This is quite misleading because most people associate church as an organization with a certain kind of structure, etc. You spoke of gathering and fellowship. I haven't been to a "church service" in many years. I have regularly met with a couple of small groups of people where we have worshipped, studied, prayed for one another and eaten meals together. I have grown far more during this time than any other time in 50 plus years of "going to church". In America it seems that the vast majority of "churches", cannot operate in or by the Holy Spirit because their programs, agendas, structures and practices make it nearly impossible. Church in America has become a spectator experience rather than an every member participative experience. The shutting down of face to face gathering of churches has probably advanced the true church greatly.

I been in church 40 years living a Sunday to Sunday sermon Now God has called me to study and show myself approved Because being in church all my life I wasn't taught the truth as a lot of us wasn't but I'm sorry but I'm not setting foot in another Luke warm church that celebrates pagan holidays And preach money every Sunday and call $100 pray lines. There are too many churches that are failling the body of Christ because they want to partake in what the world does And they accept things as the world does. At this point I am being obedient to God... now when God leads me to a church that teaches The Bible the right way and worships in spirit and in truth then I will be there Till then I enjoyed studying for myself As I draw strength in the lord from that and I'm getting me and my family prepared for what's to come And listening to powerful men such as this man of God. I've never heard things being taught the way this Chosen man of God teaches. But to each his own we all have Our individual walk with the father And I choose to walk in obedience.

I find that sad. I Have been in Christ since 2003. I have been in churches that preach the truth. There are churches that teach the truth. Instead of charging the church as a whole with "lukewarmness", we must look to ourselves as why we stay and why the lukewarm church was enough. Was my church glamorous or 5031c? No. But the truth was told.

My friend, I'd like to share with that God is separating the true believers out of the corporate churches, [ parable of the wheat and tares] because believe or not the judgement process has begun there, please read Matthew 24:15, 1st Peter 4:17, and 2nd Thesalonions 2:2-3-4. Your discomfort with the churches is valid, they have gone there own way, and God has given them up, but for the true believers scattered around the world, may God bless you and your family.

And when you have made it your destiny to worship him in spirit and in truth let me say that once again and in truth then You are winning in this spiritual warfare. And please don't think I've ever tried to find fault in the church rather than find fault in myself because it started with me 1st but once you start to walk in his glory and you start to hear his voice Hallelujah.... Same here! I do believe that fellowship with other believers is required and necessary as a Christian. However, the act of "going to church," at least in America, is nothing but ritualistic gathering with very little actual fellowship. Not to mention, over the past 8 years my family and I went to many different churches and as of this time last year have stopped going to any church because all of the one's we went to (7 different churches with different denominations) practice things in the church that are in direct contradiction to scripture. For example, celebrating the pagan holidays "for Jesus" or in the name of Jesus (out of tradition) when God said not to worship Him the way the pagans worship their gods. While doing this, they forsake the Biblical Feasts days because they "are Jewish traditions." The churches we went to either preached false doctrines or have lukewarm preaching that omits repentance. If God leads us to a biblically sound church, we will happily attend with joy! Until then, we only have our bibles, each other, and the few men of God who preach and teach, and women of God who teach, sound doctrine on CZcams and social media.

Because even Jesus Christ that men will come eating and drinking and rises up to play ? In 1 Timothy 3:14-15, Paul said his reason for writing the book and giving the instructions regarding church leadership is so that the saints would know how to conduct themselves in the "household of God."

If it's required then why are churches so divided by race and doctrines. Biblical church should be a model of the early church in Acts. It's should be Believers in the same community gathering to pray, worship and help one another in the community. It's should not be about waking up on Sunday and driving way across town because I like this pastor or popularity. Most of us don't even love much less speak to our neighbors as we should yet go to a building and think we serving God because we show up. Sunday is the most divided day in Christianity.

I was awakened to the false teaching and left there in 2017. I’ve been at Covenant Church in Carrollton since then, but they even became a word of faith-type church.

The Church of today doesn’t model the same church that Apostle Paul established. The church then had one purse and distributed to the poor, and all those that were called were held to a standard. There was a strong bond, and they dealt with the ppl of that congregation in an orderly fashion: Lifestyle had to model obedience to the word of God or you were cast out as an infidel or a rebellious person. Now, ANYTHING GOES! A Babe can go to church and learn just how to be lukewarm. So much ungodly influences is IN THE CHURCH!!! (Most, not all) So much heresy being taught and occult’s being built and barely any accountability required. TBH I don’t encourage ppl to go church, I first tell them to have a relationship with Christ (First and Foremost) and let the HolyGhost lead them, but I do suggest that they find other Believers to assemble with. ( Be led with that also) It’s dangerous out here! Satan is setting and leading in most churches. The Bible declares that, “There will be a famine in the land for hearing the words of God…. They will run to and fro and shall not find it.” Amos 8:11-12

