wow. after one year landed in Canada. buying house is amazing. Lucky people.
I recently moved to Barrie myself. I was in same situation. I moved from Mississauga. Properties are too expensive in GTA. I go to union station once a week. I usually drive to king city to save time and cost on go train. I would recommend go not go after new build homes only. Look for detach home with double garage. You will need double garage in Barrie and bigger home to grow family. I bought my home around $740k. 4+2 bedroom. 2200sqft+. It’s in very good condition and I’m slowly making some changes.

Barrie is a newer satellite town, which offer larger housing spaces ... however the distance from downtown Toronto remains a concern due to infrequent transit and growing road traffic. Good luck.

Its all a bubble. It crashed in median price about 25% already in many cities. More price reductions to come.

Bro, 5 years ago the houses which are listed at 700k were below 250k, specially in a small town like barrie. Seeing this sky rocketing inflation, makes me wanna stay in India..
