JUST A HOP, A SKIP, AND A SINK!!! CAUGHT US A KIA FISH!!!

- Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!! I hope my viewers are enjoying the new 4K videos!!! Today, we take a hop, a skip, and a sink, as Ethan will say, into the Whitewater River!! Someone was driving an unfamiliar road at night and missing the curve at a pretty good speed it would appear. The little Kia that could (alternate title) not fly, no matter how hard it tried. After missing the curve, we can see the vehicles tracks, see where it was airborne, bottomed out, went airborne again right into the river, then rolled onto its roof. Thankfully, only part of the little Kia was submerged and the driver was able to escape with minimal injuries. The Missouri State Highway Patrol requests we bring our rotator out to fish the little Kia out of the River before heavy rain sets in later that day. We take our flagship Peterbilt 389X equipped with a Miller Industries Century 1150R rotator towing & recovery unit to recover the SUV from the river and bring our Peterbilt 337 equipped with a Miller Century LCG12 rollback, flat-deck, tilt-tray, depending upon what part of the globe you come from. Be sure to watch until the very end....you might just see one of my infamous Pratt falls...LOL. We all have a good time and laugh, which is nice. Hey, I'm glad we are having fun while working!!! I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

My common analogy, "there are many ways to reach 10". I could have approached this (any) job several different ways. The approach method is important, but more important is achieving the desired result, safely.
Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

Least you weren't " Fishin in the Dark" with Mike this time. The person driving this KIA had the big guy upstairs watching over them, this could have ended horribly. Great job guys !
Thanks team . That rotator truck is a magic machine. 😊😊😊
In my opinion there is only one job that is worth getting hurt doing - and that is when trying to rescue/protect another person.
Yes but even with that some limits exist. Electrocution and deadly gases don't rush into things without some thought.
If you get hurt trying to rescue anyone you are now in need of rescue. That stops you helping and makes more people needed to rescue you as well. First rule of rescue. DO NOT become another casualty.
@@larrybe2900 yes exactly my thought if helping someone else will almost immediately get you killed isnt worth it

I am glad we got a preview from Ethan’s phone during the live the other day lol. Pratt fall was funny of course with no injuries other then pride

@@aengmax absolutely, AND a side-by-side replay of it! ;)
Not sure what type of lure you use, but your sure catch some big ones! Always great to see you go fishing. Thanks for the outstanding video!
I think the lure was some good oil or a better oil filter
Glad no one was badly injured ! Thank You for sharing the adventures of a tow truck driver with us all Sir ! ✌️❤️🙏
I am very glad that I saw this video, because it says that no one pasted, great seeing you all working so well. How is the grandson doing good I hope.
Oh nice, here's the one with the patented *Pratt-fall* lol.
Morning Mr Ron prayers and well wishes for all involved and prayers for your family and all the employees and their families. Have a blessed weekend and stay safe
Got to love catching them big ones. Always a good haul. Too bad the car didn't do to well.
That turret getting pulled back straight says a lot about the Yankum Rope!
This type of fishing expedition is always the best type.
Little to no injuries to the victims and you always catch a big one.
Stay safe and God bless.
Don't forget on a nice calm road, where no traffic is zipping by 50-80mph few feet away...A nice safe work area :)
Ron u need a gone fishing sign just for these type of videos
That bridge seemed a little sketchy for a big truck like that but glad everyone is ok, i know youll never post one where someone is dead/etc so each post just means someone made it through :)
Goodmorning Ron