I know I’m going to get a lot of heat for this but no, I haven’t been to my church since the lockdowns. Before the lockdowns, i was growing rather irritated with my church. I didn’t like how my pastor taught and I didn’t feel like I was being fed. I still don’t feel like I’m being fed but I haven’t been back ever since. I tune into their livestream and other livestreams. I’m not trying to have church by myself at all. I just don’t know what to do if every time I go to this particular church I sit there in palpable irritation. A lot of my local churches teach clear heresy, so I don’t want to go to a random church to pass the time, but it almost physically and mentally pains me to go to the church that I’ve been a member of for 9 years. It wasn’t always like this; I used to attend regularly and serve often for the first 5 years. However, things changed and I don’t know if it’s because of the merging of congregations or the departure of familiar faces, but I haven’t been able to adjust.
I think my pastor is a very caring and thoughtful man. He’s not a false teacher. Perhaps I just don’t like his style. But I sat there for years now being so irritated that I’m fussing in my head the whole time. I don’t think that’s a way to be. I’m not saying I’m without fault for the fussing in my head but I no longer feel connected to that particular church. I don’t know if any of this makes sense. Why are some being deliberately obtuse? Of course we know that in this society, a building in which followers of Christ gather is called a church. We also know that the building doesnt have to have a steeple. It can be any building used for the gathering.
We know the body of Christ/followers of Christ is called the church by the word of God. We all know that the church is the group of people.why do people continue to get on soap boxes and go on and on about it? What does it matter?
"The church is not a building but the people. We dont need to be in a building to be a believer. And just because you go doesnt mean you are a believer ......". That is some of the rhetoric. We all know that going to a building doesnt make you right with God.
We have literally been commanded to fellowship and to have meetings for edification with a leader and elders. The bible. Maps it out for us. The only way we can please God is by obedience.
And the church is NOT in your heart. That is just an excuse. You dont want to be around believers but you will break your neck to be around nonbelievers
It is time for people to be honest and search their hearts. How can you love God without obedience or loving his people? Iron sharpeth iron

@OldEnoughToKnowBetter "the church is in your heart- not the four walls" is an excuse used to by many people who do not want to be a part of the body of Christ. Many choose/prefer to fellowship with unbelievers.
The church is not "in your heart" but is part of Christ's body. We are an integral part of the kingdom of God-each being a type of cell that makes up the very fabric/fiber of each part of the bible.
Some prefer to be loners-which is also against Gods purpose. We are to be light and salt. In order to do so, you must not be a loner or desire to be. Our lives are not our own

The bible is the mainstay anyway right, he was always #1 not the corporate churches. Any we are very close to his return and a shift in his plan has been made, read 1st Peter 4:17, Matthew 24:15 and the parable of the wheat and tares, which is about God separating his people out of these churches. Going to church will not help you! Sunday worship will not release you!
Your only hope of shaking yourself free from Satan and the destructive mindset of the world is to follow the CHRIST WAY.
The Christ Way is the WAY of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE and UNCONDITIONAL FORGIVENESS which Jesus personally followed and lived after full understanding in the desert - understanding which enabled Jesus to return to Jerusalem and embark on a new life of healing, teaching and control of the elements. But because the original teachings of Jesus are in direct opposition to the teachings of retribution and a vengeful God, Jesus was eventually crucified. Any other explanation of the crucifixion of Jesus is spurious and wholly untrue.
Do not be foolish, leave the churches, and allow the doors of the churches be closed. Stand up with courage and demand that the old doctrines and dogma of Christianity be swept away to make way for the CHRIST WAY to be taught from the pulpits, introduced into your way of thought, words, actions and living.
Have the courage to be a true disciple of Jesus and defy Christian ministers whose positions of authority bring them titles and preferments.
There is a whole system in place - ready and waiting to adopt the TRUTH. But it needs conviction, courage and determination such as Jesus exhibited when on earth to bring about a complete turn around in worldwide thought.

Again, I say, and let the true words of Jesus ring around the world - "He who has ears to hear, let him hear! He who has the understanding to help him believe - understand and believe - and act!"
You have within your hands the means by which to move up onto your next level of spiritual evolution. USE THEM!
Do not be afraid to let go of cherished beliefs which are neither sensible nor truly helpful.

do I have to go to a denomination? The answer is no, you don't have to be a member of any denomination to be saved. For example, our Baptist friends believe you are saved by faith alone and then you have to do something else to become a Baptist, so I can be saved and not be a Baptist? then why be one? The Lord added me to his church when I repented and was baptized, read Acts 2 and yes we meet every Sunday

I disagree, churchs is in you! Yahoshua, He is the living word not the building. Because today church is a building where people gather together for different purposes made up of men tradition s according to their church practices. Although, worship is for the purpose of giving the Most High all of your attention in praise and honoring the Most High Awa,
, Almighty son Of the most High Awa, is that Holy thing in our Heart because we don't need a relationship with people to come before Almighty Aahweh, we only need to be focus on holding on to him Yahoshua, in our own private place to honor Him in Praises, prayers, and Thanksgiving for our restoration in our relationship with Him.
The churchs buildings are made with hand of construction workers who are filled with 😈 spirits, and unclean hands, The Lord is Holy. Families can bond together at home and with neighbors to assemble themselves together outside to read the Bible and have weekly prayer services, also, gather together to worship Awa in the Name of HA'MASHIAH Yahoshua, can take place at community schools or school football fileds and indoor gym in the neighborhood, under the directions to whomsoever, the Lord HA'MASHIAH, gives His message to inform the people who are hungry for the word of Almighty Aahweh,
