motor run a hydraulic pump off it because you don’t need to saw and jack at the same time!

    U need a virtcle pipe ban clamped to jack bottle to park your valve turner.

    • @honeybeehomesteading
      @honeybeehomesteading  Před 2 lety

      I made the valve turner out of stainless so i could find it but a hole and a zip tie would work to hang it on the jack

    I would like to see how it’s placed under the log, hard to see from that angle

    • @honeybeehomesteading
      @honeybeehomesteading  Před rokem

      It goes on the outside edge. The cleats bite in and roll the log. If you get it too far in towards the middle it will just lift the log. I won't be doing and milling for a couple of month as this is my firewood season.

    Slow, no one buys a portable manual band sawmill because it's fast. Anything to assist or do your handeling of heavy logs isn't looked at for speed, if you ever used a manual mill then you wouldn't make such a stupid comment. Your ability to do this is the only thing important. GOOD JOB FELLOW SAWYER.

    This is a good idea. Did you ever run power?

    • @honeybeehomesteading
      @honeybeehomesteading  Před 2 lety

      Yes I have power close. I now run it off of a 3 gallon pancake but a 8 gallon would be the perfect size. I will have a video soon of it rotating a 32 inch walnut log

  • @susanvaughn741
    @susanvaughn741 Před 2 lety

    But, you can’t break a 20 ton jack

    • @honeybeehomesteading
      @honeybeehomesteading  Před 2 lety

      they were actually sold out of the 20 ton....glad i went with the smaller one for faster lifting and easier to move around underneath the log