Good job y’all Thanks for sharing
Great job Ron and crew
Ron. You can sing pretty good. Maybe on. Sunday at your church.
Another thing is that. I have been watching your videos for a few years now and all your work is awesome.
Great video,no overhead power lines, minimal creek damage, great recovery, Thanks for the ride along
Looking very good an coming along very well thanks 👍 Lee
Flippin heck! 😲
thank you for sharing with us God Bless
Good job guys!
Another Fine Job.👍
OK.. HIGH pucker factor as you drove Tator over that bridge. Love to know what it is weight rated at. Since that is indeed a moving waterway, I'm amazed the police allowed it to sit in there for 3 days. I think the fact that the yank-em rope had enough pressure on it to make the carriage slip is impressive as to what they can take!Have a great day Ron, excellent video, and I got to be number 14 to hit that like button!
Those type bridges are rated to carry heavy farm trucks, 80K pounds.
Agreed! 80 thousand pound Rotator vs. that bridge. Would of not done that, Yikes!
Wet mud is very sticky and weighs allot, then add a bunch of water... I bet that added like 1-2,000 pounds right there on top of the suction of the mud holding it in place...
Usually those bridges are rated pretty good for combines and semis hauling grain.
But, yes, they should have a sign with the bridge ratings.
I would take a look under the bridge; but not really concerned about driving over it. (Too narrow to think about setting up on it even if it weren't too far away.) This road serves farms; so it surely sees tractors and probably loaded grain trucks regularly.
Good job Ron and crew
Thankful for no serious injuries and a successful recovery! I was going to say the same thing about having fun and laughing but ya beat me to it!
Awesome video thanks for sharing glad the Drive survived
Thanks for your service my friends.
Another great video Ron mate
Great recovery, The guys are doing awesome with your helping advice , sure love watching theses videos to see how your master mind gets the job done . Happy Valentine's to you all .
I really enjoy these videos. Almost always learn something new. About salvage value. My wife was T-boned in a 9YO Hyundai SUV (passenger side, my wife was OK).
The ins co ended up giving us about $3K - more - than we'd have gotten as a trade in. So yes the customer will appreciate the care you take in recovery. 👍
I have just seen where the old ambulance siren is mounted. A very safe place. I love seeing you use it and the way tractor/trailers units pull over. A sight I haven't seen since having been retired from the local volunteer fire brigade, through having a stroke, ten years ago. Some of our older fire engines were fitted with air horns, from old train engines that were retired.
Love the video Ron
Nice catch Ron , great work bringing it up …
Thank you so much for the video please post more videos a week God bless
Great work
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there.
Great video Ron always enjoy watching your videos. Doing a little fishing to retrieve this Kia. Glad to see Ethan and Gavin setting up and breaking down for this recovery and you got it done before the rain came. Stay safe Ron and Ethan and Gavin.
Good morning!
Some very fine maneuvering there, bud. Be safe & God bless!
Always look forward to the latest post from y’all. I for one would like it if the com sets were included so we get the conversations with the crew. But I know that might be a little more than you have hands for! 😂😂. Keep up the great work and stay safe out there. God Bless!
Enjoying watching your videos
A crunched up and inedible fish. Well done Ron and crew. Stay safe out there.
Another amazing job " God Bless"
Another great job done by you guys.
Nice fall Mr. Ron Pratt thanks for another great video.
you guys make a great recovery crew.
Another outstanding job. The com head sets are a lot of help. As with all the other videos I have seen from Ron Pratt, you have a good team to work with. Please keep the videos coming.
Another great job.
Amen! Mr. Ron! Praying for all involved!
Amen! She went for a wild ride to go in that small River!
Praise God nobody was hurt! Much respect to you and your crew Ron!
Great job again.
Glad kmow one was hurt...Having fun give a release of the stress you are under... Keeps you more human. God Bless you ,your, family and crew. Always enjoy your videos. Kathy
I am glad I found your channel I have been watching it non stop for about 16 hours
Like several others, I'm curious as to the weight rating of that bridge. Too many close calls as a truck driver for 39 years, so I always question bridge capacities. Hope to stop in and visit one day, maybe some of that knowledge will miraculously transfer in to my cranial vortex! Great work as always. Thanks for what you do and how you do it! Robert H.
I'm guessing that bridge has a pretty high weight capacity since it's on a rural farm road where farm equipment (combine harvesters, tractors, trucks etc.) travel over it, so it has to be strong enough to support that kind of weight. Also, keep in mind that the GVWR of Ron's Rotator is 73,000 LBS, and on another video Ron said that he weighed Tator on a CAT truck scale and it registered 72,300-72,500 LBS (sorry, I can't remember the exact weight), so we know that bridge can support at least 72,500 LBS. Stay safe and GOD BLESS.
We live in a rural, hilly to mountainous state. Lots of small low capacity bridges. Now we have frack gas production. And some onteresting bridge incidents. Heavy equipment, 6--8 axel dump trucks, filled to capacity. Crushed all the culverts, so now we have water overflow and icing across roads in winter. But bridges are a real consideration
Fishing on the job lol. Good video Ron
