Their relationship was organic - developed slowly, without unnecessary forced dialog. And besides, they're a couple that went through a life-time of pain and made it in the end. You don't get to see characters live out a story for that long and have a happy ending. It usually ends with a closing chapter of the current events. At the end of season 4, you got a sneak peak into 4 year ahead. Then in season 5, there's a 7 year gap which gets filled in and in the end, you basically watch the couple sit in the sunset. In my opinion, they nailed it with ending the series in season 5. If it had been continued for another couple of season, they probably would have ruined it.
@@elenasalvatore832 I think the sunset ending of season 5 is the best ending they could have. For me the best tv couple. It is not that if there were more seasons, they would have been ruined, but that there is no more to take out, the series no longer has a girl.
More seasons could be released but focusing on other characters like Gretchen, Mahone, T bag. Because Michael's character is already more than finished.
If they had released seasons, they would have explored a facet that has been explored in the fifth, paternity. A sixth season where Michael has to free his son would have been interesting but of course the character already knows that if they put him in a prison he will escape.
