Timer begins on first action and ends upon collecting the Amulet.
Pixel Dungeon is an open-source rogue-like dungeon crawler developed by watabou (@watawatabou) with completely randomized levels and items with each run. Your goal is to pass all 25 depths and obtain the Amulet of Yendor, the most powerful relic of all.

Maan, I cringe when I see that. Running through a dungeon without killing every piranha and wraith, trampling every bit of grass, and ocassionally going back up to sell the last piece of scrap in the shop - that hurts almost physically ;)

Every time I have a good run, I always get killed by accidently tapping on a distant part of the map so my character starts walking there while rapidly getting shot by dwarves or evil eyes.

In shattered pixel dungeon you stop because ur character sees an enemy and when hit he also stops

I've been playing since 2014 and i still haven't won, i always get killed by the final boss whenever i reach him hehe

Dude, i can win with the warrior almost every time (and usually just use the huntress to keep it challenging)....are you doing a proper job of managing your upgrade scrolls and health potions?
What do you do in the demon halls?
Brews and elixers make it wayyyyy easier. Don't forget to use ALL of your potions and scrolls on the fight since its the final one
Save at least one invisibility potion (+ a mind vision, it helps), one scroll of challenge, an Earthroot seed, your armor at 45 and a 5-tier weapon at maximum. Use the mind vision first to see were yog dzewa is, go to the opposite side of the room and use the challenge scroll. Wait a bit for the fists and go invisible, then move next to Yog. Choose a nice place, step on the earthroot plant and punch! Surround yourself with larvae, if the fists arrive again their attacks won’t harm you.

"So many scrolls of upgrade" that shows that you never went past the second area. There's always 15 SoUs.
This is the easiest dungeon run ive ever seen. You are lucky.

I feel like there should be a speed run category of least amount of turns.
The thing about that is the entire run becomes based around getting an early ring of haste as freerunner in sewers. It isn't as fun since you can take your time in reality to think about making the best in-game turn. Chances are, it'd also be difficult to prove since anyone could edit a number to be 1000 or 2000 less than what it actually is.
Though, these and Shattered speedruns can still get under 5000 in turns, which is still impressive on their own.

Remixed and Shattered and all the other clones kinda suck (they're either too easy, or rely too much on fancy items and fancy new enemies over good gameplay).....the original game is always RANDOM, so the replay value is endless (even the best player will lose around half the time, because the items/equipment you randomly get could be crap).

It's been 3 years after i started playing this game... I can't beat it. But i learned so many things. I used to play this game during taking breaks when i was studying for my final exam in high school... It gave me hope that as long as you don't give up everything is fine... U will only fail if u quit. I have learned many loopholes of the game(Example:To kill a wraith u must kill it when it is standing with door and that works only when the wraith stands with the door for first time not the second)I even wrote an email to the developer of the game... Idk if he/she saw it but i have done what i could. I have never lost faith. I will try again and again... (If possible i will post a video of this game with me in the last depth possibly defeating the fifth BOSS... Hope you will pray for me. The last year(2020)was journey to a horrifying abyss as that time was i had my mental strength tested to the peaks... Even still i am trying to remain stable from mental that i had in this year... Hope God will give me will power to finish this game.

I am/was also kind of unstoppable player to beat vanilla but... I think it's nearly impossible to beat this game as it is or it needs so much ultra-generous RNG that at that point it's not worth the time spent and would only prove that it's *very technically* possible but in reality there is no efficiency at it, to play the game where there is heavily no winning condition unless there are any kind of mods.
Also I believe it was not supposed to be that hard and if the developer worked on this game for a couple more years, it would become significantly more balanced. So it's close to if I make the game but don't patch some late updates and forget about it leaving thousands of players in the utter pain of attempts to beat it only ONCE.
I admitted it simply misses some unfinished patches to become balanced