Hello tank you for the video
Morning Ron. I see this is the video with the Pratt fall we saw in the live Q/A earlier in the week. God Bless and watch over you and your family!
having watched your videos has encouraged me to consider being a tow truck operator. great recovery as always!
Ron, great video! I cannot imagine the wild ride the person took who was driving that Khia. Surviving the ride is a great accomplishment, and surviving without injury is even greater. Having had experience with auto accidents (none of which were my fault) and the resulting injuries -- well I'd much rather I hadn't had the accidents! Great sense of humor, you and your team!
Congrats Ron, closing in on 500K subscribers!! You have certainly earned and deserved that accomplishment. Long time subscriber and so satisfied by your Channel and professional work!! Your business dealings and work ethic is very representative of "the ways things were" before and wish they still were that way! It was so much more enjoyable!! Onward, stay safe and well!!
Of choose you are the most professional in the business.I
Good one Ron. Y’all stay safe and havagudun
Good work Ron the way you Finesse it to get it lined up for Ethan I loved that part keep up the great work guys and stay safe
I have been watching your channel for several years now and I thoroughly enjoy it. One question. Are you able to post the date on your videos when each event is recorded? I think it would be interesting to see a timeline on your videos. Keep up the good work. God's richest blessings to you and your family and employees.
Ron mentioned that this was valentines day. I agree that it would be nice to maybe post a date on the start of the video or in the title.
Awesome Job guys…!!! Always good to see a job where there is no traffic going by…! Those head sets are worth their weight in gold too…! Another reason I love watching your videos Ron is I’m always amazed at all the buttons you have at your fingertips to push…! Combine that with all the lights and other mechanical hooks, cables and equipment you have, to me it’s just an awesome profession to be proud to work with helping people… I know from watching your videos there are extreme potential dangers all the time but as you have shown us… You have to be extremely cautious and have eyes in the back of your head to see EVERYTHING…!!! Another enjoyable aspect of your videos is… Almost guaranteed that no job is the same… Always something different…! LOL “rewatching me busting my Butt”… Ron sorry for the Pratt fall but It’s awesome to see your humor about yourself… Love that about you!!! Love that you have fun when you can guys in a safe way… Love your references from the TV & movies… Forest Gump and Dukes of Hazzard… Glad nobody was hurt…! Nice Video guys…! Thanks…! ps… gonna have to find you a toy turtle for your dash now…!
I think Ron and the crew should put the audio from those headsets as the soundtrack under the video, I see other towing videos doing that and it works well
..LOOKIN' GOOD, NICE JOB, KEEP SAFE...
Great Job Midwest Truck!!!
Good work
Love your falls
So glad you guys have those head devices.
I'm surprised that sketchy bridge was not posted ??
Here in Wis ALL county Road bridge's are posted unless built to the newer Highway system weights.
Thanks Ron. Mike M.
That Kia one heck of a ride, glad no one was hurt, God bless
A Pratt fall and singing in one video! That is a plus. 😁
I have blown my comments away twice already!!!!
I am in awe of the training you are delivering to Ethan and Gavin. I was a trainer 20 yrs of my 33 years at CAT in Decatur, IL.
I see and hear things other fold don't. Your attitude towards your calls is impeccable. It is clear you view every call just as important as every other call. I got a kick out of your "tether" rope. It looks like the old "Dubble-Bubble" bubble gum wrappers, I suppose that must date me. Oh Yeah, my nickname for years has been "Yankum". I sure wish I could tag in on the royalties that would bring1!!!!
So glad no one was hurt seriously. God Bless
Throw it back. Throw it back 🐟🐠
Glad it was just water, an elderly couple managed to drive through 2 gates, and ended up in a sewage containment pond a few days ago. They had to have divers rig both the SUV and the camper and lift it straight out. Luckily no one was seriously injured.
Funny how you notice a guys pen. I’m the same kinda person Ron. I admire how you are teaching the boys. My dad was exactly like you in that he gave me responsibilities beyond my years. Now my father was either screaming or absolutely quiet, I’m still unsure which was worse. I hated being yelled at but it pressed me to learn quickly.
Good stuff boss. Prayers that you get home safely each day.
good job good bless
Having worked in a dismantling business (albeit 40+ years ago) I appreciate the way in which you recognise that even scrap vehicles belong to somebody and have a potential salvage value.
Would love to see the video of that ride!!! Glad all were safe. That was a ride where u had to change more than your drawers.:)
Your videos is just about the only thing I do with 1.4k others Congratulations 🐸❣️
Is the frog 🐸 emoji in reference to 28:46? 😆
Love your zoo on the dashboard 😊
Awesome job. If you can't play and work at the same time there is a problem for me. Couldn't handle it. Love watching you all work.
I never seen a KIA fish before. Now I know what it looks like. Good job fishing it out.
Stay safe.
@Ron Pratt - I think the first _"Pratt"_ fall (or nearly to it), that I saw, was quite a while back; I think with your previous roll-back, ice on the tilted deck - woops!
🎵 _"Who'ya gon'na call?! tow-busters!!"_ 🎶 👍 Cheers-
That was one lucky young lady the way the front was caved in! Good job guys!
