    Here through the vocabulary of classical odissi, the dancers express the truth of life by worshipping the goddess “Devi Mahakali” she is the dark and furious incarnation of Goddess Durga. She is adorned with garlands of human skulls and smeared with ashes from the cremation ground. she holds the sword. The chakra, the gada, trishul, bow and arrow, etc. Her body is of the colour of blue lotus and She is Mahakali, the furious goddess. she is Shiva, the divine consort of Shiva and Narayani, the power of Vishnu. she is Kalaratri, the darkest night. She is the repository of three “gunas” (qualities) pervade with her energy: Satwa, Raja and Tamas. She creates, nurtures and finally destroys. She is the origin and the ultimatum of life.