Failure was the only thing that motivated me to play it. Unfortunately i chose to give up. I DON'T KNOW if there are any professional PD players like me!!
I am looking for them. I bought Minecraft and Terraria to play instead of it. Cause playing it now is pointless cause... I don't know.. Fate always makes me lose. Even if I reset the game.. I never make it.. The most depth i have ever gone was that.. I don't know.. Oh yes 4th boss..i never won... Still to my heart and to my memory this will be my favorite game cause i never won... I am planning to play this in my Future when i am like having a job... Still i will remember this game forever. Also i have this on my win7 laptop.. To remember like a trophy... I had only managed to get atleast 8 badges including the super badges like kill monster at night and play 10 times (i remember playing 100 times atleast )
I've beaten this game dozens of times (with EVERY character and sub-character), so you can do it too....just remember, sometimes it's impossible to win (you need to get a bit lucky with the scrolls potions weapons etc, or you just can't win). The most important thing is to manage your 'upgrade' and 'enchantment' scrolls (eg. NEVER use an enchantment scroll on your armor because most armor enchantments suck, ALWAYS enchant weapons instead....and wait until your weapon is broken before you enchant it, to get the most use out of your weapon). Feel free to send me a message here, if you ever want some help or advice.

It's all about managing your items (especially your upgrade scrolls)....this is one of the most strategic games ever, and you have to PLAN your way to victory.

Just had a game where I had +5 plate armor and 2 warhammers by like level 12 and I still managed to choke on this one dwarven ruins level in a hallway that was just so freaking long and enemies couldn’t help but flock into it. All those fucking enemies on that stage suck ass
I've speedrun the second pixel dungeon before, Beat yog as the warrior, i got pretty lucky, sadly, it's fairly normal, 30 or so minutes give or take.
Well i play this game now 2 weeks and i get better and better,i have tactics for many of the enemys,like snakes when they not see me,always doing an surprise attack,being in a meele fight with DM-100,killing a necromancer and not the skeletons he is summoning,killing bats/cave spiders from high distance,meele attack gnoll-shamans and be careful with the gnoll-brute's rage attack.I will try to go more far then depth 13 and get more tactics

Keep trying....eventually you'll get lucky with your weapons and armor and win (i've won with every character and subclass, so it CAN be done).

@@cubesquared2291 of you have an excess amount of a certain colored potion, it tends to be either health or fire in most cases, same with when shops sell alot of a certain color. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but when I take my chances it's usually right.
Potion of invisiblity, for example, can be identified with a high probablity, because you always find it on a floor with fishes.
Also killing flies from depth 2 are guaranteed to drop healing potions
The game always provide you the right potion you need in the floor, so you can guess what it is ;)

Where are the items durabilities at ?? Bc that's like 90% of the difficulty
This is an older version (latest available on PC, besides Steam), so several features such as degradation aren't included.
Even if degradation was included, constant scrolls of upgrade can easily be used to repair items, especially in a speedrun where you wouldn't be fighting as many enemies.
@@marshalldotexe totally wrong assumption. Mostly because I haven't seen a single run on CZcams highlighting walkthrough of vanilla degradation updated version of PD. I have tried it myself like a thousands of times and it's truly nearly impossible because upgrading things makes them break faster (64 basic durability and -4 for every upgrade). So all of your rings +2, especially mending one in this speedrun would break after two levels, war hammer +10 and battle axe +5 would break after one fight (one hit) with any moster as well as that armor +3 wouldn't stand too much hits before the need of new scroll

@@Мопс_001 Despite scrolls of upgrade lowering your maximum durability, they (and scrolls of enchantment, or weightstones) will always replenish your current durability when used. It's not intuitive, but it is manageable. My first win was done in the last version with degradation, so I just learned to deal with it.
@@marshalldotexe Was it exactly vanilla? don't get me wrong but I have a really heavy doubts about this statement since I have learned about this game too much to believe simple answers such as "resource management"

In earlier versions of vanilla pixel dungeon weapons and armor used to have infinite durability, now they can break. I'm pretty sure the author of this video is probably playing a really old version of the game, which is way easied than the current
