Hi, thanks... For this video I used just a laptop running stock sounds from Battery. I also have used a Roland Fantom module with expansion cards, as well as a few of the v-drum modules which all worked well.

I sometimes glance down to check position but for the most part I play by touch... thanks for checking it out!

from $1400-1800 depending on the finish... Keep in mind that it is only a controller and you'll still need a sound source.

Well done! I have the zendrum zx and I'm pretty decent but nowhere near that good. I'm glad it found its way on youtube because no one's ever heard of it and it's hard to find inspiration.

@boodiggity191 Yes, that's me. I'm not sure if I'll make it over there this week, but it's right down the street from me so there's a chance. Thanks for looking!

@funkystivo actually not going to make it either, but always good to see you jamming when you're there.

you need a sound source first. the zendrum is only a controller. Then that can be connected to an amplifier. If you're using for live performance, it is very helpful to have an on stage monitor in addition to being in the house system.

can i u suggest something you might do or want to consider doing? possibly doing a colaboration with someone from youtube called Andi Steil i think the zendrum and his hang drum would go well together

DUDE! GET YOURSELF A MOOG TAURUS (the foot pedals synth) so you can do monster duets as one guy!

Steve, do you look at your hands as you play to get oriented, or do you "touchtype"? Nice vid, thanks.

The muse receptor should work although I've never used one so I can't give any advice with regards to performance or latency. The zendrum is a midi controller... no USB connections however with a USB interface, you can run midi in that way. The zendrum will give you great accuracy (depending on how you play of course) and control over velocity. You'll have a lot of fun with it!

What do you mean? By "not realistic" do you mean, "doesn't sound like a drum set?" It's not a drum set, it doesn't try to be one. It's another instrument all together.

should I buy one? i'm a keyboard player, but i want to get in on the perc-action
Is it USB or midi only? I'm also going to be acquiring a Muse Receptor over the next year or so, so would it work?

What's the response like on these? Are they better than the action on a touch pad like the Akai XR20?

this is cool but $1400-1800? you could get good solenoids, a midi controller kit, and make one for around $300-400, plus a lot of time (which to some is worth $1200 i guess) but very cool ergonomic design!! your playing is impeccable and sounds are beautiful!!!!!

I could argue if korg padkontrol isn't as nice as the zendrum... :)
